Chapter 21 Reject me, Alpha Damian!
CHAPTER 21.
\-LILITH-
“Talk to me, Lilith… you are making me so worried”
Becky inquired.
I shook my head, turning against the wall and wiping the tears off my face, but as stubborn as my tears could be, it kept spilling out uncontrollably.
“I'm fine, Becky.. you don't have to worry”
How can I not be worried when you returned back to the room, crying your eyes out. Did anyone bully you? Did Alpha Damian do something? You didn't return to the room last night. Is everything okay?”
My chest feels heavy just by thinking about it. I feel like I need someone to talk to. Would it be okay if I talk to Becky about it?
Can I really trust her?
I lifted myself up… and looked at her with teary eyes.
“Actually, there's something you need to know, Becky.”
She sat down properly.
“Sure! Tell me”
“Can I trust you? Can I trust you to keep my secret?”
Her brows curved into a deep frown, obviously confused.
She held my hand and squeezed it softly.
“You can trust me, Lilith. I'm your friend, remember… you can depend on me”
I stared deeply into her eyes and all I could see was someone who was sincere.
I'm going to trust my gut feeling.. My instincts never fail me.
“I spent the night with Alpha Damian”
Lips pat open, eyes round in shock and almost popping out of its sockets.
“What!!!” Her voice was so loud that I had to slam my hands over her mouth, shutting her up.
I don't want to attract the attention of others. That will be a disaster.
“Keep your voice down, will you?”
“You mean to tell me that you.. Lilith, slept with Alpha Damian?”
I lowered my head, playing with my fingers.
“Yes.. And it's not the first time. Actually, Alpha Damian and I met at the Pack before I was sold off. Under the influence of alcohol, I approached and demanded we get intimate. That was our first night together”
I took my time to explain in detail to her. The connection Alpha Damian and I have and most importantly, what happened last night.
She listened with rapt attention. Her eyes almost fall out from its sockets by how shocked she is listening to the truth which seems like a lie.
Of course, who would ever believe that an Alpha King and an Omega slave are mates?
“Pinch me, Lilith”
“what?”
“Go ahead and pinch me”
I didn't understand what she meant but I pinched her. She winced.
“So this is real…”
“Snap out of it, Becky… I'm literally telling you the truth”
She suddenly pouts her lips.
“In as much as this sounds like good news, I can feel your pain Lilith. I know you expected pretty much, yet he acted like every other man. No one wants to have anything to do with a mere slave”
I sighed deeply.
“I guess we would never have the good things others have. My entire hope has been crushed. Yet he almost made me believe we shared something”
Becky hugged me tightly..
“I'm sorry, Lilith. But it happens sometimes. Life can be so full of unfortunate incidents. We just have to let it go. He's the Alpha King regardless…”
I nodded, settling into her embrace.
I felt light after talking to her about it. It's true what they say… A problem shared is half solved.
I think I can finally breathe.
“Oh.. How nice it would have been to have you as a queen. I know you are going to raise this pack to a whole different level. Take Nerida down and stop bullying amongst maids and slaves…”
“It's a dream that's never going to happen.. So wake up”
She pouts her lips.
“What if it eventually comes true? You never can tell, Alpha Damian might accept you. Perhaps you need a little time”
I scoffed loudly.
“In your dreams, Becky.. Is this you trying to tease me?”
She shook her head negatively and chuckled.
________________
Two days later, I turned into a stranger to Alpha Damian.
No.. scratch that. We have both turned into strangers.
He doesn't steal glances at me anymore and I also focus more on my work without staring at him as well.
I always keep a straight face and on his path, It bothers me a bit.
Does that mean everything to him was a game?.. And here I thought he cared enough to make me feel better.
I regret everything.
Princess Rivera is still in the palace. I have no idea what's happening right now with her engagement process with Alpha Damian but I think in a few days, she will be engaged to him and then become the queen of Blood Moon Pack.
I feel sad about it but I decided not to jet it affect my work.
Rumours are already flying around the pack about Alpha Damian and Princess Rivera.
They express their delight because she's a princess. They said they are both fit for each other.
I don't let those comments weigh me down.
As I moved up the stairs absentmindedly, I didn't realize there was someone in front of me until I walked over her.
“Hey!!.. Watch where you are going” She snapped.
“I'm sorry..”
Because I'm not in the mood for her bickering, I had to apologize so things didn't escalate more.
“Hey!... She grabbed my arm, preventing me from leaving.
“What is it, Nerida… I have to get to the Alpha's room”
She scoffed and gave me an evil smirk. I could tell it's an evil one because her eyes say it all.
“As innocent as you look… You're like a scorpion that stings. I'll take back what's mine”
I have no clue what she meant by that. Before I could react, she let go of my arm and walked away.
I watched her until she was out of sight, then I shrugged my shoulders and proceeded to the Alpha's room.
Perhaps, she mistook me for someone else. I have never taken anything that belongs to her.
I let it go and don't read much meaning into it.
As usual, I did my work in Alpha Damian's room and proceeded to the study room.
There he was, reading through some books.
“I'm here to clean up, Alpha Damian” I told him.
“Hm”
That was all the response I got from him and I didn't care less. I went down to doing my business, cleaning and wiping off every dust particle on the shelf and tables.
Soon, I was done. Without a word to him, I walked towards the door but halted on my steps when he called out my name.
“Lilith?..”
I turned around slowly, my head lowered to the ground.
“Yes?..”
“Why don't you say what you have in mind rather than keeping everything locked up in your head. C'mon, say it”
I took that as a clue to say what I have in mind. I've had it locked up in my head for days and it's killing me.
I have one thing left to say to him. I would rather say it now.
I looked up at him, our gaze met.
With a deep breath, I let the words roll out of my lips.
“Reject me, Alpha Damian”
