Chapter 54 Warning Her
TO WILLIAM AND ARABELLA,
His words were logical but it only made her more miserable. Releasing a scary, suppressed chuckle, he sucked her tender skin, made her tremble.
“But.. but…”
“Hmmm? But what?”
His fingers slowly traced down, from her thighs, moving to her calf, gently back to her hurting feet.
Seeing her hopeless, he applied the gel on her other feet to relieve the pain and it fades soon while asking nonchalantly.
“Okay, in a hypothetical situation, let’s accept that you ran away, where you were supposed to run barefoot, with no money. The cops?”
She was confused about what he meant so she just nodded.
“Mhm,”
“They would have asked you to prove your citizenship. Can you?”
“I-”
She opened her mouth to argue but couldn’t as he was right, she had absolutely no paperwork to prove she was an official resident.
“What if the cops ended up arresting you under the label of a foreign ‘spy’? Or threw you in the asylum if I ended up saying ‘I don’t know you?’ Did you think thoroughly?” He asked sternly.
“How are you going to prove you are innocent? That we are married? I have the papers, you don’t, or that you are an England resident?”
“I- I-”
“Tell me, what is the proof you are not an illegal immigrant if I refused to help you?”
He was done applying as she gradually pulled her feet back, forming her lips in a thin line from embarrassment when he threw logical facts at her face.
“No.. I didn’t.. I told you. I just wanted to go away..” She mumbled.
“I have your ID, your passport, even our marriage license papers, whatever you intend to do was purely foolish, Bella,“
Hissing, she growled, pulling her hair from the dismal, hating to hear his lecture at this point when he was the one who drove her to the point.
“Okay! I get it! It was a stupid action! You are too powerful.. Okay, I understand. I.. I just want to run away from you!”
Merely smirking coldly at her whimpering, he grabbed her ankle, lifting it enough to push her down on the bed, providing him enough space to position himself on top of her.
“Why don’t you do it in your dreams?”
Placing their faces adjacent, snickering at her powerless state, shifting down, he placed a keen kiss on her neck, dragging his tongue upward to bite her earlobe, indulging in her soft whimper.
“Fuck you, asshole,”
Growling, she pushed him away, throwing him back to the ground, chuckling darkly when she was embarrassed and helpless, not daring to greet his eyes.
Dying his laughter, he stared at her for the next few seconds, feasting his eyes before rising, brushing the dust off from his coat.
Holding her dress, her lips were quivering, detesting how she always fell into his traps, dancing around his fingers that wrapped her eyelashes in tears.
Noticing her utter humiliation, William took a deep breath and gave her a glass of water believing she must be exhausted from the running before murmuring.
"Don't hurt yourself constantly. If I don't show it doesn't mean it doesn't hurt."
He sat on the bed too, giving her water to cool down.
“If your precious toy-”
Grabbing his wrist instead, she shook her head in denial as those words had stinging her ceaselessly.
“Don’t speak further please. For once talk outside the context of a chattel, William, I am not a thing, please,”
“Do you want me to lie like before? I can remorselessly do it this time too,” He whispered, still offering the glass.
“You just don’t get it,”
Speaking sorrowfully, she took the glass and chugged the water down, inexplicably disappointed in him.
Failing- No, not failing but ‘refusing’ to apprehend her point of view all due to this-
“Nor do I want to understand anymore. I have abandoned heartbreaks two years ago. I won’t allow anything to pierce my heart now,”
He exhaled cautiously, rising from the bed, unbuttoning his waistcoat and hanging his thrown coat neatly.
“I know,” She hissed.
Glaring at the man who failed to comprehend what wrong point he had reached, refusing to find redemption from that crazy state.
Done with him, she rubbed her temples and fell on the bed to fall into a deep slumber, wanting to be away from him, from his thoughts.
Yet no matter how hard she fathomed about it, she held the inability to find reasonings behind what changed him.
Or what caused such a drastic change in him.
And carrying those worrisome thoughts, she was perturbed but her husband was completely nonchalant about everything.
Frowning, she glanced at him from time to time one night.
'Say something, tell me something. Why.. just why?! What happened?!’'
William asked her, “What color do you want to wear?”
She blinked in confusion, coming back to her senses, “What? Where?”
“At the party, what color do you want to wear? We will match them,”
“Gray,” She absentmindedly spoke, “You love that color,”
“Okay,”
And after his warning, she wanted to avoid that party but it sadly arrived.
Leaving her with no choice but to wear the beautiful gray dress. Wearing the dress to show how exhilarating their marriage was going felt wrong.
So wrong to her.
‘What is he going to do? What should I do? Shall I seek help if I can?’
Although staring at her reflection emptily when she got ready wasn’t something fascinating either nor did she care how she looked.
All what lingered on her mind the whole time was-
‘I am scared, I am very scared, I don’t want to go anymore-’
Failing to notice the strong presence that crept behind her, holding her shoulders in a warning grip that hitched her breaths.
“Well, well, aren’t you the most angelic one?”
He chucked huskily, clicking his head against her, pressing his body over hers to submerge in the delight of it.
She shivered, unsettled at the touch. Anxiously staring at his reflection in the mirror, waiting for any explanation that never arrived.
Admiring their similar color for a minute, he stopped right at her neck, forming goosebumps all over her skin.
“Now,”
Inhaling her scent to intoxicate him, digging his nails to which she winced in pain when he threatened her seriously.
“Don’t you dare to do anything there. I am warning you, Bella, you don’t want to see my worst side, do you?”
She whispered, trying to remove his hand but to no avail, “William, you are scaring me, please,”
“You should be scared of me, My Precious,”
After etching his fear into her soul properly so she won’t seek redemption in any source there, his hands locked around her body, taking her to the party.
“Now, let’s go,”
