My screams rang out and echoed throughout the wilds when I felt like I had drowned in my run. I thought I was going to stumble down but then suddenly I felt myself floating in the air. Simultaneously, with my floating in the air was the fall of the tree beside me. The big bear just ran into the big tree that almost hit me.
What the heck?
"Oh gosh!" I cried out in pain as I fell to the ground. I turned to the prince who's now looking down at me. I trembled, I tried so hard to prevent my eyes from welling. I felt like I just failed, I felt like I did a very crucial mistake at such early game, and had not because of the Prince, I would have been injured so bad. The Prince saved me once again.
Oh ghad! I really need to get myself together. But what can I do? I am fully awake, it's just that, I cannot catch up with their pace this instant. They trained their whole lives for this while I was just brought to be a bait, and here I am now, facing the consequences of being stupid. I know I can catch up, but I'll need some moment. What's happening is too fast for me, I cannot just put everything in my mind and act perfectly.
My heart clenched. What the hell am I thinking now? I should get myself together. This is painful, but if I zone out, I'll be more of a pain in the ass. So I immediately shook my head to awaken myself. This is not the time to be stupid and do idiotic decisions.
"Watch out naive girl!" The Prince yelled, glaring daggers at me, "Run!" He added.
My eyes widened. He's telling me to run, tho I wanted to help them, I know obeying him will be better. First of all, I don't know what I could do to help, I'll probably just slow them down if I join them. So the best choice is probably to follow the Prince, in spite of that, I don't want him to get mad just because a mere rookie did not follow his order. So I stood up again and then ran as fast as I could towards the cave only I can vision clearly. I endured the pain I felt after my fall. My pace became faster, I could hear my breathing as well. My heart seemed to be racing.
'This is insane! If ever I survive here, I'd have probably lost my mind during that time.'
I turned my back to see what they were doing. All I could hear is explosion and their non-stop yells. They were busy fighting the lions while all I did was run. My chest clenched. Oh gosh... I cannot take this. I can't stand seeing them fight the beasts when there is something I can do as well to help them. I know I what I could do will not save them fully, but atleast, it'll assist them and slow down the chasing opponents.
I can't stand this.
I stopped running.
Everything has purpose. I had the Prince's bow because I could aim and hit the target properly. I have a good sight and I could use it to my advantage. So I pulled out my bow and arrow and aimed it at Nathalia's lion opponent. The gun was no longer in her hand, she's now just holding the katana.
"Stupid! Run!" The prince shouted at me but I ignored him. I am fully aware that the Prince would get mad, no, he is probably angry now because I didn’t obey him but I know they need my help too.
I turned my attention to the lion that's now ready to grab Nathalia.
"Stupid!" The Prince yelled.
When the Prince shouted, the lion jumped towards Nathalia. Everyone’s action was slow, but it didn’t affect my aiming and timing. I let go of my arrow,
"Argh! Sh*t, sh*t, sh*t, no!" Nathalia screamed when she didn't hit the lion with her katana.
My arrow moved slowly before my eyes despite it's raging speed in the air. And in a blink of an eye, the gameplay in the wilds changed.
"I got your back too." I whispered.
Nathalia stopped screaming, she quickly looked at me as her eyes widened in disbelief. I just hit the lion perfectly. And with the help of the Prince, he threw it away from Nathalia using his mind, he moved the lion's dead body away from the mender sorcerer, he'd thrown the lion away to make sure that it wouldn't run after Nathalia anymore.
"You are so stubborn!" Said Prince Zavan as he walked quickly towards me.
My eyes widened, I eventually trembled due to the authority and pressure the Prince holds. Oh sh*t, what is he going to do? My eyes rolled as the Prince did not stop walking aggressively towards me. I was so nervous about his approach that I quickly ran away from them towards the cave I could see. Is he scaring me? I look like a kid running away from something scary. I heard the prince said 'tss' as I ran away from him. I just shook my head and kept running. And finally, I could already see the entrance of the cave.
"Oh my!" I stopped running, my heart almost failed after I looked down.
In front of me was a very high cliff and at the bottom of it was a river. Gradually, the sharp heat of the sun hit my face. The sun is shining brightly, the morning roused and it also means that we have to move faster. A cliff is in front of me. If I were in the first district, I would have jumped without any hesitation. But I doubted myself first after observing how high the cliff is.
