Chapter 14 Surrender
\[Lilia\]
I was left stunned after Kael left my room. I was staring at the closed door where he had disappeared, my heart racing with fright in my chest.
I collapsed on my bed, my eyes fixed on the horrible colored ceiling above me, my mind racing through everything that has just happened in my life. A snake, venomous at that, bit me. Hence, I got to live another day. A fire of bullets rained down on us, yet I am saved. I don’t even know what will happen to my life next.
After half an hour, my room door suddenly opened. Aya emerges with a tray of food in her hand. Her gaze scanned the area, and relief washed on her face upon seeing that the two gentlemen had been already gone.
“What happened to your face?” I asked. Though I already had a sneaking suspicion that those bruises weren't insignificant.
She pressed her lips tightly. I could see the contemplation in her eyes as to whether she would tell me or not. Aya put down the food tray on the bedside table then took a seat next to mine as I propped my elbows to elevate my upper body.
“Master Kael hit me after he found out you were gone,” Aya said softly.
My eyes widened with what she said, and I immediately sat up straight, exclaiming, “He did that? That man is a monster!”
I cannot believe that he could do such a thing as hurting a woman because she failed to lock the damn door. It wasn’t her fault I chose to run away.
Too shallow at that!
“I deserved it, Lilia. You couldn’t have been in danger if it weren’t for me, just because I forgot to bring you a glass of water.” Aya reasoned out, trying to calm me down.
I gaped at her, “Aya, that’s not true! I ran away without thinking about the consequences. I’m sorry.”
An unexpected sob erupted from me as I examined the bruises covering her gorgeous face.
Her eyes softened when a smile stretched on her lips, “Let’s forget about that. The important thing is you’re fine.”
“Yeah, for now.” I nodded.
Aya then aided me with the food she prepared for me. I didn’t know I was that hungry when she put the tray in front of me and opened the covers, letting the delectable aroma waft into the room.
My stomach growls loudly, eliciting a gleeful giggle from both of us.
We talked about random things, and I shared with her my experiences back when I tried to escape. She even burst out laughing when I informed her that I had slipped past security by going into the garbage can and that she had made jokes about my midget stature.
I also shared with her how it felt like to be chased by death when we were under attack. I was paralyzed at that time and couldn’t even lift a finger to defend myself. However, I was conscious the whole time, and for a bit, I was grateful that Kael hadn’t let go of me when we were being chased by bullets.
The memory brought shudders down to my spine, and my hands couldn’t help but turn clammy at the near-death experience I went through.
“I’m sorry you have to go through that,” Aya said, jolting me out from my reverie, but I only responded to her with a subtle nod on my head, wiping the crumbs left on the corners of my lips.
The threat that Kael told me about having my life in his hands—that was my reality now. It’s either I live by his rules or die.
My face contorts with the scornful ideas, and my composure breaks. Aya recognized my distress and reached out to give me a warm hug in an attempt to comfort me.
The day went on, and I hadn’t realized that I had fallen asleep in her arms.
The sudden creaking of my door instantly roused me from slumber. I blinked all the grogginess out of my system and squinted on the darkened image, gliding towards me. Aya is nowhere to be found, and I was only left alone to my defense.
My heart thundered underneath my chest. I slowly backed up over the headboard of my bed, panting with horror.
Just then, a familiar face came into view as he halted at the foot side of my mattress.
“You really won’t leave my head, would you?” He growled, moving closer to me, and leaned down to grip my face.
I look at him with wide eyes of fear and bewilderment as I try to figure out what he was trying to tell me. “What are you talking about? Aren’t you done terrorizing me?”
“Lilia.” The way he rasped out my name was like it was a plea. He let go of my face as he curled his hand, as if my skin was burning him in the process.
The side of my mattress dipped under his weight as he began crawling, moving too close for my comfort and trapping me between his arms that were inclined on the headboard. He wasn’t contented with it. Kael lowered his head and began kissing me on the neck.
“What do you think you’re doing?” I stammered, squirming away from him but could no longer move any further. However, what I did elicited a low growl of disapproval on his chest, making me rigid with trepidation.
“Haven’t I told you, you are mine?” He grunted, one of his hands moving down and clutching the swell of my breast, making me gasp in response. Caught off guard by the waves of shiver running down to my spine. And the tension in my lower belly begins to develop at an alarming rate.
His rough thumb swipes through the thin fabric of my nightdress. The friction it causes makes my nipple erect against his touch, trapping a moan to tear through my throat.
What the hell?
“See? Your body responded so well with my touch,” he said in a low, husky voice.
I gaped at him, swallowing hard to fight myself from moaning, albeit my voice came as a sigh. “You’re crazy, please...”
“Please, what?” A devious smirk played on his lips, putting much pressure on my nipple bud, taking me by surprise, and making me buckle more against the headboard, panting with my ragged breath. “Stop.”
“This?” he mused, taking my pebble-hard nipple, tweaking it in between his fingers, playing and taunting me.
I clamped down my mouth, biting the inner side of my cheek, and breathed deep into my nose, not yielding to the sensation that had started to consume my body.
“I see you like to play it hard.” The coy in his voice was heavily sated as I felt another hand drifting from my chest down to my belly, stopping just above my sensitive spot.
I couldn’t feel my legs. Thousands of tingles shot all over me, making me lose all of my wits.
Just then, Kael began rubbing me, snapping all my constraints, producing a loud moan.
“Damn! How I wanted to hear that moan.”
I couldn’t hear much of what he was saying. The next thing I knew was that a pair of warm, slicked lips crashed on my mouth. Tongue thrusting inside and sought a battle of dominance.
