Chapter 18 Spend the night with me, Lilith.
CHAPTER 18.

Anxiety filled me as Alpha Damian's deep voice ushered me into his room. I walked in, feeling the tension in the air.
I don't know what's next for me.. really!
But, there he was, looking out the window with arms folded to the back.
“You.. you sent for me, Alpha Damian” I tried hard not to stutter even though my lips quivered.
I searched for Lena in my head but she has gone silent… way too silent and I feel it's just me against Alpha Damian.
He turned around slowly and before his eyes met mine, I lowered mine to the ground, fondling with my fingers.
Then, he began to approach me.. His steps were slow and steady until he stood right in front of me.
Before I knew it, I found myself going on my knees and apologizing.
“I'm sorry Alpha Damian, I'm really sorry. I didn't mean to ruin your meal with Princess Rivera. Please, forgive be this once and I promise it won't happen again”
There was no reaction from him and for a split second, I wondered if this made him more furious.
I can't even bring myself to look at him.. not when his presence alone makes me shiver.
I feel like the next thing he'd do is pull out a sword and maybe have my ear cut off.
I was scared… I'm so scared.
But then, I suddenly felt his hands on my shoulders and he pulled me up. I was still shivering in fear.
His hands moved to my jaw.
“Look at me..Look at me, Lilith”
I couldn't bring myself to, but his calm voice made me look at him.
It wasn't like I expected… I expected a fierce looking Alpha but here I am, staring at a different person.
His facial expression was a calm one… His eyes, doled with sadness, care and passion.
He stared directly at mine. The uneasiness I felt earlier is gone. Rather, I felt warmth just by staring into his eyes.
His hand graced my cheeks, caressing it softly… The smoothness in his palm made my heart feel warm.
“Did it hurt?.. I'm sure you were in a lot of pain”
“what?” I let out, surprised at his question and how his eyes lingered on my cheek.
He didn't respond but leaned down and placed a lingering kiss on my cheek.
My eyes grew round in shock.. Did he just kiss me? Like hell.. He just kissed me.
He held my hand, led me to his bed and made me sit.
I couldn't think of anything else but just the kiss.. I'm too speechless right now to think of anything.
Alpha Damian went to his wardrobe, pulled out a towel and crouched down before me and began wiping off the bloodstains on my bruise.
The Alpha of Blood moon pack is kneeling before me and tending to my wounds.
Thin lines of frown formed on his forehead as he gently cleaned up my bruise.
“Ouch” I winced.
He blew soft air on my skin.. easing the pain I felt.
I watched him carefully. Why is he doing this for me? Why is he being so extra caring towards me?
My mate, Sylas.. is the Beta's son, yet he rejected me because of his status and that of mine.
Yet.. I have a connection with Alpha Damian. Rather than being upset about it, he's being affectionate towards me.
“I shouldn't have let this happen… She had no right to hit you”
“I made a mistake, Alpha Damian… I spilled water on her dress. I deserved to be slapped for being so careless”
He looked at me briefly, then back at my bruise.
“No one has the right to hit you, Lilith… Not under my watch”
A small smile crept in my face thinking about how sweet and heartwarming his words felt.
But suddenly, realization dawned on me. The fact that I was nothing but an Omega. It doesn't matter if I have a connection with him or whatever.. I am still a slave.
And slaves don't fit into the status of royalty.
Besides, he's getting engaged to Princess Rivera. Do I have a chance to fit in?
A big capital no.
I withdrew my hand from his and stood up, moving away from him.
He rose to his feet.
“What is it? Is there something wrong?” He asked.
I bit my lower lips, hoping what I'm about to say doesn't upset him.
I took in a deep breath and said..
“With all due respect, Alpha Damian, you don't have to stop anyone from punishing me. I'm a slave and it's only fair to be punished when I do something wrong. I carelessly spilled something on her dress and what she did isn't wrong….” I said without looking at him, but I wasn't done yet.
“You don't have to be extra affectionate towards me. It's going to spark rumors and besides, you are getting engaged to Princess Rivera, it's only nice if we disconnect every connection we have. Once again, I apologize for being careless, it won't happen again”
“Is that all you have to say?” He asked.
I nodded positively.. sure that I meant every single word I said.
“That will be all, Alpha.. I'll take my leave now”
I turned, walked to the door and grabbed the door knob. But before I could turn it, he called out to me.
“Lilith!!!”
I didn't look back.
“Spend the night with me, Lilith…”
That's when I finally looked at him, turning away from the door completely.
My lips hung open as I fought to understand if he really said that to me. Or maybe I heard wrong.
“What?”
“Spend the night with me”
His voice held so much weight.. The atmosphere in the room became tense.. His burning gaze made my heart beat rapidly.
I should turn and leave. Decline his request and run back to the slave quarters as fast as my legs could take.. but none of that happened.
My silly legs refused to move an inch, but rather stayed glued to the ground.
“I…” I wanted to speak but I lacked words.. I couldn't even think straight.
He covered the distance between us, grabbed my shoulders and slammed my back slightly against the door.
He lifted my head up.. His cold hands caressing my cheek with his thumb brushing on my lips.
His other hand wrapped around my waist, pulling me closer.
I could feel his presence.. his aura and his breath fanning gently on my face.
His eyes held so much desire and with one look into my eyes, he whispered in a soft tone.
“Spend the night with me, Lilith…”
