Chapter 100

“How is she?” Antonio inquired about Martina's well-being when Trey joined them downstairs after Martina had fallen asleep.

"She's resting now," Trey replied, making his way to the sofa and taking a seat.

"Boss, I apologize for my earlier tone." Diego, who was leaning against the wall, expressed his remorse.

Trey took a moment to look at him, then sighed before inquiring,

"Why didn't you inform me that Paco spared Valerie?"

"I assumed she wouldn't survive long, given her condition at the time," Diego explained.

"Now she's alive, and we have no fucking idea where she is!" Trey said in frustration.

"Boss, the video shows she's in a hospital. If we can trace the hospital, we can locate her," Diego disclosed.

"Why didn't you do that instead of coming here to inform me?"

"I've already asked the IT team at the base to handle that. I thought it best to inform you and check up on you. And I believe I made the right decision by coming, didn't I?" Diego asked with a smug expression that stated, "If I didn't come, your wound would have been infected."

Trey rolled his eyes and replied.

"I had planned to go to the hospital today. I would have treated my wounds anyway."

“Suit yourself,” Diego said with a shrug. He straightened up and started walking toward the dining hall. "I'm hungry. I'm going to eat. Care to join?" he asked, looking at Trey.

"Hey! I told you my house is not a restaurant," Trey protested.

"I don't remember you telling me that," Diego said.

Despite Trey's refusal, he proceeded to the dining hall.

Antonio and Susan sat transfixed, their eyes widening with surprise as they observed the unexpected interaction unfolding between Trey and Diego.

Since their arrival, they have witnessed a side of Trey that defied their prior expectations, leaving them utterly bewildered.

This version of Trey stood in stark contrast to the ruthless and unfeeling man they heard about.

“Daddy,” Clara said on reaching her dad. Trey reached for her and sat her on his lap.

“What is wrong, princess?”

“Nothing, Daddy, I just miss you,” Clara said, and he placed a soft kiss on top of her hair and said,

“I miss you too, princess. I am sorry for not making time for you yesterday.”

Clara nodded and said,

“It's okay, Daddy.”

Trey's lips curled into a tired smile as he leaned in and rested his forehead against Clara's head.

Exhaustion weighed heavily on him. He had wanted to curl up in bed with Martina, but he felt a need to conclude the conversation he had been having with Diego before Martina had interrupted them.

Throughout the whole of yesterday, Martina bombarded him with conflicting demands.

Before he finished one demand, she would change her mind, leaving him feeling frustrated and exhausted.

The situation continued throughout the night, depriving him of any opportunity to rest.

Late last night Martina told him she was horny and wanted to ride him.

However, just after a few thrusts, she stopped and got off him and said she was no longer in the mood.

He had to take a cold shower to cool off his raging monster.

And late that night, she was craving seafood, and luckily, Mrs. Cooper's niece could bring it over.

“Trey, I think it would be best if you could join Martina. You also need to rest,” Antonio suggested in a concerned tone.

“My thought exactly,” Trey replied, feeling the weight of exhaustion pressing down on him.

He looked at Clara and asked,

"Do you want to join me and Mommy?"

But Clara shook her head and replied,

"I want to stay here and play with Michelle."

"Alright, princess, you know where to find me if you need anything," Trey said, setting her down.

He stood up and headed toward the elevator. He wasn't feeling up to taking the stairs. As he waited for the elevator doors to open, Diego's voice sounded from behind.

"Trey, I just got word that the chairman is at the police station."

"Okay," Trey responded uninterestedly.

"What should I do?" Diego asked.

"Let him stay there for a few days. If he managed to pull a fast one on Lisa, he wouldn't fool me. Let him spend some nights there; they'll take good care of him," Trey replied, stepping into the elevator.

The Collins family has held influence over the police and military force in Country A for generations. This authority was granted to them under the condition that they would protect every future president of the country.

Unaware of this arrangement, Trey concluded Martina must have believed his grandfather when he told her he was going to surrender himself to the police when she informed him that she had met with his grandfather earlier.

He suspected that his grandfather had ulterior motives, but he chose not to press Martina for details, as he didn't want to cause her unnecessary stress.

When Trey made it to the bedroom, he unbuttoned his shirt and climbed into bed. Gently, he reached out and pulled Martina into his arms.

She snuggled against him and whispered words that he caught as

"I love you, Trey."

He smiled as a sense of relief washed over him, and he responded,

"I love you too, Jade."

He planted a tender kiss on her forehead before closing his eyes and drifting off to sleep.

Trey was awakened by the distinct sound of a knock on the door, and as he opened his eyes, he realized that the room was engulfed in darkness.

It's already evening.

Feeling disoriented, he sat up immediately as he noticed the absence of Martina beside him.

"What's it?" he inquired as he rose to switch on the light.

"Sir, dinner is served," the maid informed him.

"Is my wife already there?" Trey asked,

"No, sir. I was asked to come and call you and the madam," the maid replied.

"Alright," Trey replied.

Just then, the closet door swung open, and he turned towards it. His expression shifted as he saw Martina standing in the doorway, with a suitcase by her side.

"Jade? What's going on?" Trey asked, his confusion evident.

"What does it look like?" Martina retorted.

"I don't know; you tell me," Trey responded as he approached her, his eyes searching her face.

"I'm leaving," she stated bluntly.
