Ch 28: Killing The Nightshade Vesper

"Don't you dare," Elysia shouted and disappeared, reappearing right in front of the Nightshade Vesper like a phantom and punching hard.

"Bang!"

The Nightshade Vesper obviously didn't expect Elysia to suddenly move like this. It was taken by surprise and flew backward, colliding against several trees, and knocking them down before falling to the ground.

Elysia clearly noticed the Nightshade Vesper looking at Emrys with killing intent. It was very clear that this insectoid was planning to kill Emrys first before taking against her. After all, Emrys was somehow able to sense this creature's movement and tell beforehand.

Not to mention Emrys was helpful here, even if he was not, she would not have let anything happen to him.

The Nightshade Vesper stood up and hissed at Elysia. Then it disappeared again.

"Be careful," Elysia shouted.

Emrys felt something and ducked, avoiding a sharp wind arc that flew above his head.

Had he not ducked in time, his body would have been cut in two parts by now.

"Damn it!"

Elysia immediately dashed toward Emrys, but the Nightshade Vesper appeared and lunged forward before Elysia could cover the distance.

It struck its front leg sideways, aiming for Emrys's waistline.

Emrys instinctively flipped over and dodged the attack. His movements were entirely based on his instincts. He could neither see nor feel the attacks of Nightshade Vesper. Only his instincts roared when danger came to take his life.

By now, Elysia arrived and blocked in front of Emrys before taking out an electromagnetic rifle and firing at the insectoid.

The bullets hit the Nightshade Vesper but did no damage.

On the other hand, the Nightshade Vesper got extremely aggressive as it attacked Elysia again.

Just like that, a terrifying battle erupted between both the Seventh Star Esper and the Seventh Star Insectoid.

The Nightshade Vesper was fast and had the ability to enter the stealth more. Elysia could deal with the speed, but the insectoid's ability to hide its presence made it difficult for her to battle.

Fortunately, Emrys was there to always advise and remind Elysia about the insectoid's position.

"Boom!" "Boom!"

"Bang!"

The sound of continuous explosions echoed in the forest as the two of them fought for more than ten minutes, destroying several miles of forest.

Finally, the two of them separated.

Both of them were injured, but then again, they were ready to face each other.

Elysia dragged the alloy blade over the pebbles on the ground, causing sparks to fly all over the place.

As the Nightshade Vesper shrieked, her eyes glinted with a cold blue light.

The Nightshade Vesper saw the blue light and was startled for a moment. Taking the opportunity, Elysia lunged at the insectoid.

She leaned forward and swung the alloy blade down.

While her technique was swift and powerful, the Nightshade Vesper was no slouch.

After it was startled for a second, the Nightshade Vesper's eyes suddenly turned bloodshot, and it started to attack Elysia violently.

Sparks flew around as Elysia's blade and the Nightshade Vesper's front legs clashed non-stop.

Emrys looked on, and his jaws dropped to the ground.

This battle was truly terrifying and it opened his eyes.

Elysia fought head-to-head with the Nightshade Vesper for one last round and promptly leaped up into the air by borrowing some rebound momentum. Then, she did a flip in the air, which resulted in her head facing down and legs facing the sky.

As if the Nightshade Vesper had sensed the danger, it raised its front legs to block the sword. Little did it realize that Elysia was only feigning her current attack.

She bounced back up again by borrowing the rebound momentum and slashed the blade sideways, aiming straight for the claw-like Nightshade Vesper’s hand.

Screech~

The Nightshade Vesper shrieked in fear as it tried to dodge, but Elysia refused to give it a chance. With a twist of her wrist, she slashed the blade down into the Nightshade Vesper’s claw.

With Elysia’s strength and the sharpness of the alloy blade, the horn did not stand a chance.

The Nightshade Vesper cried out in pain as its claw was severed from its hand. As though it was a lethal injury, the Nightshade Vesper rolled on the ground while it fought the pain.

Taking advantage of the situation, Elysia aimed the blade at the wound first, and then thrust it into the Nightshade Vesper’s head without hesitation, finally ending this insectoid’s life for good.

However, even with a blade through its brain, the Nightshade Vesper did not die immediately as Emrys had expected. Instead, it rocked its body.

“This guy is tough!” Emrys muttered.

Meanwhile, Elysia clenched the hilt of the blade with her hands so that she could remain on the Nightshade Vesper’s back and swing around as the insectoid shook.

'I can’t just stay like this!'

Watching the entire battle, Emrys felt his blood boiling. He knew he could not stay like this forever, he had to become stronger.

By now, the Nightshade Vesper had already lost its ability to fight back, but the commotion during this battle was too big. Once the other insectoids sense the commotion, they will definitely come to investigate. If they still remain here by then, they knew that they would be done for. There is no way they can kill their way out with just Elysia as the main fighting force.

Elysia attacked again and finally, the Nightshade Vesper stopped struggling.

It died.

Fresh, dark green blood flowed out of the wound and down to the ground, corroding a vast piece of land.

The Nightshade Vesper’s blood was apparently more toxic than that of other insectoids.

Elysia pulled the sword out and quickly took a few steps back for fear of coming into contact with the highly corrosive insectoid blood.

She then wiped the insectoid's blood off the blade by scraping it against a tree. It was a decent blade, so the blade was not affected by the insectoid's poisonous blood. It was still as sharp and shiny as before.

"The battle has finally ended," Emrys heaved a sigh of relief and hurriedly approached Elysia, asking whether she was good or not.

Elysia replied that she was alright. There is no need to worry.

If not for her previous injuries, she could have killed this insectoid a lot easier and earlier.
