“Ok, enough. Let go of me,” Xander shouted, and pushed them off him.
Alex was able to let go of him, but not Kim.
“Give him some space,” Alex pulled Kim off Xander.
“What is going on?” Jnr finally made his presence known.
“Come boys, to my office,” Alex said, and stepped into the elevator.
Blake followed them into the elevator.
“This is a family affair,” Alex stopped Blake.
“She is practically family, dad,” Jnr pointed out.
“You have not mated with her and one day she will find her fated mate if not you. So, no she is not practically family,” Alex said with a firm tone.
The look between Blake and Xander went unnoticed.
“Your father is right,” Blake said and stepped out of the elevator.
As soon as the elevator door was closed Alex spoke up, “if you open your mind to me, I can just show you everything you need to know.”
“And how am I supposed to know what is going on?” Jnr demanded to know.
“Watch your tone, boy,” Alex warned him.
Baily could not keep her eyes off Xander, making him shuffle uncomfortable.
‘I geuss now I know where I got my good looks from,’ Xander thought with his eye on his mother.
“Sure, show me,” Xander opened his mind to allow Alex to show him who he was.
By the time they got to Alex’s office, Xander knew what had happened.
“So, you are a Lycan, but my mother not?” Xander questioned.
“That is correct,” Kim said with a smile and a tear-stained face.
“Come, I will show you to my room,” Kim said, standing up, Alex and Jnr following her lead.
“Geuss, I don’t get to know what happened,” Jnr remarked sarcastically.
“Go let the Beta explain to you what happened. This is not about you. Why do you always have to make everything about you?” Kim questioned her son. Even though Kim was not a Lycan herself she has always been disappointed in the fact that her remaining son and her twin girls did not have wolves. She didn’t like the fact that she had been working alongside her husband to build his pack only for it to one day have to be handed over to another Alpha.
“Do you have a wolf?” Kim asked on her way to the bedroom that she has always kept ready for the day she finds her lost son.
“I do,” Xander said, looking over at Jnr feeling half sorry for him because he could see his father’s mind and the disappointment his father felt and how he lit up at the mention of having a wolf.
“Wow, how did I not know about this room?” Alex questioned, following them into the room.
“We thought it best not to let you kids know about Xander, in case we never found him,” Alex explained.
“Can I just hug you again? Please?” Kim pleaded.
“Sure,” Xander said, allowing her to hug him.
Alex joined in.
“Family hug,” Jnr said sarcastically before throwing his arms around them two, trying to remember the last time his mother showed him any affection.
Two teenage girls that looked the same stormed into the room. “Is it true we have another brother?”
“Oh. My. Word! It is true!” they said at the same time.
“Hello,” Xander chuckled, hardly believing that he went from a loner to full-blown family overnight.
Another woman stormed into the room, “it is true?!”
“I know I don’t look like it, but I am your grandmother,” Amber said before putting her hands on the side of his face, “let me look at you.”
Xander smiled at her.
Amber went into an embrace and then held him at arm’s length again. “Welcome home!”
“And you, my boy, you must have so many questions?” Amber turned to Jnr and placed her hands on his shoulders.
“Shame on the two of you for not informing him already. He is as much part of this as him,” Amber scolded Alex and Kim because she could see from Alex’s mind what went down.
“Come, granny will tell you everything,” Amber said and hooked her arm into Jnr’s.
“I will see you later,” she winked at Xander.
‘At least he has one person on his side,’ Xander thought, relieved.
“Wait for us, we also want to know!” the twin girls Bentley and Bianca ran walked after them.
“Let me start at the beginning. You see, when your mom and father met there was another woman, an evil human being. She was your great uncle Zeth’s daughter and she put a spell on your father to trigger a mate bond. She was lucky found out but then it was already to late. Your mom and father broke up and didn’t know she was pregnant. Somehow, this evil bitch found out and pretended to be a midwife. She stole Xander and made your mom forget that she had twins all while your mom kept you a secret from your father. That evil woman came home with Xander pretending she gave birth to him. One night at a ball, after this evil woman was rid of, or so we thought, your mom and dad hooked up again and what do you know she falls pregnant again. But that night was the night that the woman returned and stole Xander, never to be seen again. One day out and about we run into your mother thinking that you are Xander and tried to take you from her. It was then when we learned the truth.” Amber explained.
“It makes sense now,” Jnr said, staring into nothingness, pondering.
“What?” Amber asked with a frown.
“I am sure my parents always wished it was me instead,” Jnr said and turned to walk away.
“Don’t be dwarf. They are as disappointed in us then what they are in you,” Bianca punched Jnr on the shoulder.
“She is right you know. But your parents love you all very much even if they don’t show it as well as they should,” Amber said.
“Sure, if you say so,” Jnr snorted and turned to walk away.
“They paid a fortune to secure Blake for you so trust me they do care for you,” Amber spilled the beans.
“What are you talking about?” Jnr asked, shocked.
“I said too much,” Amber said, trying to change the subject, “lunch anyone one? What is the time?”
“Don’t change the subject,” Jnr said firmly and Amber could feel the Alpha authority exude off him.
“Without a Lycan Luna, the pack would go to another Alpha, so they did what they had to do. But, hey, you two fell in love naturally, so no harm done,” Amber tried to rectify the situation.
“Why would we have to pay them? Aren’t they like filthy rich?” Jnr questioned, fuming with anger.
