Chapter 119

**AMELIA**

Noah blocked me for the rest of the day. This is the second time he's done this since we've been together and I have mixed feelings about it. On the one hand, I'm hurt and at the same time... how can I say this without sounding like an asshole? It's relaxing. There, I've said it. I'm alone with my thoughts and it feels good. He should block me every day... well maybe not every day but at least once in a while.

My parents and the kids come back to the apartment and immediately come into the bedroom to tell me about their day. The twins are so attentive, they're careful not to be rough around me as they cuddle me. It's the best part of the day.

As I hold them in my arms, my father leaves the apartment to take a break and my mother sits at the end of the bed.

"What's up? How was your first day of enforced rest?"

"Honestly it's been pretty good. You can leave the kids at the nursery for the next few days."

She sighs exaggeratedly. "Your father will be delighted. He loves his grandchildren, but we're not 20 anymore."

I laugh. "I know. We get very tired sometimes too."

After chatting with her for a few minutes, I manage to convince her to leave me alone with the children, as Noah should be arriving soon. The three of us are on the bed reading a book when I notice my mate leaning on the door frame. It only takes a few seconds for the boys to notice and start jumping up and down on the bed.

" Hey, my champs!" He tells them, taking them both in his arms.

"According to my mother we shouldn't have too much trouble getting them to sleep tonight," I tell her, closing the book.

"Good, because we both need to talk." He doesn't let anything slip and his voice is neutral.

Am I going to regret what I said earlier? I shouldn't because it was necessary. He knows perfectly well that the two of us are bound together and even if I feel a "bond" with Xander, it has nothing at all to do with ours.
