Chapter 522: Only You Can Sit on My Lap

C:

Aaron knew his mentor wouldn't lie to him, but he really needed a job to get some money back.

Suddenly, an idea flashed through his mind. He started typing on the keyboard.

Declan, who was in the study, laughed uncontrollably.

He immediately replied:

"Yes!" exclaimed Aaron while clenching his fists tightly in his room.

Despite the excitement, he remembered to remind his mentor of something. He quickly sent another message.

Little Gun Is Your Dad:

C replied:

Because of his guilty conscience, Aaron was a little flustered.

He then felt relieved.

Half an hour later, his phone buzzed again.

C:

Aaron, who was sitting on the chair lazily, playing video games, sat up abruptly after receiving the text.

C:

He clicked on the attachment quickly. The document stated everything clearly.

For example, something about re-employment of Undermarine workers, new

directions of development, collaborators, ways to reduce losses...

Aaron's head was spinning from the amount of information he had consumed.

However, thinking about the money he was about to receive immediately cleared his mind and rejuvenated his body.

Aaron was overjoyed and didn't think much of it. If he did, he would have realized that something was off.

Why would his vigilant dad let outsiders handle such confidential matters of Castle Group and Undermarine?

Little did he know, he had already fallen into his dad's trap.

He whistled as he continued to type.

C replied:

Meanwhile, in the study, Declan sat in his chair with his head resting on the backrest.

...

He smiled, pressing his temples with his index finger.

He was so calm that every movement he made became sluggish.

However, the threatening and mysterious feeling he gave out as a capitalist could not be hidden.

After speaking with Layla, Freya went upstairs to see the kids, but they were all busy with their own activities, so she went to the study.

She turned the doorknob quietly and lightly stepped inside.

Then, she turned around and closed the door carefully.

She didn't want to wake up Declan, who was sleeping in his chair, so she approached him on tiptoe.

One step, two steps, three steps... She finally got behind Declan.

Suddenly, Declan's eyelashes moved a little.

She smiled, revealing a perfectly aligned row of teeth.

She was planning to cover Declan's eyes and let him guess who she was.

Suddenly, before she could act on her prank, Declan grabbed her arm and pulled her toward him.

She had no idea what was going on. When she was back to her senses, she was already sitting on his lap, her hands around his neck.

Freya chuckled as she looked at Declan's placid expression. "How did you know it was me? Were you not afraid of pulling the wrong person to sit on your lap?"

Declan loved it the most when Freya made jealous remarks.

Although he didn't understand why Freya was always overthinking, he found it fascinating and enjoyed it.

He liked it when Freya cared about him.

He reached out his hand and lightly stroked her neck. "I don't need to see to recognize you. I could tell just by your breath."

He then laughed. "My lap is only for you to sit on, not even our kids."

When Declan teased Freya, she was breathing heavily, and her heart was pounding.

Sitting on his lap, she was a little higher than Declan, and she could see his facial structure and his thin lips from above. At that moment, she felt safe.

Freya flashed a bright smile from ear to ear, brighter than the sun.

"Why are you so nice?" She sighed.

"Because you deserve it," Declan said, repeating what she had said to him last time.

"You have such a nice way with words."

"I learned from you."

"I'm lazy to argue with you." Freya laughed. "How's work? Do you need any help?" Declan leaned back lazily with both hands rubbing her waist. "Someone volunteered," he said.

Freya went blank for a few seconds. "Wow, Aaron walked right into the trap. What a good son," she said as her eyes brightened.

"How did you manage to make him work so easily? You gave that greedy boy a lot of money, didn't you?"

"There's no need."

"Oh?" Freya got curious.

"I have a plan, but I can't reveal it yet." Declan deliberately left Freya hanging.

When the couple looked at each other, they could see each other's cunning expressions.

"It's just that Aaron is still a child; wouldn't that burden him?" asked Freya with concern.
