Chapter 128: THE END

JULIET'S POV

I was moving slowly behind the two guys, being led straight to Gideon. As we walked for a few minutes, I could see his shadow looming ahead. His white teeth gleamed in the dark, and as we got closer, the lights above revealed more of his face. I could see his jawline, long face, and big eyeballs gazing directly at me.

"Juliet, so you've been warned," he said, teasing me as he approached. "Sent by your dad and Mark to come and give me this diamond. They're such cowards to send you to do their job."

I stopped in front of him, holding the black briefcase tightly. "Here's your diamond," I said. "Where are Mrs Claire, Olivia, Alex, and Diana?"

Gideon burst into laughter. "Why are you so in a hurry?" he asked. "They're here for the party. Let's enjoy ourselves before you ask about anyone. Pass me the diamond first. After all, you're in my territory, and you don't have the same freedom you have outside."

I stretched out my hand and gave him the briefcase. Unbeknownst to him, the diamond inside wasn't real – it was a fake one made by Khalid. Gideon took the briefcase, opened it, and examined the contents. He seemed to be checking if it matched his expectations – a big diamond in a four-inch shape with three pieces.

As he took the diamond, I hoped that our plan would work, and everyone would be safe. If anything went wrong, I knew we had to find a way to get out of this situation safely.

After a few seconds of walking with him, we arrived at a room doorstep. I stood before the room, waiting for him to open it. When he did, I saw Diana and Missus Claire with the lights off. But to my surprise, he pushed me into the room and locked the door.

On his screen, he ordered his men to lock the door on me immediately. "This is our agreement," I told him. "You promised to let me go and let the rest of my family go if I gave you the diamond. You have the diamond in your possession, yet you didn't keep your part of the bargain."

"This is unfair," I continued. "You're doing this for your own family, but for my revenge, you will pay for killing my brother, George. He helped you when your fifth mother was dying, and yet you breached our contract and ended his life."

Gideon laughed. "Your brother killed my mother and gave me money that belonged to my dad's company. How dare you say I breached our contract?"

I defended myself, standing up for what I believed. "Did you have to kill him? Now I'm avenging his death, and you're not going scot-free. You're going nowhere now."

As soon as he pushed me into the room and locked the door, Diana came to my side and put her arms around my shoulders. "Juliet, you shouldn't have come here alone," she said. "Why did Mark let you come here by yourself?"

I hushed her, noticing that we were sitting on a round table. I scanned the room for any CCTV cameras and spotted one. I spoke in a low tone, "Okay, I think it's time to blur this motherfucker's eyes."

I gave a coded message to Khalid, who was monitoring the camera. They all looked at me curiously, not knowing what I was doing. Khalid responded, "Done, Juliet. I've looped a five-minute video of us in the room, so we can discuss freely now."

I began to explain to Diana, "The diamond I gave him is a fake one. As soon as he discovers it's fake, we need to escape from here. We can't let him find out before we make our move. We have an advantage because Mark and Mister Jones won't give him the real diamond until they confirm we're alive."

Diana nodded in agreement. "Good job, Juliet. Good job." Olivia's voice cracked from outside the door, "I'm good, what are you doing?" Diana replied, "I'm good."

Olivia's voice continued, "Juliet is pregnant." None of us knew about it, and Olivia's eyes sparkled with surprise. "You're pregnant? How did we not know?" Diana smiled, and I could see the amusement in her eyes.

"I guess it was supposed to be a surprise, but I just decided to share my happiness in the wrong way, at the wrong time, and in the wrong place."

We discussed our plan, knowing we had to give them the right directive without revealing that the diamond was fake. Alex asked, "How is he going to discover it's fake?" Olivia replied,

"I guess he'll ask someone to test it. Once they find out it's not real, he'll come back here and drag us out one by one."

After a few minutes of deliberation, we heard the sound of the door breaking open. Gideon's voice echoed through the hallway, "How dare she! How dare them! They have the audacity to send me a fake diamond. Go and get me all of them, bring them out!"

We could hear the guards approaching our door, and we gathered around the front door, waiting for them to open it. Gideon was standing outside, his anger evident in his voice.

The guards burst into the room, their gruff voices and rough movements a stark contrast to the tense silence that had hung in the air just moments before. But before they could lay a hand on any of us, Mark dropped down from the ceiling like a ninja, taking down the guards with swift efficiency.

Diana and Alex jumped into the fray, their movements practiced and precise, and together the three of them quickly overpowered the guards.

Mark rushed over to me, his eyes scanning my face for any signs of injury or distress. "Hey, are you okay?" he asked, his voice low and gentle, his brow furrowed with concern. I nodded, feeling a surge of relief wash over me as he wrapped his arms around me.

Then he turned to his mom, his expression softening. "Mom, are you okay?" he asked, his voice filled with warmth. She nodded, a small smile playing on her lips, and the rest of us breathed a collective sigh of relief.

As we stepped out of the room, Diana grabbed a couple of guns from the unconscious guards, her eyes locked on the hallway beyond. "Ready when you are," she said, her voice steady. Mark nodded, his eyes scanning the area, and we moved out as a team, our senses on high alert as we prepared to face whatever lay ahead.

As we stepped out into the hallway, we were met with a daunting sight: Gideon and Diego, flanked by a sea of heavily armed men. Gideon's eyes blazed with fury, his voice cold and menacing as he barked out orders. "Kill them," he spat, his words dripping with venom.

The men closed in, their guns raised, and we knew we were in grave danger. Mark instinctively pulled me close, shielding me from harm, while Diana and Alex took cover, returning fire with precision and skill.

"Stay behind me," Mark whispered, his eyes scanning the area for any signs of weakness in the enemy's formation.

But just as all hope seemed lost, a burst of gunfire echoed through the hallway, and Camara and Khalid appeared, backed by a team of heavily armed operatives. Camara's eyes locked onto Gideon's, a fierce determination burning within them.

"Looks like you're outnumbered now," Camara said, a sly smile spreading across her face.

Gideon's face twisted with rage. "You'll never take me alive," he snarled, charging forward with his men.

The sound of gunfire filled the air, and the battle was on. The hallway erupted into chaos, with bullets flying and men shouting. Mark's grip on me tightened as we moved forward, trying to stay one step ahead of the enemy.

Diana's voice rang out, calm and steady. "I've got eyes on the left flank. We need to take out their reinforcements."

"Got it," Khalid replied, his gun firing steadily as he worked to flank the enemy.

The fight was intense, but with Camara and Khalid's backup, we managed to hold our own against Gideon's men. But I knew this wouldn't last forever – we needed to end this quickly, before anyone else got hurt.

The death of George and GIDEON'S arrest, on the other hand, marked the beginning of a new era. With the ruthless tycoon out of the way, my father saw fit to reward me for my bravery and cunning. As a wedding gift, he appointed me CEO of Novartis Company Ltd., a position that came with immense power and responsibility.

I accepted the challenge, knowing that I had Mark by my side. Together, we vowed to rebuild the company and restore its reputation, using our combined strength and wisdom to forge a brighter future.

And so, our love story came full circle. We had faced danger, deception, and death, but in the end, we emerged victorious. We exchanged our vows in a beautiful ceremony, surrounded by friends, family, and the promise of a new beginning.

As we danced under the stars, I knew that our love would last a lifetime. We had weathered the storms, and now we could bask in the sunshine of our happiness.

And so, we lived happily ever after…
