Chapter 27: Chapter Twenty-Seven

Everett

It was not part of the plan! Aubrey was supposed to go home at some point today, yet she is in my bed, next to me, sound asleep and naked. I rarely do sleepovers, never mind two nights in a row. She was going to leave after dinner, but I had other ideas in mind, which ended with us in bed, fucking for the last few hours. Now, I can’t send her home. It is late, and I can’t show that side of me to her so early on, or she will see right through me. I am not ready to be done with her or bored with her. I want to keep her around as long as I crave her. I need to make sure I don’t make a habit of it. I don’t want Aubrey to think this is more than it is.

Sighing, I glance down at her and shake my head. I carefully remove my arms from around her, climbing out of bed. I don’t want to wake her. A part of me wants to sleep on the sofa or in the spare room, but that won’t look good on my end. I quietly exit my bedroom and head to my office for a scotch and to do a little work. I don’t tend to work on my days off, but anything is better than staying in bed with Aubrey. It just isn’t for me. I will return when I am ready to sleep, or maybe I’ll “accidentally” fall asleep in my office. The sofa there is comfortable.

I arrive at my office, pour a scotch and settle down at my desk, taking a sip before switching my computer on. I have some new business proposals coming up soon. I may as well make a start on them. It will be less stressful that way. I get straight to it, enjoying my drink, and I am soon on a roll. I am soon lost in my work, not realising the time passing until I hear a knock on my office door, pulling me out of work mode.

I forgot for a while that Aubrey is still here. I sigh and call for her to come in. The door opens, and she steps in, her hair messy, and the only thing covering her is one of my tees.

“Why are you up? It is nearly four in the morning. Is it because I stayed over? Do you want me to go home?” she whispers, stopping in the middle of my office.

Yes, Aubrey, I do want you to leave. I wanted you to leave hours ago, but here we are. Oh, only if I could say that to her without upsetting her.

I shake my head. “No, of course I don’t want to leave. I couldn’t sleep. Instead of tossing and turning, disturbing you, I decided to come do some work,” I lie. “Come here.”

Aubrey is a little hesitant, but she slowly makes her way over to my desk, standing at the side of me. I push my office chair back, grab her hips and bring her into my lap. She giggles, her arms going around my neck.

“You should try to get some sleep, Everett.”

“I know. Why are you up? When I left you, you were sound asleep.” I ask, circling my fingers on her hips through the material of the tee.

“I woke to use the bathroom and noticed you weren’t there. I wanted to make sure you were okay.”

“I am fine. You should go back to bed. I will be through soon. I promise.” I smile and kiss her softly.

Aubrey nods and climbs from my lap, exiting my office without another word. The second the door closes, I rest back against my chair and groan. Now, I have to go to bed. If she didn’t wake up, she wouldn’t have known any difference. I finish what I am doing, switch off my computer, and head back to my bedroom.

Aubrey is curled up under the covers, but still awake. I slip in next to her. I reach for her and bring her over the top of me, claiming her lips in mine. She moans, kissing back. I smirk into the kiss and flip her onto her back, running my hand up her bare thigh and pulling it around my hip, rocking my hips to her. She gasps beneath me and slips her other leg around her.

“Fancy another round before we go to sleep?” I ask, tracing my lips down her jawline.

Her fingers entangle in my hair. “Yes.” She breathes out.

She is in my bed; I may as well take advantage of it. Aubrey doesn’t seem to mind.

I wake to an empty bed, searching for my cell to check the time. It is ten. Did Aubrey go home? Or is she kicking around somewhere else in the house? I hope she is gone. I climb out of bed, pull on a pair of boxers, and go to search the house. When I get close to the kitchen, I can smell food cooking, bacon, I believe.

Great, she is still here and making me breakfast! She had better not think we are more than we are. Should I be clearer with her? Taking a deep breath, I put my best smile on and stroll into the kitchen.

Aubrey is dancing around my kitchen, still only in a tee as she cooks. I stand at the doorframe, watching for a second. The tee rides up, showing her ass to me. Mmm, she has no panties on. I may need to fuck her in my kitchen.

“Good morning. When did you get up?”

Aubrey squeals, tossing the spatula in the air. She must not have heard or sensed I was here. I chuckle. Aubrey swings around to face me, laughing.

“A warning you were here would have been nice. About half an hour ago. I am making us some breakfast before I head home.” She smiles.

Good! It means she will be leaving soon.

“Thanks, sweetness. Can I help?”

She shakes her head. “No, it is nearly ready. It is only eggs, bacon and hashbrowns, nothing too exciting. There is fresh coffee in the pot. I am already on my third coffee.” She snickers.

“Thanks. Why so much coffee? Didn’t you sleep well?”

“I slept fine, but still exhausted. You tired me out. I need to perk myself up. I am meeting Erica for lunch later this afternoon. She will question me if I seem too tired.” She replies.

“No, we don’t want that,” I say.

Erica can’t find out where Aubrey really was. I pour myself a coffee, take a seat, and wait for breakfast. Aubrey soon joins me, sliding a plate across to me. “Enjoy.”

“I will.”

It looks good. It is nice to have someone else cooking for me for a change.

“What are your plans for the day?” she asks as we eat.

“Not much. A chilled day at home.”

I don’t have any plans, and I don’t plan on making any. It may change later if I am horny. I can call Aubrey or someone else. Someone else is probably the better option. I have already spent too much time with Aubrey this weekend.

“Sounds good.” She smiles.

I nod in agreement and focus on breakfast. The sooner we finish, the quicker she will leave.
