Chapter 69

Kai's POV

Walking down to the jail cells I was apprehensive about seeing Kenna. She may not have been my friend nor did I ever think poorly of her either. She never treated me badly, but we never socialized, mainly because of Lysa. While I am grateful she kept Lysa safe I wonder why she was used as a spy? Thinking about it she has similar features to Diana, but that's even more reason not to send her here. Just what do they think they were going to find? Walking with Will down the stairs help steady me from the millions of questions running through my mind. Stopping at the bottom we look to the cell where Kenna was supposed to be, but she wasn't there she was in the one closet to Lysa. They weren't talking but that diesn't mean they haven't. Walking over to them face the cells they walk forward Lysa a look of distain and envy on her face while Kenna looked unemotional, but waited for us to ask our questions. Looking to Will I indicated for him to go first, “So Kenna I hear that your really a witch and you've been spying on us for a while? See anything out of the ordinary? Find any hidden secrets about us worth telling your Clan? Just so we are on fairer terms here,” he said asking all the annoying questions to see if she would rise to any of it.

“Only one and she's standing next to you,” Kenna replied matter of factly. Stepping forward I asked, “Wait, you knew who I was? The whole time? How?” She chuckled darkly shaking her head before looking back up at me saying, “Your adoptive father isn't as good as you think. He practically set up a bidding war between Clans to have use of you. Mine included. I am only telling you this so you will spare Lysa. Though she is stupid about somethings she still has a good heart. She's going to need your help with the mess she's gotten herself in with the vampires.” Remembering the attack I asked, “ Why are you protecting Lysa? What is she to you?” She hesitated to answer looking over at Lysa who kept shaking her head no. “I'm sorry Lysa. If I don't say anything we both die. I told you I'll be your strength. I'm her mate. Not fake, not made up, real and I can prove it,” Kenna said turning around pulling up her shirt to show a mark only Originals have when they find their mates. There over her left ovary was Lysa's full name and hers shining like diamonds tattooed in blue and purple a mix of the colors for their clans.

“Wow, well you still get your wish Lysa. You get to be a queen just not here,” I said looking at her with a very shocked look on her face. “Wait wait, I thought that was a drunk night and we got matching tattoos? Your telling me that's a real mating mark? I'm......lesbian??” Lysa said looking lost and confused, “No, no, no........ I betrayed my mate......no no no.” Kenna reached through the bars grabbing Lysa's hand saying, “Now is not the time for this we are short on time. The marriage proposal from my clan has now been fulfilled so I would suggest using what they gave you,” Kenna said looking at me expectantly. That's right it has, I thought. “I have a couple more questions ant then we will let you out,” I said but Will jerked my arm back saying in hushed tones, “What? Were letting them go?” Looking at him pointedly he let my arm go as I turn to say, “If you were keeping up with what she said she's now your sister in law and by royal decree ““they are to be kept to confined quarters not in the cells as they are royal visitors, even prisoners.”” I was correct in my assumption of who she really is. She's Diana's daughter the last of the Originals line of Witches. We have a political prisoner and if you want to start a war and hurt your sister in the process then go right a head and kill her, but that will bring more death and we both swore that would not be our legacy.”

He let everything I said sink in then sighed in defeat calling for his elite guard instucking them to have them both moved to the same room with 24-hr watch in the exits and windows. “Can you make sure magic can't be used in the room before they get their?” he asked me. Nodding I turn to head out then turned back looking at Kenna to say, “We are not done talking either.” Kenna nodded as I went up the stairs again heading over to the ambassadors wing to weave a confinement spell and cancellation spell on the room so no inside or outside forces could get in or out. It also stops portals as well in case Diana figured out how to get the book out of the box.

A came at the door and Nico peaked in saying, “Will said you would be here and there's a chance you'll be tired. Have you finished with what you were doing?” Nodding while rubbing my forehead from the loss of energy he walks over putting an arm around my waist then goes to lift me, but I shake my head no say, “Ill be even more light headed if you pick me up just help me stay up right and take me to breakfast. I have yet to eat,” I said as we walked out of the room as Kenna and Lysa are escorted by the royal guards and Will. “You okay?” he asked. “Yeah I'll be okay I need to eat. I feel ravenously hungry right now.” He laughed and said, “And you were worried about a couple pounds last year. Where did that though go?” “Oh shut up. You two work me to death with no food would do any one in. For that little snip I'll eat your food too,” I said jokingly to him. Nico is covering a laugh while the guards put Lysa and Kenna in their room. Before the door was closed I said, “I'll be back later, food and clothing with be brought to you. The bathroom is available to use at your leisure. And I know you can tell its impossible to leave or for anyone to get in without my explicit permission so your safe for now.”
