Chapter 598: Proposal

"Not only that, the Lawson family has produced high-ranking officials and numerous business moguls," Oscar said, pride gleaming in his eyes. He glanced at the ancestral tablets, as if he could see the glorious past of the Lawson family.

Behind the vault were five small doors, each containing the family's treasured heirlooms: medieval gold coins, antique paintings, and calligraphy collected from various countries. The treasures were dazzling and countless.

Under the light, these treasures sparkled with a captivating glow, as if they were telling their own stories.

Oscar walked to the middle door, opened it, and took down an emerald green necklace from the top rack. The necklace was a vibrant green, crystal clear, exuding an aura of nobility and mystery.

Oscar carefully placed the necklace in a box and handed it to Jett, saying, "This necklace has been worn by the hostess of our family for generations. After your grandmother passed away, I was supposed to give it to your mother, but she passed away before she could keep it for two years."

A trace of sadness and helplessness flashed in Oscar's eyes as he continued, "Your father's second wife didn't bear any children for the Lawson family, so she didn't deserve this necklace. That's why I've kept it in the vault."

"If Emily can marry you, take this necklace and propose to her. Make it as grand as possible."

Oscar's eyes gleamed with anticipation and excitement as he looked at Jett, as if he could already see Jett and Emily's happy future.

"You need to show the world that you, Jett, are marrying Emily out of genuine strength, and also demonstrate the Lawson family's sincerity." Oscar's voice was firm and powerful, hoping Jett would understand his intentions and successfully marry Emily.

Jett asked, "Grandpa, don't you care that Emily already has two kids?"

Oscar laughed heartily, patting Jett's shoulder. "You silly boy."

"You should know that Joe has already made his will, and the Watson family's assets will go to Emily's two children."

"If Emily marries you, as the heir of the Lawson family, you and Emily are still young and will naturally have your own children."

"Then, barring any surprises, the Lawson family's assets will be inherited by the children you and Emily have together. Isn't that more advantageous than just marrying Emily?"

"Of course, in a family like ours, business and personal relationships are intertwined. I also see that you genuinely like Emily."

"Moreover, I have to admit, Emily is a good kid. She's brave, resourceful, and wise. She'll be a great family heir and a wonderful wife. Trust me, I have a good eye for people."

Jett replied, "Yes, Grandpa, I always trust you."

"Go, my boy, make sure you succeed." Oscar's eyes were filled with encouragement and expectation as he watched Jett leave, silently praying for his success.

At the Watson Manor, Emily woke up as usual, prompted by her internal clock. After freshening up, she joined her grandfather and two children for a warm breakfast.

Joe was in an exceptionally good mood today, his eyes gleaming with barely concealed joy. He kept glancing at Emily, wanting to say something but holding back.

Finally, after Emily finished a bowl of carefully prepared bird's nest soup, Joe couldn't contain his excitement any longer. "Emily, head to the office early today. Jett's waiting for you at the door."

Mentioning Jett made Emily's heart skip a beat. After yesterday's high-profile pick-up and drop-off, she was a bit apprehensive about Jett's flamboyant style.

She was naturally reserved, valuing tranquility and a low-key lifestyle, not used to being the center of attention. This sudden high-profile behavior left her feeling a bit lost.

Vincent was the same. No matter how wealthy or talented he was, he always maintained a low-key and humble demeanor, never showing off.

Among the people Emily had met, Ethan was an exception. He always acted flamboyantly.

But back then, Ethan hadn't yet made it into the top echelons of society, and his abilities were somewhat mediocre. His most outstanding feature was perhaps his handsome face.

Seeing Joe's urgency, Emily hesitated slightly.

Joe noticed and, after a quick glance at her, said, "The clothes you're wearing today aren't suitable for the camera."

Emily turned her head in confusion and asked, "What camera?"

Joe suddenly realized he had misspoken and quickly waved his hand. "Go change into something else. The new season's light blue high-waisted pleated dress that arrived yesterday afternoon would look great on you."

Emily sighed inwardly, realizing there must be something special planned for today.

Otherwise, her grandfather, who usually didn't care much about her attire, wouldn't be so concerned about her outfit.

Despite her doubts, Emily chose to go along with it and went back to her room to get ready.

When she reappeared, sure enough, Jett was waiting at the manor's entrance with a brand-new, bright red sports car. The car gleamed under the sunlight, drawing everyone's attention.

Jett was dressed in a sharp suit, his hair meticulously styled, looking every bit like a groom about to walk down the aisle.

Emily took a deep breath, trying to calm herself. She smiled as she accepted the large bouquet of fresh flowers from Jett and softly said, "Good morning," before getting into the car.

She knew that since this was the path they had chosen, even if she felt reluctant, she couldn't change it now. She had to go with the flow.

Upon arriving at the company, Jett didn't leave as usual but followed Emily closely, walking with her to the spacious plaza of the Watson Group.

As Emily walked, she realized her crossed-arm posture seemed too aggressive, giving off an unapproachable vibe.

She pursed her lips slightly, feeling a bit awkward, and let her arms fall to her sides, then clasped them behind her back. She glanced at Jett, looking somewhat like a shy young girl experiencing her first crush.
