Chapter 50

*****Axel's POV*****

"Where is it?" I roar, slamming the car door shut.

I pulled up only to notice Nolan and Grey along with a few other guards standing outside the Alphas house.

"He's saying we need to wait a minute... he was caught up in something." Grey folds his arms irritatedly as I scoff.

"Fuck this!" I grit out, before walking up the steps and letting myself inside.

I almost laughed at the scene before me, as the maids scampered around trying to dust and fix up the house - some even gasping on my intrusion.

What a shit show already!

"Your leading wolf? Where the fuck is he?" I stop a random guy, watching him pale instantly from the interaction.

"Uh... I... He... I'm sorry your highness but I do not know what is going on! We were just told to fix the house for your arrival!" He scrambled for words, causing me to feel slightly guilty for picking him for my interrogation.

"His main office? Show me it!" I demand next, watching him nod frantically as I follow him up the steps - Grey and Nolan following behind me.

The guards were outside watching the girls in the cars. I wasn't having any of them stepping foot in this place until I had it inspected.

I glanced around briefly as we walked... of course this house was superior in every way, in terms of modern furniture and gadgets it was a breath of fresh air compared to the rest of this run down town.

It made me sick.

During the time that I wasn't properly tending to my Alpha duties… I still ensured that my own pack and kingdom remained wealthy and spotless unlike these so called pack Alphas!

We soon came to a halt outside two large wood doors, causing me to shove past instantly before barging my way into the pigs office.

"Get a fucking grip of yourself!" I roared at the sight.

Nolan and Grey entered behind me both laughing - causing him to turn red from sheer embarrassment. We watched as two naked females scampered away from the old mess of an Alpha as he sat in his crisp leather chair frantically trying to fix himself.

I just couldn’t understand why anyone hadn’t overthrown this mutt of a man yet?

There was a law set, stating that if the assigned Alpha failed at his duties, then any other pack member could be eligible to challenge him - if successful they could then take over as the new leader.

The only way to gain success was to fight the current Alpha til death.

There was no way that this overweight, creepy old man could hold his own these days... so then why was he allowed to proceed as the Alpha... there had to be more to what meets the eye.

"Shit! I... I was told I had at least twenty minutes before you all arrived!" He rushes to squeeze on his pants, zipping them as quickly as possible before wiping at his sweaty forehead.

The girls (who look around the same age as Dani) scurry past us and out of the room with their heads hung in shame - only making me angrier.

"Dillon look at the fucking state of this place! You're a fucking mess!" I spit out, taking large strides towards his desk now.

"Your highness... if I had been given more notice then I would have prepared the pack more for your arrival!" He retaliates, causing my hand to shoot out - clasping his thick throat in a vice grip.

He scratches at my hand in a panic, as my eyes burn holes into his own.

"I don't need to give anybody any fucking notice! I will go wherever the fuck I please do you understand me?! I didn’t want you to throw together a damn circus act either! I want to see this pack for what it has become... and so far it's a complete and utter disgrace!" I roar, digging my fingers in more with each word - tempted to rip his throat out completely.

"P-Please..." He croaks, causing Grey and Nolan to snigger at how weak he evidently was.

The damn bitches eyes were even watering… and this was their fearful leader? I don’t buy it.

These petty Alpha wolves could attempt to fight me back all they want but my Lycan blood just won't allow it. It wasn't a fair fight but that didn't stop me. I would kill them all if I had to.

Once his face began to turn a funny shade of purple I decided to drop the scum at my feet.

"Stay on the floor!" I demand, as he does as he's told - gasping for air on his hands and knees.

This was the so called 'strongest' wolf around here that was supposed to be leading this pack... upgrading this pack... and just generally providing for this damn pack and he quite clearly does not give a shit about them!

The Alphas of the West packs seemed to be a completely different breed compared to these ones. They at least had their packs under some form of control - not perfect - but from what I've heard a lot better than this shit! Some of the North and West Alphas had even offered the Kingdom support in numbers for our pack inspections which I respected - not that I needed it - but it will be rewarded regardless for their loyalty.

Those packs were at least trying. Not becoming corrupt and being run into the mud like this place!

On that note, with this pathetic man whimpering at my feet, I decide to mind-link one of my top guards to ask if we had successfully managed to overthrow the Gemstone pack cells and security yet...

"Yes sir! We have the entire pack under the Kingdoms control now!"

After the confirmation, I then decide that the cells would be the perfect place for the pig Alpha Dillon to remain until I sort out this pack. I need to interrogate him for information... otherwise I probably would have just killed him right now.

"Nolan can you deal with this pup?" I ask out of boredom, watching him still coughing on the floor beneath me.

"Please... I can explain it all... just don't kill me!" The begging starts, as Grey and Nolan snigger again - I too joining in this time at how pathetic he is.

"I'll see how I feel by the end of the week." I remark, as Nolan along with three other guards come in and drag him out.

"Grey I want a pack meeting arranged for 9pm tonight! I expect every single member of this pack to attend! Lock down the borders - nobody gets out or in without my permission!" I instruct him as he smirks and exits the room.

"Bring Dani upstairs!" I instruct one of the outside guards next to bring her up to me - feeling slightly anxious now that she had been out of my sight for too long here.

I decided that whilst the other guards raid this pack house for dirt, now would be a great time to raid the pigs office myself.

I glance around, taking it all in. The modern and flashy interior making me frown instantly. This pig was clearly all for himself... He is clearly working for someone bigger too... my own brother perhaps?

We will soon find out…

I cringe next at the smell, instantly moving to open the windows in the room in order to air out the rich smell of sex, sweat and smoke.

It was like a rich man's pig sty in here.

"Axel... is everything ok now?" I hear the soft voice of an angel ask from behind me, causing me to turn to meet her innocent eyes.

"Yes doll... thank you Jarred!" I nod at the younger guard, as he smiles bright and returns the nod before leaving.

He was a great fighter and a genuine pack member of mine so I decided he would suit best to watch over Dani if myself, Grey or Nolan was unavailable.

"I seen them dragging out a big man..." She trails off, stepping into the office and evidently cringing too at the smell.

"Get this doll... he was the one in charge around here!" I state with a laugh, still in disbelief.

"Really? He doesn't look like a leader... he gave me the creeps a little!" She offers me a smile although I could sense she was still highly on edge.

"What do you say then doll? Fancy helping me snoop around in here?" I ask, as her eyes widen from the involvement.

I'd rather keep her close.

"Sure!" She nods, before I head straight for his desk.

Now I just need to find the damn key for the drawer…
