Chapter 41

I purposely woke up early, getting what I was going to wear and my children’s clothes. They were still asleep in bed and I couldn’t help but smile because Van hugged Inah. I left the room to prepare breakfast, from here in the kitchen I could hear the rush of water from the shower in Lana’s room.

“Hey! My kids are sleeping!” I shouted here and even heard laughter.

I have already prepared their favorite porridge, I trained them to eat filipino dishes because I noticed to feed the two and Spanish food is usually in the refrigerator.

“I’m only half a day, you don’t have anything to buy later?” I heard a question behind me.

“Nothing, just find your man,” I said with a smile as she breastfed me.

“Shall I wake your twins?” smile its question as it helps me wash the vegetables.

“Those guys will wake up too,” I said sparingly.

I just left the door of my room open because they will just come out of there, they know how to walk and get off the bed because I lower that bed, I just press the red button to raise the bed when in the crib I put the kids to sleep.

“Mierda!” I dropped the tomatoes because of the loud ringtone of my cell phone.

I quickly picked up the tomatoes and I could even hear Lana laughing busy putting make-up on her face.

“You do? There’s no festival for tomatoes yet, you’ll stop,” it said laughing I peeked at who called, I just cringed because that number was not registered, I just let it go because maybe I just made a mistake.

It was almost six o’clock when I finished cooking, the two who were having fun with Lana were just awake and awake. When they saw me they stopped on purpose and instead of Lana chasing them they ran towards me.

“Oh, you won’t burn Aunt Lana anymore?” asked its question.

“Mom!” smiling Inah said.

I quickly lifted the two with heaviness already, we sat on the sofa, but Inah quickly left my grip, it stood on the sofa now turned back, it was facing the balcony with the sliding door open a little reason to see including building and the snow. It is not dangerous during the winter season, especially in February because it is just cold, it is not dangerous outside, especially in the morning.

“Banban … Ahmmm … Mama … Tata … Lala … Ahmm … Banban …” she repeated the song while dancing.

I noticed the Van also leave me and crawl across towards his twin, it also stood up and danced with the other. I just ignored them, I prepared what they were going to eat especially the soup, their bodies needed to be warmed. I stopped preparing food because of the actions of the two children, Inah quickly got off the sofa backwards and hurriedly walked into our room, s

He still stumbled but also quickly got up to get inside.

Maybe he’ll just take his toy. I went back to the kitchen to get the teaspoon but when I came back Van was gone.

“Van? Inah?” I called but no one answered.

“Let’s eat, get close to Mama quickly,” I called softly but surprisingly no one came.

It must have been my first call and they were already running towards me because that’s what they were doing. But surprisingly they didn’t do that. I was the one who came spontaneouslyof them, I had just stopped walking when I saw the two standing in front of the sliding door, on the balcony. The two smiled with a grin.

“Hey, what are you doing there? You want me to open this?” I asked weakly when I got closer.

I noticed that Inah was already banging on the sliding door, the excitement was obvious in their looks.

“Okay, Mama will open this but stay there, okay?” I asked again as they looked up at me.

I opened the sliding door causing the moderately cold air to startle me. Using his small index finger, Van pointed to the building opposite us, that was the room the mother and daughter had left because someone had moved there before. Its sliding door opened to the balcony and only a white curtain blocked it. I looked at my two children who are now looking in different directions, I have only brought them here a few times especially now that it is winter and they might slip.

Every Spring season we often come here, it’s not dangerous on this balcony because its barrier is high up to my waist and its grills are small.

“Hi!” Inah greeted the other building.

Its small hands he let slap into emptiness. I looked back there but still no one, I was scared.

“Hey, let’s go inside, you’re going to eat,” I brought their hands inside.

Obviously Inah didn’t want to because she wanted to release it from my hand. I quickly closed the sliding door cause I could see Inah’s face staring in astonishment at the sliding door.

“We will go there later okay? But for now, let’s eat first. You want porridge?” I asked.

Her expression changed quickly, her eyes widened and then he nodded. Somehow I also know how to fool a child. I took them to their seats, I just noticed that Cyron was also there looking at the magazine that was purely a model.

“Hi there babies,” Cyron greeted as the two smiled.

“I have a gift for both of you, but, you should finish your food first, is that clear?” smiling its question to the children.

