Chapter 27 Convoy

What I don’t know is if I was just hallucinating or if Kael’s voice really did make my room shake. I could feel my heart pounding loudly even without turning around to look at him. Aya’s body trembled with fear as she fastened the final clasp on my sandals before standing up and bending herself into an exaggerated bow.
“Please forgive me, master,” she whimpered in a low, almost inaudible voice, begging for forgiveness as though she had committed a grave crime against Kael.
I blinked, unable to move. My back snapped, and my body stiffened. My heart went crazy in my chest as soon as I felt a warm, heavy breath fanning at the base of my neck.
“I told you to get ready in two hours, but it took you more than three. Didn’t I made myself clear?”
My breath caught in my throat as a pair of enormous hands grasped both of my arms, his low and dangerous tone resonating against the lobe of my ear, his lips sensually grazing the tip, causing an involuntary shudder down my spine and goosebumps to appear on my skin.
My gaze went to Aya, she still had her body bent, and Kael completely ignored her. I feel bad for her. It is my fault, and there’s no one else Kael should blame but me. I was taking too damn long in the shower and made things worse for her. The bruise on the corner of her mouth served as a grim reminder not to disobey Kael’s order. I don't want anything like that to happen again. She had done nothing wrong, and I don't want her to suffer at the receiving end of his wrath.
“It isn’t Aya’s fault. I lost track of time when I went to shower.” I admitted, my mind drifting consciously towards the hardening bulge pressing on my lower back just as his grip on my arms tightened.
I swallowed hard. A warm, slick tongue licked the base of my ear, sending a tumultuous warm sensation down to my belly and moisture between my legs.
“Would you rather take the punishment, then? I would love to tear this tiny dress of yours.” He growled slowly, his chest rumbled on my back, and my knees turned to jelly. By this point, I would have melted to the floor if it weren't for his grip on my arms, which was now sliding up to my shoulders. That punishment he's talking about is just sending a strange sensation down to the pit of my stomach. I know I hated this man, and what happened last night was not a pleasant memory to relive, but damn, I'm pooling.
I'm crossing my fingers that the underwear thing stays attached to my crotch for dear life. I could not take any humiliation swallowing me up if that thing came loose. Just the notion of it made me feel my face starting to burn, and I hoped that Aya had applied enough layers of makeup to cover up my extensive flush.
Aya was still bent forward in front of us, and I could see her body trembling, not out of fear, but out of exhaustion from staying in that position. I was about to open my mouth and tell her to stand up straight when another voice, which I believe belonged to Val, barged into my room, getting Kael's attention and dissipating the palpable tension that had been building between us.
“Boss, they are waiting for us.”
“Hmm.”
That was all he replied, releasing his grip on my arms. I have to keep my balance on these darn heels so I won’t tumble down, sighing out in relief all at once. I didn't even realize I had been holding my breath for an extended period of time, and Kael’s warm body that was recently pressed on my back disappeared.
I quickly tottered towards Aya and lifted her up, “Aya, get up now. Ackh!”
However, I didn’t even get the chance to finish what I am about to say when a yelp cut me short in the process, just as someone forcedly yanked my arms and dragged me out of my room, almost on the verge of tripping over my own feet. Fortunately, I eventually found my footing.
The first thing I saw was the pair of immaculately polished leather shoes, briskly walking in long strides. I sweep my gaze upwards to the back of the culprit dragging me down to a long corridor. I glared at his imposing rear, hissing as I did my best not to trip on my heels and keep my dress from hiking up on my bottom.
Damn it! Why can’t they just slow down? I know I already made them late to whatever appointment they have for this day, but it wasn’t my great idea to tag me along with them, much less dress me up like a slut who hasn’t been sold in a decade.
And hello? My legs weren’t that long like theirs. I was literally skipping my steps just to keep up with this giant while Val had fallen behind us.
The giant double door was already opened as soon as we took the last step on the grand staircase. Like, why do we have to take the stairs when this mansion has elevators in it. Does he have to torment me this way?
“Let go of me, you mons...” I gritted, almost out of breath the moment we arrived outside.
I was heaving my chest as I yanked my hand free from his grasp, but unfortunately, Kael whips his head in my direction, his face stoic, eyes sharp, sending me a deadly stare that immediately stopped me from finishing my sentence.
Fear crept up on my spine, and I swallowed the rest of the words from spewing it out on his face and stood straight next to him. Feeling his grip on my wrist tightening, certainly leaving another mark on my skin. Val had gone ahead of us, down the sloping stairs on the expansive patio and to the line of ten shiny black cars queuing along the road that curled around the massive fountain.
“By the way, you look ravishing. I could take you right here and now if this thing is not important.” Kael suddenly said out of nowhere, almost immediately causing my heart to skip a beat in my throat as the pad of a large thumb rubbed slowly against the inside of my wrist.
I looked straight, refusing to meet his smoldering gaze and ignoring the skittering jitters along with the tiny hairs on my skin, pretending not to be disturbed by the plethora of images running on my head imagining the thing he just said and fought back the hot sensation crawling up to my face.
I cleared my throat to keep my voice from squeaking before talking back at him.
“Where are we going?” I asked, pinning my stare to Val, moving animatedly as he barked out instructions to the battalion of armed men that I guess are going to be our convoy.
Kael took a sharp breath next to me, pulling me even closer to him as he replied, “That isn’t for you to know, кукла (kukla). All you have to do is sit on my side and look pretty.”
Then once again, he drags me down towards the sleek, expensive sedan, whose door in the backseat is already open for us.
What the hell did he mean by that?
