Chapter 15: Freedom & booze

Laura's POV

The dance floor glowed as red and green laser beams shot out from the rotating lights in the ceiling.

The club was packed with people dancing and jumping to the DJ's throbbing music.

The floor pulsed beneath my feet, and the heat from the bustling club washed all over me, as I sat at the bar stand, drinking my sixth glass of beer.

Williams was right.

This was fun: the music, the frenzy crowd— my eyes roved over them.

They reminded me of penguins huddled in the cold— on crack.

I drained my glass, smacked my lips in a weak attempt to numb the fiery liquid.

My eyes were drowsy and I was about to loose it but I convinced myself, that I was fine.

And that was that.

I was just a bit drunk and…tipsy.

“You look quiet drunk.” William yelled in my ear. “You shouldn't take anymore.”

I shook my head and weakly waved at the bartender to bring more drink.

He slushed the beer in to the glass.

My cheeks had turned a violent scarlet. I perked up anyway, reached a hand to seize the glass. Williams beat me to it.

What was wrong with him?

“Let go.” I hissed.

“That's enough.” He asserted, clutching the glass firmly.

I rolled my eyes at him, anger pouring in to my bloodstream alongside the beer.

Who was he to tell me what to do?

“Don't you fucking know who I am?” I barked, reaching to grab the glass back.

He stowed it away from my reach, I slipped off my stool and stood unsteadily on my feet.

How dare you!

I pulled of my jacket hastily and dumped it on the counter, then my beanie and then the dark shades. I staggered forward.

“Vixen?” He called softly, recognizing me.

“Now you know who I am.” I slurred. “Hurry and hand me that glass.”

I tried to reach him, he shifted back and then…

I stumbled forward, falling right into his arms. He snaked them round me and held me protectively. I lay across his chest, that smelt heavily of dried sweat and body spray.

I mumbled something, and tried to push him away. But his hands were firm round me, keeping me in place— flat against his chest.

“What the hell is wrong with you.” He growled.

“Didn't you say— I could have some fun here.” I mumbled.

He pushed me back, so our faces were just inches apart.

“Of course.” He replied, his voice low— barely distinguishable from the many voices screaming inthe room and the ones in my head.

“You're no fun at all.” I pouted.

“Oh, then — what would you like?” He let go of me. I leaned back on the bar stand, to steady myself.

I shook my hair back and the words flew out of my lips, like they had biding their time until now.

“Something strong. Tonight, I want to be someone else. I want to..” I narrowed my eyes, searching his face for the right word to properly convey what I wanted—Then….

it came to me, like I had always known all along.

“I want to forget everything.” I missed, a tear streaked down my chin.

He shoved the glass back in my face. I took it unhurriedly and downed it immediately.

The liquid tore through my throat, spreading the warmth I desperately needed to my insides.

His hands reached to hold me steady.

“How about you give me a dance on the dance floor tonight?”

The dance floor?

My eyelids were heavy and weak. I fought to open them and stare at his blurred features.

He didn't wait for me to consent. He pulled me, pushing through the tightly packed crowd of unseen faces— we made our way to what seemed like the centre of the dance floor with so much lights.

I leaned closer to him, wrapping my hands round his waist, his own reached for the small of my back, yanking me closer to him.

His other hand guided my hand to his shoulder. And then…we moved.

Slowly.

Swirling together, my heart drumming. It Skipped one fast beat against my chest as our eyes met and locked into each other.

Holding each other.

His ice-blue eyes seemed to have it's own warmth. Something different from anything I have ever felt, or wasn't the drinks I took taking effect?

I didn't care. I didn't want to care.

We whirled through the dance floor, knocking out other couples out— till everyone cleared a path for us.

I let my hands reach out to every part of his, like his reached to every part of mine.

It was fun.

I moved an inch into him— hitting his crotch. But he didn't mind.

And I didn't too.

I swirled around, heaved my hips— twerking sensously and gyrating to the fast beat blaring from the speakers.

He gripped me tightly. We rolled ourselves together, his hands crawling over my body.

The strap of my dress slid down my shoulder, revealing a patch of my skin.

I stiffened.

Goosebumps crawled beneath my skin even through the heat.

I felt exposed and naked…

And there was Williams still maneuvering me around the dance floor.

My head was spinning, everything was fuzzing and spiraling…Williams, the crowd, the club.

I groaned.

A shadow leaned closer, looming over me. Williams.

His lips brushed against my earlobe. He whispered something, I was too drunk to make out. I was shivering.

His mouth glided from under my ears to the hollow of my throat.

I felt his hot breath pour on my face.

Suddenly, I lurched forward. Maybe it was the beer or maybe it was just me. My lips crashed into his, before I could stop myself.

His lips sucked into mine hungrily, like he has been waiting for this moment. He ravaged mine eating it hungrily with passion, devouring all the empty crevices in my mouth…

I moaned into his. Forgetting the noise, and the crowd and just stayed there.

Frozen in time.

Suddenly something grabbed me firmly by the hand, and yanked me from Williams’ hand. Tearing out lips apart.

I slammed into something solid and dark.

The fuzziness increased, my stomache growled— the puke crawled out right through my throat and the next second my bowels were sprawled all over the place.

Over the surface.

I growled again, sending out more puke flying about. My face was pale and scarlet.

My eyelids were drooping— like a wet towel was covering it up.

The light in the club was slipping away.

Seeping away.

I arched slowly, falling weakly into the arms of whatever held me and fell into nothingness.

Blackout.