Inah just laughed at him and Van just nodded at him, they quickly ran out of food so I bathed them. Lana also left so Cyron became my assistant in taking care of the two. I couldn’t help but feel sad because I could see my two kids playing with Cyron.

Sad, because it was their first birthday without their Father. I didn’t realize we had already descended the building and carefully ushered the two children into the back seat with me. The two were just naughty and couldn’t sit still because the two of us were just dancing. I always regret dancing in the nightclub then … I know they will inherit that when the day comes.

“When are they coming back Mama A?” I cut into silence.

Cyron looked at me in the front mirror while driving slowly. “It’s still a week, not sure. Why?” its question.

I just smiled at it then shook my head. Mama A and Alenna have not been in the country for more than a few days, I don’t know if they are in Paris now because I heard that a conference will take place. Paris is the center of fashion.

“We’re here,” Cyron said softly.

He stopped the car in front of a café, that’s not a normal café based on the exterior na look. Inah quickly stopped dancing when she saw that so she was the first to cling to me.

“Mama … Hey …” she pointed outside.

“Yep, play Inah?”

“Ahmm banban …”

“Do you want Mama to leave you there?” I asked.

He sniffed then nodded a few times while teaching that café. It was ridiculous that we opened the door and it lifted Van. When we got inside, many people greeted us. It is divided into two, the right side is all dining areas and the left side has a playground, that is right for parents who have children and want to relax. We were well taken care of, I laughed every time I watched the two twins staring at the playground where there were also children.

“Hi!” Inah said softly waving to the children playing there.

After Cyron and I talked, we brought the twins to play with them, we chose a place close to them because it was dangerous and maybe something bad would happen.

“You like it?” I asked the two.

“Balls,” Van said softly to Inah’s applause.

I let them sit on lots of small and soft balls and there were whatever shapes there were, there were scattered dolls. Only soft things are allowed for them.

“Happy birthday ‘nak,” I whispered softly then kissed the two.

Van kissed me quickly, Inah pinched my cheek with her small hand and then grinned.

“Mama … Tuttut …” he squeezed.

Laughing, I let it go so I could play. They just have fun playing, there are rocky soft balls and when hit they laugh, sometimes Van chases Inah so Inah crawls fast so that Van doesn’t get caught. From our seat near them I could hear their laughter, the pleasure in the ear to hear the laughter of the children. They barely stopped chasing when they heard a loud cry from another child who was quickly comforted by his mother, laughing I turned to Inah, her face also seemed to cry because of the child.

Didn’t Inah grow up bipolar?

She shouldn’t have imitated Nikasha.

“What will we cook for them later?” Cyron suddenly asked looking at the twins.

I sat down and sipped some coffee.

“Even if they don’t, they’re okay just playing games, what do they eat,” I replied with a smile.

“Even just one dish? I’ll cook,” he said with a smile that stared at me.

“Oh, come on, make sure they eat that too.”

“Yep,” its salute.

“By the way, does anyone already live in front of our building? That room there,” I asked.

I still can’t figure out why the twins are getting along so well. He frowned as he looked at me he obviously didn’t understand what I was saying. “Why?”

“As often as the two of them look there, they even wave sometimes, I don’t even see who,” I said.

“It was said that someone moved in, that house was named after the woman, maybe you just didn’t reach that woman,” he said as if I was convinced.

After all, I don’t have to see people living in the other building all the time. “Ah, yeah, maybe. I thought my kids were haunted,” I worried.

But I heard Cyron’s weak laugh. looking at the two children. “Don’t laugh at that thing, it’s so scary,” I scolded.

I just let him go and opened up another conversation, I just listened to the issue he was saying about our company, I don’t know if he is the non owner because of how much he knows. But in the middle of our conversation and it stopped because of the ringing of my cell phone. Cyron and I even looked at each other because as before that number was not registered.

“You don’t want to answer?”

“It’s nothing, maybe just the wrong number,” I replied to his surprise.

He just nodded and resumed the story but my eyesight on the cell phone got bigger because of the opening of its screen. I cringed because of a text message that popped up suddenly from the previous number.

[Happy 1st birthday to your twins.]

My mouth watered because of that message. I showed that to Cyron who was still frowning.

“Maybe it’s just one of your co-workers, they changed the number,” he said sipping coffee.

Impossible, only a few know my contact number.

“But they should introduce themselves,” I said softly only to think he could answer. I was about to release the cell phone when the new message popped up again which made me even more nervous.

[I’m happy for you. I guess I am.]
