Chapter 62 Showing What’s His
When they went down, Arabella knew how hard it could be for her to scream his true nature to everyone.
How difficult it could be to let them know how he had converted his own wife into a thing, into some sick possession, right?
Yet for some reason a hesitation cracked.
She was… unsure.
She wanted to leave? Yes.
To ruin him by exposing him? No… at least for the time being.
He was loved by all, respected by all, and deep down, even with Luke, she failed to rupture that; she hated herself for that.
‘Am I going to remain a thing?’
As they went down, her eyes were on William, filled with endless questions.
‘Whatever we had, was all of it a lie? What did I do that you were forced to consider me a thing and not love me anymore?’
Then she was caught in her web of heartbreaking perceptions, William’s hands abruptly pressed her back into his muscular chest.
Blushing at the unexpected contact before all, she shivered, glaring at him to stop openly encasing her like a chattel.
“Wh-What are you doing, William?” She whispered worriedly.
She could feel the eyes on them but merely smirking, he stopped right at her ear.
“Look,”
The second her gaze lifted, she saw Luke from afar. His hazel eyes flashed with betrayal, glaring outrageously at them.
‘If it was a misunderstanding, then why are you so close to him?’ He thought wretchedly, gripping his drink so tightly that a crack emerged on the glass.
Lowering her gaze with shame, Arabella pleaded with William.
“Don’t hurt him like this, William, have some mercy on your brother,”
His hand touched her shoulder, she flinched, holding her breaths back to perceive what he intended to do in public.
Tingers assertively so he could lock it to her midsection, colliding their heat.
Pressing their bodies together to display the connection which could convey this message to Luke- ‘She belongs to me now,’
“Why are you trying to show me off?”
Her chin raised to place her head adjacent to his. Narrowed eyes overflowed with disappointment when he nuzzled, lips brushing against her exposed neck.
This time, he decided to reply honestly, sharing his feelings.
“Since childhood, Luke got what I always wanted. From my toys, to my portion of love, at a certain point, I stopped complaining,”
William remained silent for a moment, closing his eyes to sink into the reality that his hands publicly on hers were no longer a fantasy.
It was real. The warm connection proved it and when it did, he smiled.
“In fact, after losing our parents, I willingly gave up it all for him. But, you are where I drew the line. I couldn’t give you up to him,”
Moving his hand to the front, he embraced her firmly, tone almost breaking as if he was begging. To whom? She didn’t know.
“He can take anything… but not ‘everything’,”
Without any intention of releasing, William kept them pressed together. She stared with stagger, attempting to comprehend the reasoning behind his possessive actions.
“For once, let me be selfish, Bella, let me show him that you are mine.” He pleaded with her.
Opening his eyes slowly and when he saw her staring intensely, battling with her dilemmas, he couldn’t help but to place a brief kiss on her lips.
Her eyes widened, stunned with a crimson shade adorning her features. Her mind blurred, resting her weight on his.
She forgot that Luke was here too.
The simple kiss made her baffled as he rested his forehead against hers, disregarding the audience he gathered.
For a heartbeat, William was vulnerable and expressed his true feelings.
“He always got what he wanted. Once, just this once, let me have what I desire too, please, Bella,”
His statement brought her back to reality. Her hand instinctively placed over his, questioning softly.
“Is this all to… hurt him? To show you won?”
He smiled, “No. It’s for my solace, that I can have what I want too,”
And without a warning he kissed her neck openly, uncaring if all eyes were scanning his desperation with shock and dropped jaw.
All that revolved on his mind was his woman and as he sucked his amusement out of it and pulled away with a trail of saliva.
Astonishing Arabella as well who stared at him in disbelief when his wet lips stopped right near her ears, completing his words.
“Even if this is immoral, I want to breathe into your existence, Arabella Grayson,”
“William…?”
“I have stolen you with incredible efforts, you will belong to me, in my world, with me. No one can interfere between me and my possession,”
The moment he growled, a startle began to emerge. Blinking, she regained her senses and parted her hand, unable to bear further.
She knew any more and he would expose his devilish nature.
“You are frightening me,”
Inhaling sharply, he understood and released her slowly. Their eyes moved across, embarrassment began to drop.
Chuckling faintly to himself, William scratched the back of his neck when everyone smirked at him.
“My, such desperation, William?” Jed teased.
“Couldn’t… control. Sorry about that,” William spoke sheepishly.
“Ah, no worries. I can see you love your wife too much,”
William smiled, holding Arabella by her waist, nodding in approval, “Hmm. Too much,”
But, her eyes shifted to search for Luke who was no longer there. Incapable of enduring further, he left and Peach saw the tears that shone on his pretty face.
“Damn you…” Hissing under her breath, she picked the glass Luke cracked before leaving and pointed at a waiter.
“You.”
“Yes, Ma’am?”
But, in the end, she was Peach Harrison, not so merciful and smirked darkly. “Pack this glass, I am taking it with me,”
The server was confused but agreed.
“Okay, Ma’am,”
Why did she get it? So she could shove it into Luke’s face and remind him about his heartache whenever she would feel a little cruel.
Plus, another evidence to prove his insanity if the situation ever required it.
When Luke disappeared, Peach came to the newlywed couple who just radiated their heat in the crowd, making the hotness transparent.
Yet not liking how low William fell, she confronted the couple.
“What is your problem?”
“What? What did we do?” William pretended to be oblivious.
“If you are that lustful then go and get a room, dammit. Why do you have to show it before all?”
“Why? Is it buring your single as fuck self? Or…” William leaned forward, teasing her with a mischievous smirk, “Someone else?”
“William, don’t,” Arabella whispered, pulling his arm back, shaking her head in denial.
“If you say so, Bella,” He smiled, straightening his back before holding her as close as possible to him.
“Well, since Luke is gone. There is no reason for us to stay either. Let’s go back,”
Unable to lift her gaze from the ground, she could only hum in response as they also left the party.
