Chapter 15: Chapter Fifteen
Everett
I have no patience left. I honestly thought Aubrey would have broken and given in. I couldn’t have been more wrong. It has been three days and nothing. I tried to call, but she rejected my calls. I texted a few times, but she ignored those, too. I haven’t been to her place because I have been busy. I don’t like being ignored and doing the chasing. I don’t take well to it. I am surprised I am not bored yet. I tend not to play with the same toy for too long.
Aubrey can’t avoid me today, though. I am heading to my brother’s office. Where I will be for the rest of the afternoon. Hugo and I have business to discuss and an important meeting.
I arrive outside, park and head up to his floor. I am a little early. I can have a coffee while I wait, one which Aubrey will have to get me. I wonder if she knows I am coming today.
I enter, and the cute receptionist smiles and checks me out. I was going to walk by, but changed my mind. I can’t remember her name. I confidently stroll towards her with a smirk on my face. I steal a glance at her name tag before I say another word.
“Hello, Bailey. How has your day been?” I ask, flashing my best smile at her.
She blushes, “Hello, sir. It has been a good day. How has yours been? Hugo is in a meeting right now.”
“Not bad. That is fine. I can chat with you while I wait.” I reply and wink at her.
She giggles. It is too easy.
“I don’t mind you keeping me company.”
Of course, she doesn’t. I chuckle and rest against the counter, not breaking eye contact with her as I do. She can’t take her eyes off me, either. If I really wanted to, I could get her number and invite her to my place to hook up tonight. I won’t, though. The next person I want my cock buried inside is Aubrey, no one else, but I can have a little fun for now.
I chat and flirt with her. Bailey happily does it back. I am sure Hugo said she has a boyfriend. I don’t care about that. She is either single now or doesn’t care either.
“Everett, what are you doing here?”
I smirk at the familiar voice from behind me. She doesn’t sound happy. She is either annoyed at me because I am here or because she sees me flirting with Bailey. I excuse myself from Bailey and turn to face Aubrey. She has her arms folded across her chest and glares at me. I smile sweetly and stroll over to her.
“I am here for business. Didn’t Hugo mention I would be stopping by?”
She shakes her head, “He will be in his meeting for another half an hour.”
I step closer to her, barely any space between us. She shudders, and her breath hitches in her throat, “I came in early.”
“Why?” she questions.
“No reason.” I lie.
She sighs and pulls herself together, “Can I get anything while you wait, sir?”
“A coffee, please.”
She nods and motions for me to follow her. She leads us to Hugo’s office.
“Take a seat, I will make your coffee.” She smiles.
She walks away. Hugo has a section in his office with a high-end coffee bar. He loves his coffee. It sits in part of the room that is out of view from the windows and door, which is perfect for me. I can use it to my advantage.
I don’t take a seat like she suggested. I make my way over to her. I take my place right behind her. My front pressed against her back. She gasps and grips the edge of the counter.
“Why haven’t I heard from you? You have been ignoring me. I don’t like being ignored, Aubrey.” I hiss and place my hands on her hips.
“You know why. It is better this way.” She breathes out.
I run my fingers over the curve of her hips, “No, it isn’t. It isn’t what you want, either, sweetness.” I rasp in her ear.
“Everett, what are you doing? Anyone could come in. Hugo could come back from his meeting early.” She whispers.
I push the hair away from her neck, dip my head down and trail my lips along the exposed skin. Aubrey moans loudly and becomes weak under my lips.
“How long do you plan on playing this game with me? I am not a patient man.”
I bring her around to face me. I trap her between my body and the coffee bar. Her cheeks are flushed, and a familiar darkness dances in her pretty eyes.
“I am not playing a game with you.” She whispers.
I reach in and caress her cheek before I run my thumb over her lip. She gasps at the contact. Desire replaces her doubts. I take advantage of it. I claim her sweet lips in mine. I expect her to fight against it, but she doesn’t. She instantly kisses back, her arms around my neck. I pull her tighter against me and groan into the kiss.
Fuck! I never realised how badly I have been craving her lips until now. Her lips always feel damn good. I wish I could do more with her. I need to get her out of my system, or it will drive me insane.
Aubrey parts from the kiss first, “We need to stop. It is too risky.” She pants and pushes me away.
I chuckle, “Yes, ma’am.”
I take a seat. Aubrey is correct; it is too risky. I can’t allow Hugo to catch us. He would kill me. I rest back and watch her as she makes my coffee. I wonder how fired up I have made her. I bet her pussy is throbbing, her panties possibly wet. It is the effect I have on women.
She brings my coffee to me. I thank her, and she goes to walk away. I grab her wrist to stop her.
“Where do you think you are going?”
“Back to work.” She answers.
“No, you aren’t. Sit. You can keep me company until Hugo returns. If he complains, I will deal with him.”
Aubrey is hesitant. I use her wrist to tug her to sit down. She does, but moves to the other side of the sofa.
“You can come closer. I don’t bite.” I laugh.
“Oh, I am positive you do. I am fine here.” She snickers.
“Yes, that is true. I do bite. I like to bite.”
She rolls her eyes at me, “Why doesn’t that surprise me?”
I shrug, “I like what I like. We all have our kinks and likes when it comes to sex.”
I wonder what things she is into. I hope to find out for myself somewhere down the line. Sooner rather than later, preferably.
“Yes, that is true.” She smiles.
I nod and take a sip of my coffee. It is a really good coffee. Aubrey rests back and falls silent.
“I want to see you tonight,” I say, breaking the silence.
“No. It is better you stay away from me.” She replies softly.
I don’t have a chance to say anything else because Hugo comes in.
“I hope you aren’t annoying my assistant?”
I shake my head, “No, we are only chatting.”
He looks over at Aubrey, and she nods. I stand to greet my brother with a handshake.
“You are early. Sit and enjoy your coffee. We have a little time. Aubrey, I have emailed you some things over. Can you get it printed off, please? We will need them for our meeting.”
Aubrey quickly gets to her feet, “Yes, sir.” She smiles and disappears back to work.
Our conversation isn’t over. I will find her again before I leave. She wants to see me, but is too stubborn and paranoid to admit it.
Hugo makes himself a coffee and joins me on the sofa.
“I swear, Everett, you better not be making a play for Aubrey.” He warns.
“I am not interested in Aubrey. Will you leave it alone?”
It is a complete lie, but the less he knows, the better.
“Fine, but I will still be keeping an eye on you.”
He can keep his eye on me all he wants; he won’t see anything or catch me doing anything. I know how to keep things hidden and sneak around. It won’t be any different this time.
I will get what I want, and he will have no idea.
“You are paranoid.” I laugh.
“No, I am not. I know you well enough.” He chuckles.
He thinks he knows me. He doesn’t, not entirely. He knows what I show him, nothing more. I prefer it that way. My little brother doesn’t need or deserve any of my bullshit in his life. He deserves to have a good life after everything we have been through.
