Chapter 29: Son, Meet Your Father
Yvonne
"No one deserves to be cheated on and we didn't do anything wrong because we just protected ourselves from the pain they caused. It is not our fault, it is theirs. Alexander, you are a really nice man and I really appreciate that you want to help me so much but I don't think we should be doing this." I looked at him before continuing.
"You deserve someone who will love you with their heart and I am sure you will find that person at the right time. We getting engaged would not help us in any way and I can handle him, he knows about Ryan already and I don't intend to hide from him anymore too. He can be in my son's life as his father but he can't be back in my life." I said softly and patted his hands gently.
I noticed a flash of hurt passed through his eye before he looked down at our hands again. I can't do this to him, I want him to be with someone who will love him wholeheartedly and I definitely can't do that.
"Then let's just pretend that you are my fiancee because not just you but I also need your help to keep someone away from me." He said as he held my hands, I looked at him questioningly.
"Please, Yvonne. Let's do this."
I have never seen this side of him before, my heart ached from him because he looked vulnerable and tired all of a sudden. I found myself nodding softly at him and he looked at me surprised.
"Really?" He asked.
"Yes, I want to help you." I smiled at him softly and he gave a wide smile.

I returned home and as soon as I got out of my car, I immediately met with the pair of forest green eyes, extremely mad. He was leaning against his car, obviously waiting for me. I calmly closed the car door and stood in front of him.
"Why are you here?" I asked nonchalantly.
He closed his eyes for a second and took a deep breath before looking at me with a serious and dark expression.
"Is it true?" He asked in a low yet cold voice.
"Yes," I responded, his expression became cold and I noticed a flash of hurt passed through his eyes.
"I really don't mean anything to you, do I?" He asked, looked down and I kept silent.
"The times that we were together, those moments, the feeling and everything. It never mattered to you, did it?" He looked at me woyu accusation expression.
How dare this man have the audacity to accuse me when he destroyed everything in the first place.
"As if it matters to you," I raised an eyebrow and looked at him coldly.
"It did to me, it meant everything to me." He looked hurt and angered but I don't believe his words.
"Hahaha! So that is why you divorced me because I meant everything to you. What a joke." I snorted.
"What about you, Yvonne? I asked for divorce, yes I admitted that but what about you? You didn't even try to question me, you didn't even fight for us, you didn't fight for me." He roared at me.
I could see the unmasked hurt, regret and sadness as he stared at me with blaming eyes like everything that happened in the past was my fault. How could someone stoop this low? I was about to respond when a small voice interrupted us.
"Mother?"
Ryan was standing behind the iron gate, looking at the both of us. I ignored Nathan and went to open the gate and took him in my arms.
"Hey, my prince." I kissed his forehead and he smiled as he kissed my cheek.
He looked past me and his smile disappeared but I could see his eyes shining. I looked about and saw Nathan standing there and looking at Ryan with so many emotions and hesitance was the most evident. He looked like he wanted to approach him but stopped because Ryan seemed unapproachable. I had already made a decision that I won't be selfish when it comes to my son, he wants his father snd I would love to see him happy.
"Would you like to come in, Mr. Kelvin?" I asked and both of them looked at me with shock. I ignored their gaze as I went towards the house with my son in my arm.
I sat on the couch and with him on my lap, Nathan followed and took a seat in front of me.
"My son, I want you to meet your father." I said, caressing his cheeks and put him in the group so that he could go to Nathan.
Ryan looked at me with confused eyes, observing me whether I was okay or not. I glanced at Nathan, his eyes were teary while looking at his son with fatherly love. I assured Ryan and nodded at him, he turned his face to Nathan.
"Can I hug you?" Nathan asked softly with a controlled voice but his tears fell from his eyes.
Ryan looked at him for a while before nodding his head.

Nathan POV.
The boy looked back at his mother for confirmation and then looked at me nodding. He walked towards me hesitantly and I knelt down from the sitting position and opened my arms. He stopped and searched my face, tears fell from my eyes as I realized how my son was being so hesitant and cautious towards me.
It is all my fault, if I didn't take that fucking stupid step eight years ago, maybe thing would have worked out for us. I will do anything to make things right again and I swear that I will get them back. I waited patiently for him to trust me as I stared back at him with all the love and sincerity.
He finally came close and opened his arms, I couldn't even describe the feelings I felt just now when I caught a glimpse of acceptance in his eyes. I immediately wrapped my arms around him, hugging him ever so gently and his figure seemed so small and fragile in my arms. A strong warmth spread throughout my body when he wrapped his small hands around my neck, hugging me back.
I couldn't stop myself from sobbing as I held my own flesh and blood. I looked at Yvonne, her eyes were teary as well as she stared at us. I felt a small hand patted my back gently as more tears fell from my eyes. I looked into my son's eyes and I knew he hadn't accepted me completely because his body was still tense and his eyes were not as carefree as when he was around his mother. But I was glad that he was at least giving me a chance. I kissed his forehead, he smiled a little and turned to his mother again.
"Mother, can we spend some time together with him before going back?" She nodded at him and I furrowed my brows.
Are they going somewhere? Is she planning to hide from me again? My eyes widened at the possibility.
"What do you mean? Are you going somewhere?" I bored my eyes into hers.
Hell would freeze before I let them go.
"Yes, we are going back to Dubai to grandpa." Ryan responded.
What the hell! They can't go back to that man!
"You can't go back!" My voice came out more harsh than I intended to.
I saw Yvonne's eyes widened before they turned icy cold as she glared back at me. She came to me and took Ryan from my arms and smiled gently at him. What a change of expression.
"My prince, would you go to your room for a while? I want to talk to him about something." She stroked his head and he nodded like an adult before looking back at me.
"See you later, Mr. Kelvin."
