Chapter 67: Chapter sixty-seven
Gael's POV
I turned around to see a lady cladded in black dressed with a nose mask and I wondered what was with ladies and black.
Isn't that the color Ariana was putting on? I should make Astral stay away from black'
Even though the lady was in disguise I do not think that I had met her before but I let her get to me and after she removed her mask I was sure I hadn't met her.
"Hello, Mr. Robert it is nice meeting you, I am Kimberly even though I am sure you know who I am," she says with a face full of confidence extending her hands and I scoff.
'What insolence!'
"I can't say it's nice meeting you..and about knowing who you are I don't think I should care about that because I don't care who you are," I said harshly, and I saw her look at me in shock but I do not care about my brutal words.
I could already tell what kind of person she was…a leech who uses others to climb the ladder.
"Hmmm..but I am sure that it would not be bad to get to know each other," she said with a hopeful gaze and I shook my head seeing that she was not taking the hint.
"Looks like you don't understand the little gesture but I am going to spell it out..get lost!" I said and she gasped.
"What a leech," I mumbled, leaving the girl standing without giving her a look.

Astral's POV
I immediately jolted out of my thoughts, noticing the presence of someone in the room and I watched Ariana scrutinize me with her eyes.
"Thank you for coming, Ariana," I say breaking into the awkward silence she nods her head and I wonder why she is looking serious.
'Did something happen between her and Gael? Did Gael hurt her feelings?' I mulled and I was already condemning the man in my mind feeling that he should not have done that.
"Astral, can I ask you a question?" Ariana asked and I nodded my guess urging that she should go on.
"Apart from kissing each other randomly have you guys done more….I mean have you guys.." Ariana asked and my cheeks got reddened hearing her question and I wondered if I should tell her.
'She is going to feel betrayed since I did not tell her about that' I panicked and I looked at her before nodding my head.
"Oh, you have?" She exclaimed and I decided to soothe her mood but she came to hug me immediately forgetting that I was recovering.
"Oh my goodness, I am so proud of you!" She exclaimed happily and I wondered what was wrong with her.
'Is she not supposed to be angry?' I wondered and she disengaged from the hug before she looked at my face.
"You are lucky Astral and I hope it will not be too late before you recognize the goodness in front of you," she says and I was confused as to why my friend was talking in fables.
"What are you saying?" I asked but her discussion was suspended when Gael entered the room.
"You are going to be fine," she says and she stands up glancing at Gael I wondered what was going on between the two.
'What did they talk about?' I asked and my mind was going crazy with questions.
"I would be going now. I hope you recover soon, babe," Ariana said before I could say anything as she dashed out of the room and I wondered why she was in a hurry.
"What did you do to my friend?" I asked glaring at Gael and he shrugged his shoulders.
"You don't have to be worried about her.. you just have to get well first," Gael said and he urged me to sleep.
*******************************
It has been 3 days since I woke up and it has been strenuous with people coming in to wish me well.
After days of slaving away, I won't slave in the hospital I won't say I was slaving because I was pampered but no one likes the idea of being taken care of without doing anything I was able to finally get discharged and I breathed a sigh of relief as I get up from the bed.
"Oh my goodness, Astral! Take it easy what if you slip!" Gael yelled, and I wondered what the exaggeration was for when I was fit enough to walk.
"But I didn't slip or did I?" I was confused about the whole saga of him being overly protective.
"Yes, I know you haven't slipped but there has never been a penalty for doing it right," Gael says and he walks to me holding out his hands.
"What now? You want to be my walking Aide?" I asked glaring at him and he shook his head.
"No, but don't you think that it would be more comfortable to rely on me?" He asked and I looked at him weirdly.
"What! What comfort would your hands give me?" I scoffed and I heard him sigh.
"Looks like you lost your IQ during the accident?" He asked and I gasped, holding my chest like I was hurt.
"Oh goodness, my heart!" I say dramatically and in no time I saw Gael rushed to my side and I was surprised by his actions.
"What is it? Are you okay? Are you suddenly feeling sick?" Gael asked with worry laced in his voice and I felt bad pulling a prank like that on him.
"I am okay...I was just pulling your leg," I blurted and the man looked at me with a crazy look I was waiting for his outburst calling me crazy and stiffs but none was forthcoming.
"It's fine to be crazy...I allowed you to be crazy," he said, patting my head, and my stomach was filled with butterflies with his actions and I was dumbstruck staring at his face.
'What is this man doing to me?'
"Let's go home, our home," Gael said, extending his hands to me but this time I did not debate because his voice was soothing, and the way he called it our home made it more inviting.
I never could imagine that I could have a home in Robert Gale's life but it looks like I did and I decided to mumble on that fleeting happiness…but is it fleeting?
