Trevor and I are business partners, but we became good friends because we get along well. We were out drinking one night and I saw a photo of you in his wallet. That’s when suspected you might be the daughter my aunt had been searching for all these years. So, I asked him to help arrange a DNA test between you and Aunt Bella, and I was right
After Harry finished speaking, he noticed Cassandra’s shocked expression and asked in surprise, “You didn’t know, for real?”
Cassandra bit her lip and shook her head. She really had no idea about it. Moreover, she didn’t understand why Trevor had done so much in secret without telling her anything. Also, how did her photo end up in his wallet?
“Trevor, I think you and my cousin need to have a proper talk. Cassie, taking over the company can wait. I believe you two have more important things to discuss.” After that, Harry left, giving them privacy.
Cassandra turned to Trevor, eyes full of questions
“Why did you help me so much without saying anything?” She knew a little about Trevor. He was ruthless and was known as the “King of Hell.” Even Samuel was very wary of this uncle.
Instead of answering her question, Trevor asked, “What about you? You knew Samuel didn’t love you, yet you were still so devoted to him?”
“Before the Nolans adopted me, he saved me when the orphanage kids bullied me and pushed me into the water. When I discovered that the Nolans were coming to the orphanage to adopt a child, I did everything I could to impress them, just so I could leave with him. Everyone says that I’ve liked Samuel since I was 18, but that’s not true..I’ve liked him since I was 10 years old. I’ve liked him for 12 years.
Cassandra’s heart still ached as the long–buried past was brought up again. Suddenly, Trevor let out a low chuckle. “So, it was because of that?”
His dark eyes locked onto hers and he spoke slowly, “What if I told you that I was the one who saved you back then?”
Boom! Cassandra’s mind went blank. “W–What?” Had she spent twelve years loving the wrong man?
Trevor let out a cold laugh and retorted, “How did you determine that he was your savior?” “I never saw my savior. He left before I could, but my friends at the orphanage told me it was the son of the Nolans.” Cassandra instantly od everything. Trevor was also the Nolan family member. He had been the one who saved her all those years ago. Back then, she had assumed it was Samuel because his parents came to adopt a child soon after. She had never even asked him about it. Her hands turned cold, her emotions a tangled mess.
Trevor’s voice was calm. “I don’t normally care about others, but I saved you that day. When we met again, you didn’t recognize me. I thought you were heartless, but it turns out you just mistook me for someone else.”

you just mistook me for someone else.
Cassandra felt both embarrassed and angry. “I… I’m sorry, I…
Trevor interrupted, “If you really want to make it up to me, accept my love and be with me. L will never let you suffer again. As my wife, even your adoptive parents will have to call you Madam. Miss Barnes, what do you say? Will you consider my proposal?”
Cassandra’s mind was in chaos. She subconsciously asked, “Why me?”
“Cassandra, I like you. Can’t you tell? Otherwise, why do you think I would help you again and again?”
“But I’ve been married, pregnant, and I may never have my own children in the future,” Cassandra mumbled.
Trevor disagreed. “I like you, not your womb. It’s better to have no children. If you children, you can adopt one.”
