Chapter 212
“Can you give another excuse? Your wife is a real demon... She kicked me until my knee was crushed, and I couldn't stand up straight.”
They didn't believe him because they saw how fast and talented Ethan Legrand's wife was. She subdued them in a matter of minutes.
The woman they met in the park is definitely not an ordinary woman, but someone who has been learning martial arts since birth or has just graduated from a military camp.
Seeing them staring at him in horror, Ethan gradually feels in a good mood. He continues:
“So, you also have to feel what it's like to be traumatized and scared...”
All the gangsters were speechless. They wanted to beg for forgiveness, but when they saw the look in Ethan Legrand's eyes, the desire disappeared. It was useless; Ethan Legrand had already decided their punishment and fate before he even arrived there.
They could only wait to see what Ethan Legrand wanted to do to them. But whatever it was, they hoped Ethan Legrand wouldn't take their lives.
Ethan looked at Charlie beside him, leaned closer, and whispered:
“Defeat them all again. Don't kill them, but cause them pain they will never forget.”
After giving clear instructions, Ethan took a few steps back to give Charlie room to defeat them all. He would not dirty his hands and feet on people as lowly as them.
Crossing his arms over his chest, Ethan's eyes were cold as he watched Charlie kick all the gangsters until they were even more injured.
The wounds that had not yet dried reopened, and fresh blood gushed out. No words escaped their lips; only howls of pain could be heard.
Charlie beat them mercilessly as if they were his punching bag. However, he did not aim for vital points so as not to put their lives at risk.
After hearing the howls of pain slowly fade away, as if they no longer had the energy to scream, Ethan raised his hand, signaling Charlie to stop.
Then Ethan's eyes fixed on the gangster leader. His cold stare was enough to make the man unable to look him in the eye; he looked down and stared at Ethan's shiny brown leather shoes.
"Go back to whoever employs your... services, you fools.
Tell them they messed with the wrong, possibly deadly, enemy.“ Ethan's voice turned icy, and his eyes radiated disgust.
He continued, ”You can tell them my name, but what you saw in the park and here, keep it in your minds and hearts, take it to your graves. If there is a rumor about this, I will assume that all of you here were responsible for the leak, and I will come after all of you. You know you can't hide from me, right?
“Y-Yes, s-s-sir!” they all stammered weakly. They were happy, but at the same time confused.
The bandit leader was completely confused when he heard Ethan Legrand's order. He didn't expect that man to let them go, even asking them to mention his name to the person who paid them.
“Why did he do that? He should also hide his identity, right? No one knows he has a wife...” The bandit leader tried to find the answer. Even so, when Ethan's face darkened again, he immediately put his curiosity aside. He didn't want to anger the man, so he quickly nodded. “Yes, sir. I'll do as you say. I'll tell your name to the person who pays me,” said the bandit leader. He is not afraid of Ivan; however, he would never betray this man, Ethan Legrand.
If he betrayed Ethan Legrand, the man would not let him stay in this country, or worse. A man as powerful as Ethan Legrand could easily destroy anyone who dared to hurt him or anyone he loved.
Ethan did not respond, but looked at the three men in the corner. Then he looked at Charlie.
“Beat them too!” Even if you haven't done anything to my wife, I've heard that you're watching her. I can't stand to see my wife with dirty minds!
“Yes, sir!” Charlie nodded. “Is there anything else?”
Ethan stopped suddenly before walking out the door. He turned to face the gang leader and then looked everyone in the room in the eye, one by one. His gaze was piercing and frightening, causing everyone to appear paralyzed.
“If I see you after this, I won't be so merciful! So remember to get out of this city immediately!”
“Y...YES, YES... SIR!” Simultaneously, the seven gangsters shouted as they lowered their heads until they touched the floor.
Ethan didn't look back. He left the room and saw Julian and some guards in black tactical uniforms standing near the room.
“Where is he?” Ethan asked Julian as he walked down the hallway toward the elevator.
“Room 107, sir,” replied one of the guards waiting with Julian.
Ethan's footsteps stopped in front of the room. Julian entered first, after the guard opened the door for them, and Ethan followed him.
Room 107 looked different from the room where the gangster was being held.
It looked like an interrogation room at a police station, with a table in the middle and four chairs facing each other. A yellow lamp hung above the table.
The predominantly navy blue wall made the room seem gloomy.
Fabio, Joana's manager, immediately stood up from his chair when he saw the door open and a man with glasses enter the room.
His anger exploded. After a few hours isolated in that room, he felt his patience slipping away like paper.
Detained in that room, Fabio felt like a suspect about to be interrogated. However, the investigators left him alone to stress him out. When he could no longer maintain his patience, someone entered the room, causing his face to turn red and all the blood to rush to his head.
"So, you're the bastard who locked me up for days in this damn place?
Why did you do that?! What did I do to make you treat me like a criminal?“ said Fabio, pointing at the man with glasses in front of him.
Julian was speechless, but remained calm, ignoring Fabio's profanity.
”Who are you? Why are you holding me here? I'm going to report you to the police because..."
Immediately, Fabio's voice trailed off as his eyes fell on the figure of a tall man behind the man with glasses.
“Huh!? This man...? Why does he look familiar...” Fabio wondered, narrowing his eyes at the man, trying to see clearly.
It didn't take long; he knew who the man was: Ethan Legrand...
