Chapter 110 Congratulating Him

Chapter 110 Congratulating Him
After the news of Luke’s marriage, a disheartening sensation filled William, he was hesitant yet came to meet Luke who was busy with his work.
Praying that discarding what happened, his brother won’t exclude him from his wedding- at the very least.
Watching his brother work wholeheartedly brought a feeble smile on his lips.
He was engrossed in his work as the door knocked, William was leaning against the doorframe, arms folded at his chest.
“Hey…”
Looking up immediately, Luke stopped all his work and placed his attention on William, rising from his seat.
“William? You? Here?”
Widening the hollow smile, he entered his cabin, closing the door behind him, clearing his throat.
“Yeah, I heard about the marriage,”
“What? Already? Who told you?”
William relaxed when his brother panicked, pouting like a kid when his surprise was blown.
A frown came to his features, walking towards him with visible discontent.
“Peach and I wanted to throw a party before announcing. Which asshole ruined it for me? Was it Helena? That witch-”
He was about to hiss but William chuckled anxiously, scratching the back of his neck.
“Aunt Liyah,”
“Oh, yeah, that woman too.”
Scowling to hear that, he folded his arms at his chest. The mention of their Aunt killed his merest softness, replacing it with strictness.
“She called when we mutually decided to marry and Peach told her happily, thinking I am close to her and shit,” Luke muttered sourly, telling the truth.
To share the biggest news of his life with her first was highly unsavory.
Forming a nervous smile, anticipating his fury, William trailed off, “She came to us, saying she will stay until your marriage,”
His jaw dropped, “What the fuck?!”
Hitting the table, Luke lost his composure.
“Why? I don’t even want that bitch in my wedding. What is her problem? Why can't she just leave us be?” He growled.
To share the news was unwanted for the man, to tolerate her presence at the wedding was another thing.
When Luke was enraged, William forced a smile, placing his hand over his shoulder, giving it a soft squeeze to help him relax.
“Don’t say that. She is elderly and only has us,”
Scoffing, he removed his hand rudely.
“I don’t care, William, she has done terrible things to us, worse to you. I will never forgive her. She can go to hell for all I care,”
William might have maintained the line of respect but his siblings refused to forgive the woman who ruined their lives.
They won’t ever give the one who broke their brother mentally and physically a second chance.
“Hey, hey, you are getting married. Don’t be so sour. She won’t cause troubles, just leave her be,” William murmured, hoping to lessen his wrath and not ruin his mood.
“Hmph,”
Rolling his eyes, Luke took a deep breath to discard his mind from undesirable thoughts, leaving the woman be and leaned against the table.
Still upholding the grimace, he asked, “So she is staying at your place?”
“Hmm, I requested Bella to not… piss her off. Helena must have told her about Auntie Liyah, she was glaring at her the whole time,”
“Oh?” That caught Luke’s attention. His brows raised in utter amusement.
‘The woman who wanted William desperately before the one he obeys mindlessly- What a challenging situation.’ Luke thought impishly, a wicked smile coming to his lips.
“Well, she deserves it.”
William said sincerely, giving him a side hug, “Anyways, congratulations,”
“You should be happy that I am finally going to leave your wife’s trail and move on,” Luke joked, giving his back a pat.
“Hmm, I am. And I know Peach is the best option for you,”
“I don’t know about the best option, William,”
Lowering his gaze with tentativeness, he could feel the clench in his heart, gritting his teeth with an undeniable truth.
“But she is the ‘only’ option for me,”
William asked in disbelief, “Even after everything she did to you, you are still calling her the only option. Still unable to let her go?”
“It would be better if she hadn’t returned to my life. But since she did, there is no other option left, William,” Luke replied sincerely.
“I see.”
Inhaling sharply to regain his posture, Luke pointed his finger at him playfully while giving him strict warning.
“Don’t worry. Unlike you, I won’t exclude you from my wedding. You better be at the front and complete your duty as my elder brother, you hear?”
Placing his hand over his heart to fake a bow, he chuckled, "Absolutely, I will, if you need anything, just let me know,”
“Of course, I will,”
They both had a staring competition before breaking into a slow chuckle, unable to stay angry with each other.
Luke’s heart was not strong enough to hate his brother, to cut connections with the man he adored, the one he considered his ideal.
“Anyways, I have a meeting, I will see you guys at the party, okay?" Luke cleared his throat, moving back.
“Yeah, sure. Take care,” William turned to leave with relief washing over him.
But, an unwanted sting traveled in Luke. Narrowing his eyes, repeating Arabella’s words, he asked once again for his confirmation.
“William?”
He glanced over his shoulder, “Hmm?”
“Do you…” He gulped, seriousness creeping on his features, “Do you love Arabella?”
Wullliam grinned, pulling his brother into a tight hug without a warning, patting his back.
“Bless you, Luke, may you find all your happiness in this bond,”
Whispering, leaving the answer unattended, he left for his workplace, leaving Luke baffled.
‘Why is this question so hard for him to answer?’ He thought in confusion.
He might have called Arabella a liar but watching his brother avoiding this topic solidified things might not be the best among the couple.
And it made him smirk.
She left him, cheated on him, chose William over everyone and everything- Look how she got him.
It pleased Luke when he found invisible distances in their so-called perfect relationship.
Staring at his empty fist, a determination surrounded Luke, swearing to himself.
‘You will see, Arabella, everyone will have their love except ‘you’. You  will pay for being so fucking selfish, I will make sure of it,’
