Chapter 34: Thirty Four

LILA'S POV

I Had a lot of work to do the day, Roland sent me to take a look at the construction going on. The same construction that is delaying Roland and carmellia's wedding.

I got there quite early and saw the progress. In less than 2 weeks, they would have been done and Roland can have his wedding. So that means we be got to start preparing for the wedding.

I got a call from one of my assistant that I have a meeting in the next 2 hours in a Restaurant. Argh!. I'm so tired but I have to finalize the deal with the person. My assistant had been the one attending the meeting on my behalf since I was busy with other urgent matter. It would be somehow if I don't show up at all till the business deal is finalize. My business partner might think I'm a proud type so I have to go.

I stayed in the construction sight and discussed with the contractors and engineers for sometimes before heading to the restaurant.

My assistant already briefed me on everything about the deal. And she told me that the Restaurant was owned by the business partner so it be easy for us to extend our company to a culinary level too.

I got to the restaurant about an hour later. I came out of the car and headed inside. I took a sit near the window and waited for the business partner. A waiter came to take in my orders. I ordered a fruit juice and waited patiently for my business partner.

I received a call from him telling me he's almost near the restaurant. Can you imagine?. He isn't yet in the Restaurant. I felt pissed a bit and started pressing my phone.

Suddenly,I started sniffing a particular scent. A scent I would never forget.. A scent that I couldn't ignore ...The masculine scent stalked inside of me. My wolf started jumping. _mate mate mate mate_

I looked around searching for the scent. My mate was near by. Joy surged through me sniffing for the farmilar scent. Where could it be coming from?. I glanced through every corner. I didn't even recognize him. So I only had my nose to sniff.

I wanted to stand up when someone blocked me. I looked up at him and my eyes almost popped out. I stood up slowly standing in front of him. He also was looking at me. His blue eyes gazed on me. His dark hair ,pink lips and huge body made me go crazy. He stood all gallant like a demi god.

Mate!. I heard him say.

He's my mate. My long lost mate!. He's terribly handsome. I closed my eyes to see if I'm still dreaming. But I was not. He wasn't like this the time I met him. He was looking all boyish then. That was about 5 years ago.

I couldn't utter a word. I sat down slowly and he did the same.

"Hi..I'm Kendrick". He said stretching his hands for a shake. I looked at his hands and shook it slowly. I could feel some sparks enveloping through. He's definitely my mate.

"I'm Lily but you can also call me Lila". I said smiling.

"I believe you must be the business partner I'm here to meet. You're late for the meeting you hosted". I said sternly.

"Uhmm sorry about that,u had to settle some issues in my office before running down here. Hope you accept my apologies ". He said bowing slightly. His gesture alone showed that he was humble.

"Now let's get into business". We talked for hours and made the deal. I was so happy about it. He offered to take me out as a celebration for the deal. I reluctantly agreed.

"I'm hoping to see you again mate ". He said as he left.

I found my mate. I found my mate..I was so happy. I wanted to call Anita first since she's the only one I told. I wanted to take my phone from my bag when a ring also came through.

I picked the call immediately.

"Hello...my lady... Madame Anita is in labor and no one his at home ". A maid said shakily.

"What?.. I'm coming. You know what, prepare her things I'm coming now". I said cutting the call .

How could I get home?. The pack house is 45 minutes from here. I decided to shapeshift in a secluded place and ran through the woods to the pack house. I ran so fast that I feared I was going to loose my breath forever. I got there almost immediately. And went to where Anita was. Still in my wolf form,I went there.

All maids shook in fear when they saw me in my wolf form. I went to Anita's bed and saw her in serious pain. I sniffed and licked her to give her warmth and care. I went away and went to my room to shapeshift back to human form. I wore a new clothes because I shapeshifted naked.

I hurriedly wore my clothes and went to Anita's room. Luckily,the doctor and midwives came and we all entered the room and locked it. Her water already broke and she wailed the more. It is her first born child so it's going to be more painful.

"Now madam I would want your help to push out your baby. Would you assist?". The doctor asked Anita softly.

"Yes doctor". Anita answered in pain.

"Good. Now you're already dilated to the maximum. We are going to push in 10 seconds each. Meaning I'll count to 10 and while I'm counting, you will be pushing. Ok?". The doctor said and he summoned the mid wife to assist and they both wore gloves.

Almost immediately, Fred banged the door hoping to be let in.

"Let him in". Anita said weakly.

He rushed in as soon as I opened the door.

"Annie..". He got to her and hugged her.

