Chapter 65: The attempt to kidnap Amy.

It was almost ten o'clock when Amy arrived at their house. The twins, Josh and Aliah, were soundly sleeping in the back of the car. While driving, Zack suddenly spoke, breaking the silence.

“Amy, I want to tell you this. Can I court you again?” he asked, with sincerity in his voice.

Amy was stunned by what she heard. She didn't expect Zack's direct confession. In her mind, maybe this was the right time to try again. She knew she was hurt before, but she didn't want to hide her feelings anymore. She was ready to give their interrupted love a chance.

“Z-Zack...” Amy replied, stammering, nervous but with a bit of happiness in her voice.

“Amy, I know I hurt you before,” Zack said while gently holding her hand. “But this time, I promised myself—I won’t repeat my mistakes. Let’s fix this, for you, for the kids.”

Amy stared into Zack's eyes. She could feel the sincerity of the young man. “I know, Zack. That’s why I agree. Court me again, but let’s do it right. I want to build our family for the kids,” she said, a smile forming on her face.

Zack almost jumped for joy when he heard this. “You won’t regret it, Amy,” he replied, full of happiness. He gently kissed the back of her hand, signaling a promise.

After their conversation, they got out of the car. Amy carried Josh while Zack carried Aliah. While carrying their child, Amy heard a soft groan from Josh, as if he was waking up.

“Hmm...” said Josh, as if wanting to get up.

“Shh... just sleep, baby,” Amy said lovingly while gently stroking the back of their child, calming him. Zack smiled while watching the scene, feeling the warmth of Amy's love for their family.

Zack opened the door of the house while tightly holding their princess Aliah, who was still soundly asleep in his arms. Amy, on the other hand, slowly walked inside, carrying Josh, who was trying to fight off sleep. When they placed the children in their room, Amy adjusted their blankets, making sure they were comfortable before kissing each of their foreheads.

“Goodnight, babies,” she whispered, smiling while looking at the peaceful faces of the twins. Behind her, Zack stood, silently watching them, his eyes full of love.

“I’m so lucky to have them, Amy,” Zack whispered as he held her hand. “And I’m luckier because you’re here again.”

Amy glanced at him and gave a slight smile. “Enough with the drama, Zack. The kids might hear you,” she joked.

Zack pulled her out of the room and carefully closed the door. When they reached the living room, Amy sat on the sofa while Zack sat next to her. They silently communicated through their gazes before Zack spoke again.

“Starting tomorrow, Amy, I’ll do everything to show you that I’ve changed. I want to start over, with you,” Zack said seriously while staring into her eyes.

Amy nodded, feeling the sincerity in his words. “Nothing’s easy, Zack. But if you really want to fix it, I’m here.”

Zack smiled and gently kissed her hand. “This is a promise,

Amy. For us, for our family.”

But before they could talk further, the moment was interrupted when Josh suddenly cried from the room. Amy immediately stood up, but Zack quickly stopped her.

“Let me” Zack offered. “I want to show that I can take care of them too.”

Amy smiled as she watched Zack head toward the children's room. Gradually, she felt a sense of hope for their family—a new beginning full of promises.

The next day, while Amy was driving to Zack's company office, she couldn't help but smile as she thought of what he had said the night before. She felt that there was still hope for their family. But this was suddenly interrupted when a black SUV blocked her car. She had to brake hard, and her heart immediately raced with fear.

Slowly, the SUV's door opened, and three men dressed in black got out. It was clear that they didn't have good intentions. Amy furrowed her brow when she recognized one of them—Victor Quizon. One of uncle's men. She had long known about his malicious plans against her.

One of them walked up to the window of Amy's car and knocked. Even though she didn't open it, she heard his cold voice.

“Miss Quizon, come with us. Your uncle needs to discuss something with you,” he said, emotionless on his face.

Amy's grip tightened on the steering wheel, but she managed to respond firmly. “What does he want now?”

“I don't know, but it's better if you comply. We don't want to make this messy,” the man threatened while holding a radio as if calling someone.

Amy looked around, but there was no one else to ask for help. She bit her lip, thinking of what to do. She reached for the cellphone in her bag, but she knew it was dangerous to make a call in front of them. But before she could make a move, her phone suddenly rang. It was Zack.

She immediately answered the call, trying to keep her voice calm. “Z-Zack, I'm near your company, but I'm being blocked—by uncle's men.” she whispered, still keeping her eyes on the men.

“Amy, don’t go down. I can see you on the CCTV. I’m on my way there with security,” Zack said firmly. Amy could feel the strength in his voice.

After a few moments, a familiar car stopped not far away. Zack got out with his two bodyguards. At his presence, Victor’s men slightly stepped back, but they still didn’t leave.

“What do you need with Amy?” Zack asked, his voice full of authority as he stared directly at the men.

“You have nothing to do with this, Delgado. This is just an order from her uncle to talk to her,” one of them replied, but it was clear they were uneasy in front of Zack.

“If her uncle wants to talk to her, do it the proper way. We’ll have a lawyer face you if necessary. But for now, do not disturb Amy,” Zack said firmly as he positioned himself in front of Amy, like a shield.

Victor’s men exchanged glances, clearly hesitating. In the end, they got back into the SUV and left without saying another word.

When the SUV finally left, Amy took a deep breath, still trembling with fear. “Z-Zack, thank you. I didn’t know what I was going to do earlier,” she said while trying to calm herself.

Zack held her hand, clearly worried. “Amy, this won’t happen again. I’ll make sure they won’t disturb you anymore.”

As they entered the office, Amy felt Zack’s protection and love. But despite this, she knew the battle was not over—especially if her uncle Juan was the enemy.
