Chapter 13: What’s next?

Jelena:

I can feel the air caressing my body as the morning light shines through my window. The strong need from the night before is just a controlled hum now. It’s as if my body was waiting for Traeger’s caress. I rub my leg up and down my sheet, recalling last night’s erotic episode, and I can’t help but wish he would have stayed. I know that I want to make love to him. No more small touches. I need his body riding mine to an ecstatic release. The mere thought of his powerful body taking mine makes dew collect at the juncture of my thighs. I ache for him so much. It’s surreal how the mere fact that he’s a Lycan does not bother me. Hell, it’s surreal that he’s a Lycan at all.

Letting out a resigned sigh, I rise from the bed and dress. I put on a light yellow, sleeveless summer dress with no bra and flip-flops. My family should be up by now. This time my dad and Mr. Morgan are preparing breakfast. And my mom and Mrs. Morgan are sipping coffee while the boys roll a ball around the floor. Giving everyone a slight wave, I sit in one of the kitchen chairs and sigh with contentment. My mom gives me a curious look. “Well, aren’t you chipper this morning. It looks like someone had a good night's sleep.” I roll my eyes, trying to control the strong beat of my heart at her words. If she only knew why I’m feeling so good this morning. I smirk at the thought of saying. Yeah, mom, I feel great after a sexy night with my Lycan boyfriend. How was your night? The expression on her face would be priceless.

However, I don’t say that. Instead, I say. “Yep, a really good night, mom.” My mom pats my hand with delight. “I’m glad, honey because today we’re going to a campground nearby. We’re all going to sleep under the stars and experience nature at its rawest. So get your sleeping bag and tent ready.”

My heart falls at her comment. If we’re camping, Traeger and I will not be able to enjoy some alone time. Ugh, and I really want to see him. Giving a sigh of regret, I try not to whine when I ask, “Do we have to camp tonight? Can’t we do it another night?” Mom gives me a reproachful look and sternly replies. “Yes, we do. Don’t worry, they have private showers and an outhouse. It won’t be that bad.” Before I can say anything more, my dad sets a plate of pancakes in front of me and mutters. “It’ll be alright, pumpkin. We’ll have fun.”

We spend the whole morning getting ready for the camping trip. My mom inhales, taking in the fresh air. “It’s going to be a beautiful night for camping. Let’s have some lunch before we leave. I don’t want to get to the campgrounds on an empty stomach.” As I lay my bag inside the SUV’s trunk, I give the path near the woods a longing look. “Actually, mom, I’m going to take a walk in the woods. I’ll take something to snack on.” My mom shrugs her shoulders with a snicker. “Alright, but be back soon. We leave in two hours. Have fun.” I give her a bright smile and a wave before I head towards the path. While everyone was packing for the trip, I had packed a small picnic lunch for Traeger and me. I packed it, along with a towel, blanket, and a few other things.

Taking the basket, I walk up the path enjoying the beautiful flowers and fauna. It amazes me how beautiful this place is. I feel at home here, somehow. I’ve been walking for about fifteen minutes when a tall figure lands right in front of me. My smile widens at Traeger’s brooding expression. Without another thought, I drop my bag and run into his arms. Traeger catches me around the waist and lifts me into his strong embrace and groans with pleasure. Needing to kiss him, I lock our lips in a passionate kiss. Traeger’s dressed similarly to the day we first met, with no shirt, low-rise cargo shorts, and no shoes. After a few moments of kissing and touching, we break apart. Our breathing is ragged as he slides me down his body slowly, never breaking contact with our bodies. Caressing his strong shoulders, I place small kisses across his shaved jaw and neck, then lay one last kiss on his lips before I whisper. “I missed you.”

His beautiful eyes gaze upon mine gently as he rubs his thumb across my lips and mutters, “I missed you too.” I smile and entwine my fingers with his before I usher him to my bag and pick it up. Traeger takes the bag from me and puts it around his shoulder instead. For someone who hasn’t been around women, my boyfriend sure knows how to be a gentleman. “Let’s go to our lagoon,” I mutter breathlessly as I lead him up the path. We walk hand in hand to the lagoon while I make a few inconsequential comments about the flowers.

When we get there, I open the bag and spread out the blanket on the ground, close to the rocks surrounding the lagoon. Then, I place some cutlery, fruit, and drinks on it. Traeger stands there, unsure. Giving him a comforting smile, I kneel sideways on the blanket and offer him a hand. “Come here; I brought something for us to eat and drink.” Traeger takes it and slides down next to me. He looks at the food then at me with an unsure expression. “Thank you. This is… unexpected,” He says, reaching for a bottle of water. By the way, I guess that he looks at the layout; he’s never been on a picnic. It makes me a little sad to know that. But it also makes me want to make it the best picnic for him. Once we’re settled, I take out all the food and hand him a plate. Traeger is not much of a talker, so I fill in the gaps; he seems content with it. As soon as we’re finished eating, I pack up all the leftovers. Traeger is leaning contended in front of one of the rocks with one knee bent, and the other stretched out. Feeling frisky, I crawl towards him and sit between his legs. Trager pulls my back to his chest and wraps his hands around my waist. It’s a romantic moment for us.