"I'm sorry for coming late. Please forgive me. I know you are strong. Please bring our baby safely to us". He said kissing her.

"I can't stay here or I might pass out. I'll be waiting outside for his arrival. I love you baby "! He kissed her head and left.

I locked the door and stood beside her stroking her hair softly.

"You can do this ". She held my hands tightly.

"So are you ready". The doctor asked Anita and she nodded.

"Now push 1,2,3,4.. Keep on pushing 5,6,7,8,9,10... Good job...now let's take a few seconds break to catch up with your breath "? The doctor said as Anita breathed heavily.

"Ahhhhh". Anita screamed.

"Now let's continue..are you ready ". Anita nodded.

"Now push 1,2,3...I see that baby's head already..4,5,6,7... youre doing this. Push harder ma'am,8,9,10.. the baby's head is finally out " the doctor said and Anita breathed heavily.

"The baby's head is out Annie. You can do this ". I held her hands tightly.

" Break over again.. let's push again. We want to bring out it's shoulders this is going to be tough but I trust you. You've been making progress. Are you ready?. The doctor asked her.

Anita nodded. And was ready to push again.

"Now push 1,2.. it's coming out now..3,4,5,6.. ohhh.. the baby is out". The doctor said amazed. It happened that as soon as the shoulder came out,the baby slipped out immediately.

A cry of a baby filled the room and Anita laid back breathing heavily all sweaty.

"You did it momma". I said stroking her head .

The placenta came out and the umbilical cord was cut.

"It's a boy". The mid wife said carrying the baby to his mother.

Anita collected her baby and cried after kissing him. She gave back the baby to the midwife and she went to watch the baby.

I assisted Anita up to wash up. Within an hour,her room was neat and smelled of a new born. The midwife went outside to tell everyone that she has put to bed. I carried the new born I'm my arms and kissed his sleepy face. He pouted cutely and began to whine. I took him to his mum to be breastfed.

He suckled fastly like his life depended on it. But for reals,his life depended on his mom's milk.

"Congratulations Anita". I said and she smiled warmly.

Fred rushed into the room happily.

He bent down beside his wife and looked at the baby suckle. The baby looks so much like fred. Fred kissed his wife lovingly and stroked her hair.

I decided to go outside. I couldn't help but think about my own future. How I'm going to feel carrying a baby for my mate. Making my own family.

I smiled inwardly and met a helpless face looking at me.

"What's wrong carmellia". I asked her

"How's she?. How's the baby. Is she fine". I could feel her fidgeting. She's fine, her Bay is fine. She's alive.

I could understand her Emotions. She didn't know her mother. Her mother was so weak when she gave birth to her. And she didn't survive. She lost a lot of blood. That's how the moon goddess fated her.

"Pheww". I heard her sigh.

I met Roland running towards our direction. He hugged carmellia and wished they got married and have a baby too.

"How's she?". Roland asked me?.

"She's put to bed". I said smiling.

I could see the smile on Roland's face. He was very happy.

"Could we see them now?". Roland asked

"Both parents are having time with their baby. Let's give them time. We would visit them later". I said to them.

"By the way....". I started

"I found my mate ". I said smiling happily.

"Whaaaaaatttt really?". Both Said in unison.

"I'm so happy for you ". I heard carmellia say hugging me.

"Where is he now?". Roland asked.

Then I told them what happened few years back and how I met my mate. And how I found out he was my business partner and everything.

"Are your u kidding?". Roland asked

"Of course not". I said rolling my eyes.

They both were happy with me. And I felt excited. I left them later.

I went to my room and found 3 missed calls from Kendrick.

I called him back immediately and he picked at the first ring.

"Hello ,you called". I stated.

"Ermm... actually I saw you shapeshift and I got worried the way you ran. Hope there's no problem?". He asked worriedly.

Ahh. I gasped. He's worried about me. But wait!.did he just say he watched me shapeshift?. Like he saw me pull of my clothes?.

"Did..did...you..". He chuckled lightly.

"Of course. But I didn't look. I Just prevented people from seeing you in that corner". He said .

Pheww. I heaved a sigh of relief.

"So what's up?". He asked .

"I ran because my sister in-law was in labor. She's put to bed now though ". I said smiling.

"Uhmm". He said.

"So are you free this night?". He asked.

Oh my ...he's taken things fast. I blushed hard.

"Yeah I guess ". I stated.

"Ok.i will pick you up by 7 Sharp". He said cutting the call

I screamed happily and jumped. Today's the happiest day of my life.

What should I wear?.

I need to look good for my mate.
