Chapter 15 Dream

Chapter 15 Dream
Alec POV

“What was that?” Kyson asks as I step into the trees.

I feel such a strong urge to follow her back to the camp, but I know she’ll be on edge, considering she saw us at the pond last night. The thought of the pond makes my blood boil.

“Hello earth to Alec?” Kyson waves his hand in front of my face.

“Is she the killer or not?”

He’s so impatient. “No, she’s my mate.”

He stops his movements, his mouth opening dramatically. “Your mate!?” He all but yells.

I shake my head, but I can’t stop the smile coming onto my face.

“Woohoo, my guy, it’s your time to settle down, you’re gonna be so whipped now.”

I start walking to my home, and he follows, still going off. “Does she know about us? What’s she like? Does she smell good now? Why did she smell bad?”

“Kyson,” My tone is final, making him shut up.

“Do you know anything?” His question is quiet as he continues walking beside me.

I’m going straight to my home since we have a large property, and with some convincing, I was able to take one of the homes. It’s a small shack of a home, but it’s become the alpha in lines hang out along with the other in-line wolves. Including Kyson.

“I don’t know everything. I know she doesn’t know about us, and she smells good, but I don’t know why she stunk like that on that day.”
“Jackson is going to lose his mind when he hears this.”

I clench my fist at his loud voice again. “The whole pack probably heard you by now.”

“I can’t believe the Alec who swore off dating has fallen in love.” He says in a sing-song voice.

I push him away, tired of his nagging. But he’s right, I’m in love, which is obvious because without Anneliese on my mind I would’ve already phased and beat his ass.

“Are you going to tell everyone right away?” He asks as the brown wooden shack comes into view.

“Probably. She didn’t reject the feelings right away, so I have hope she’ll accept me quickly.”

He doesn’t wait to hear another word, running ahead of me into the house. I can hear them talking loudly and over each other, wanting to know everything. They’re all eager to find out more about Garrett’s death as well. I come into the house, enjoying the homey feel it gives. Jackson and Noah are sitting on the couch while Kyson stands in front of them, practically buzzing with the secret.

“What happened? He can’t keep it in.” Jackson asks, looking ready for a war.

“It’s not the news you’re all expecting. I found my soulmate.”

They look shocked but happy for me.

“What? Who? Who is she?” Jackson asks.

“Her name is Anneliese. She is the girl I thought was involved with Garrett’s death, but she doesn’t know anything about us or even about being my soulmate.”

“Wow. So did she still stink?”

“No, she didn’t even smell remotely like it. I don’t know where the smell came from, but she smells good.”

Noah butts in, “Of course she smells good to you, she’s your mate.”

I wave him off. “The biggest issue right now to solve is how I'm going to get close to her. And when do I tell her the truth?”

This makes them all go quiet. I land on the couch next to Noah.

“It’s been a while since we had an outsider. Almost every time the person finds out when an accident happens, though, so get ahead of it.” Noah gives his advice.

“Just take her on a great date and then show off how cool you are as a werewolf.” Jackson says like it’s a joke.

“Not funny. How am I even going to see her when she’s stuck at that camp?”

“Cassie has been able to go in and out, so should you. Get her number, and it’ll be easier to meet.”

“They take their phones.”

Kyson lets out a huff, “Steal her phone back.”

“Or get her a new one, it can be a throwaway just for you two.” Noah says, giving Kyson a look at his extreme offer.

I’m going to buy her a phone, and then I’ll go back and get her to go for a walk or something ensure she feels even remotely close to what I feel.

“She’s the one we were watching at the pond last night, right?”

The pond. Memories of her with that guy fill my head, making my breath pick up. They better not be dating.

“Yeah, but let’s not talk about that right now.” Kyson tries to change the subject, but it’s too late.

I stand from the couch, going out the front door of the house just in time to phase into a large brown wolf. I can hear the thoughts of other pack members at the main house, also in wolf form, but I block them out. Anneliese.

This will be hard not to phase at every moment of anger.

Anna Pov

“Come here, Anneliese!” My father shouts at me angrily. He only uses my full name when it’s bad.

I look around me. We’re in the middle of the woods, and my parents stand in front of me with a gun in hand pointed at me. No, they’re pointed behind me.

I turn around to see where Alec stands next to the large brown wolf.

“It’s okay, come here.” He holds out his bloodied hand towards me.

I take a step away from him, making the wolf growl.

My parents start yelling louder and louder behind me.

“I don’t know what to do,” I mutter to myself.

Before I know it, my mother’s hand wraps around my arm, pulling me back towards them, but something feels wrong.

I open my mouth to yell for Alec, reaching my hand out to him, but it’s silent. I can’t move out of her grip.

“Wake up.” I hear Morgan say.

“Anna, it’s time for breakfast, wake up.” She says again, waking me from the dream. I look around the cabin. It was just a dream.

A very weird, random dream.