But yeah, as the brave and courageous person I am, I eventually jumped.
"What the heck?" I heard Chrysler shout, "What the heck is the problem with that girl? Is she crazy? She just... jumped off the clif!"
"Argh!" I grunted.
I fell hard. My back was the first to fall because I almost spun round and round in the air while falling down. It was a very wrong move, fortunately I was not injured. My fall was bad, indication that I jumped wrong. But I stood up and cleaned myself as if nothing happened, as if I did not just do something stupid.
"I'm fine!" I shouted and looked up. They were already there, their faces full shocked expressions after seeing me fall and immediately stood up.
'I used to get hurt. Don't worry.'
I turned away from them and focused on the obstacles before me. I felt them moved immediately to follow me. I jumped on the rocks to get down. The water was so clear, if we just didn’t have a mission I would have taken a bath here. I slowly stepped on the rocks in the water because I knew they would slip.
"Are you sure this is the way to the cave? We've come too far. The distance is..." Corinthians said behind me startling me fine and hard. 'Shocks!' Good Lord, they're so fast, they followed me right away.
"Corinthians, I'll carry you to make it easier for us." That was Greyson's voice.
The river is wide and the men can walk faster, they will definitely not get too wet because they are all tall. And who knows if they have any other power to make it easier for us to cross this river.
"No need, I can cross this river without flying with you!" Said Corinthians.
"Don't be stupid babe." Said Greyson and held Corinthians in his arms.
"Let go of me! You freaking jerk!" The complaint of Corinthians boomed throughout the river. Not later on, I got startled and almost slipped as a fast wind passed by me. It was Greyson running above the big stones while carrying the angry blonde girl. Greyson picked up Corinthians, and in an instant, they were both crossing the river fast.
Greyson put the lady down and Corinthians immediately spat angrily, "Look, the waters you stepped on spewed on me!"
The man frowned, "Can't you just be thankful? Your have a lot to say, just be thankful we crossed right away, look at how far they are babe!"
Just then, they started fighting like dog and cat. Meanwhile, we continued to walk against the fast and hard flowing water.
"Hey Chrysler, carry me. Let's jump." Nathalia said, frowning and looking at Chrysler.
At first Chrysler turned to me, but he could do nothing but lift Nathalia per order. And I was almost stunned when he ran and jumped over the rocks to Greyson's place in an instant.
'Oh goodness!'
That was fast! I rubbed my forehead. Am I thinking straight right now? Are these all happening in reality? Am I going crazy? I hope not. Now that's everything's getting lucid, my heart throbbed. Fudge, of course, I just realized something! The Echelons are all on the other side which means only the Prince and I were left. I turned to the prince who was now frowning at me again as if I did something worse.
"W-what?" I innocently asked.
"Idiot, come here," he commands. I shook my head in response.
No way! What is he going to do? Is he gonna carry me as well? No way! I'd rather drown here that cooperate with the Prince right now. I can't... I just can't! It's so awkward, and I think I don't deserve this intimacy.
"One..."
I swallowed hard as the Prince started to count. I still shook my head in response, I wanted to say that I could walk even if they were ahead but I couldn't speak.
"Two..."
My eyes widened as he finally approached me. Sh*t, sh*t, sh*t! Will the prince carry me as well? No way, no way! This is so fucking unbelievable, I'm embarrassed! My breathing was fast as I stared at the rocks and the strong water flowing through it.
"I can walk."
"Three." My breathing stopped and my heartbeat quickened. Because when he whispered that he was already beside me and he was already holding my hand.
I turned to the prince in shock. How come this one is next to me already? His gorgeous golden eyes looks mad. Maybe because I did not follow him again.
"One more time you disobey my order, you won't like what I'd do to you." After saying that he suddenly lifted me up.
I want to scream, but I can't. I became mute for instant. He ran over the big rocks with the waters flowing in it. Some water splashed on me but I ignored it, my gaze went to the perfectly shaped face of the handsome prince. Even though the situation is embarrassing and frustrating, he's still handsome. Adding to my frustration was his wet hair and the grain of sweats and water dripping down his forehead and cheeks.
Damn, he's gorgeous. He is probably the most beautiful man I have ever seen in my whole life. I gasped when I realized I was staring hard. My heart beat quickened.
