Chapter 59: 59. Solution

For three days all we did was bury the dead and rebuilt the city. It was like the snow targeted only people I love because most of them died. I walked into my room and threw myself on the bed, my body shaking with sobs. I was crying, it was the final day of the funerals, my heart was bleeding and all I needed was Arc, but he wasn't even out yet. Even if he was, I had to confess to him about what I did with the water personification, and he would be very mad, we weren't on talking terms when we parted and this was another. I was crying more because of that, I didn't want to lose him too.

"Juno?" Eva called softly, "I know it is a stupid question but are you alright? That is the only thing I can think of."

"Eva, I'm scared, I'm terrified,"

"Why?" She asked as she joined me on the bed in her body form.

"I let the water idiot kiss me, undress me and…"

"Did you sleep with him?"

"No!" I shouted, jumping up to sit. "I swear, I didn't sleep with him. I admit I let him kiss me, remove my top and bra, and he was just kissing down my cleavage when I found a way to stop him. I swear I didn't do it deliberately, I didn't mean to cheat on him, but I was compelled to, but Arc isn't going to ever forgive me."

"Do you want to know why my king was irritated when you were leaving?"

"Because he blames me for distracting him from his job," I puffed, falling back on the bed.

"Does it make any sense to you? Why do you think my king, who would sneak away from meetings just to be with you, blame you?" I shrugged, looking at the ceiling through my blurry eyes. "He wasn't annoyed because of that, he only used it as a front."

"Front?" I turned my head to look at her. She giggled.

"He was angry because he knew he had to let you go to him alone, no lady who goes to that pervert ever comes out without getting laid. Seamus is a cruel pervert, he sleeps with whomever he wants, even Victoria slept with him more than five times. My king was angry because he knew that letting you go to him was willingly giving you up to him. The moment he sleeps with you, he would have the power to summon you for his pleasure anytime he pleases, until he is done with you, d knowing that he hates Arc, he would do it a lot to vex him."

"So I am the first not to sleep with him? To reject him?" I asked with a glimmer of hope.

"And that is why my king would be happy, he wouldn't be mad one bit." She said gigglingly. I cupped my mouth and laughed, I was worrying for no reason.

"Thank you, Eva, you just solved everything!"

"Good, because I need you to help me cook dinner for Hunter, the kid needs well-prepared food," she rolled her eyes, cooking isn't her speciality.

I jumped to my feet, feeling energised by the new development. I went to his room and knocked gently. "Hunter? It's me, Juno, can I come in?"

"The door is open," his weak and small voice said from the other side of the door. I opened the door and stuck my head in first. Hunter sat on the bed, staring at a picture. It wasn't easy explaining everything to the kid, but he easily understood. It didn't stop the pain, though, especially since he was the only one left.

Arc already fixed the news, the public believed his family were gruesomely murdered by a serial killer, one of his houses destroyed in the process. Arc went there as his uncle to take guardian over him until the imaginary killer is found. The court already gave the order that his company be run by a trusted man who happens to be a werecoyote. Once he is big enough, he would take over. Hunter was scarred for life, I had no idea how to take away the pain except to take his memories. But he needed to know, since he was living with the unbelievable.

"Little man," I entered the room and shut the door softly. I walked over to the bed and sat down, "what do you have there?" I smiled. He turned the frame to me. It was a picture he took with Judith and Emerald, they looked so happy in the picture. "Yeah, I know, I miss them too."

"Are you going to destroy Esme now? She needs to pay for all she has done and is still doing." His eyes glinted with so much anger.

"I will once your uncle wakes up, I also want to track her down to know where she is or find a way to draw her out," he nodded and returned his gaze to the picture. "Hunter, I know you are sad and angry because of what happened, but you don't have to let it ruin your life, you have to hold on tight to reality and remember the happiness that you once had…"

"Had, Auntie Juno, not have. They were all part of my family, but now they are gone, do you know how that feels?" He cried.

"Let's see," I stroke my chin thoughtfully, "I lost my mother, lost my best friend/mother, Victoria, lost my two other friends who used to be in a girl group with me, abandoned my career, my life, future, and family to come live here with my mate; my family thinks I'm dead. Need I remind you that Emy was my only friend left? But now she is gone, and so is Chlorie and everyone else in your family. My precious little daughter died saving you, Caleb is gone, Kisa is as good as gone and I returned to find many dead. So tell me, Hunter, how do I not know how it feels?"

"And you still smile? How do you do it?" He sobbed.

"I remember the people I've lost, why I lost them and what they would want me to spend my life doing," I looked at the ceiling with blurry eyes, "I remember that they gave their lives to save me or something related to that, and I remember their smiles and laughter. I know they wouldn't like it if I am sad, they would want me to live the best of life. For example, Judith died to give you a chance to be happy, to live. Tell me, aren't you making a waste out of it by being like this?"

"I would prefer to be dead than be alive and suffer this pain," I pulled the boy onto my laps and held him close, "but what is done has already been done, and there is nothing you can do about it, trust me when I say I am speaking from experience. If I could control what happens, I would choose to die in their place, but I live for my purpose, I live for the new people I meet and the ones that loves me. So don't look at the family you lost, look towards the one you will gain, even if they aren't exactly who you want them to be."

I soothed him for minutes before he smiled for the first time. I took him to the kitchen and prepared dinner as Eva and I tried to cheer him up, telling him one story to the other. Then after that, I put him to bed. I cracked my knuckles as I walked back into my bedroom, I froze when I felt a powerful aura in the room.

"Who's in here?"

"Who else?" cold, thick, like a double-edged silver blade. My blood went cold, my heart began hammering in my chest as I slowly turned around. Standing there with a sneer was the stupid thing I ran away from. "Did you really think you could escape me?" He taunted as he stalked closer to me. I walked backwards, looking everywhere but his eyes.

"Juno, you belong to me now, and it's a shame your lovely husband isn't here to help…" The whispering voices blared into my ears, each shouting what I needed to know, as I kept walking back. I screamed when I hit the bed all of a sudden, Seamus pinned me down on it.

"Get away from me, you pervert! I am a married woman and I will not cheat on my husband!"

He scoffed, "Arc is damn lucky. You are the only person I can manipulate to get to him, but you are stronger than my compulsion, isn't that amazing?" He asked sarcastically.

"I love my husband and will never cheat on him, now get away from me, you freak!"

"You either give in by will or by force!" He shouted, I tried to fight him as he struggled to keep me pinned down.

Listen to us, Juno!

I inhaled and gave up fighting, deciding to listen. What do they have for me?
