Chapter 63 Honny bunny

Chapter 63 Honny bunny
Lucas stiffened. “That’s not true.”
“Really?” Alex’s gaze held his, unblinking. “Because from where I stood, you agreed the moment she asked but my question is why?”
Lucas opened his mouth, then stopped. His eyes flicked away. “I have my reasons why.”
Alex’s control cracked…just enough. “Why, Lucas? Why do you say yes to her?”
The words came out sharper than he intended.
Lucas’s shoulders tensed. “Why does it matter to you?”
The question landed hard as well. Alex’s lips parted, then pressed together again. His hands clenched slowly at his sides. For a moment, it looked like he might step back. But instead, he stepped in too close and Lucas stepped back. The more Lucas stepped back, the more he moved forward. Until Lucas’s back hit the wall. Alex locked him in with his gaze steady on him
“Maybe it shouldn’t, and yet here I am with my heart aching in every minute that passes by because my Lucas refused to smile with or for me,” Alex said quietly.
Lucas stared at him, pulse racing.
“Alex…” Lucas muttered but nothing else followed.
“You keep pulling away,” Alex went on, voice low and controlled, but strained now. “One minute you’re right there, the next you’re gone. Do you know how painful that feels? You wouldn't let me talk to you or stand beside you. Yet someone else who shared nothing with you gets to stand beside you like I mean nothing.”
“That’s not fair,” Lucas shot back, heat flashing in his eyes. “You don’t get to judge me that way.”
“Why not, my Lucas?”
“I can't be with you, I can't be with anyone.” He said and tried to move but Alex blocked him by placing his hands on both sides of the wall.
Silence slammed down between them.
Alex looked at him like he was about to cry. “I tried talking to you several times but you kept giving me the cold shoulder, it hurts badly. Please stop doing that hmm. Do you want me to go crazy?” The words dropped softer, almost in a whisper.
“I'm sorry but I can't do this. It can't…”
Alex swallowed. His voice dropped to a near whisper. “So this is it? You’re moving on already?”
Lucas’s chest rose and fell. “I’m surviving,” he said.
But I'm not yet, my Lucas, let us survive together, hmm.”
Lucas’s eyes glistened but he pulled them away quickly. His heart thudded.
They stood there, inches apart, the air tight with everything neither of them was ready to say.
Then gradually, Alex lifted his finger to Lucas’s chin and tilted his face up. Without warning he confessed, “My Lucas, I love you.”
Lucas’s eyes widened in surprise. He didn't expect that…didn't know what response to give him. His thoughts scattered and he started, “No, you can't …”
“Can't love you? Says who? No one has the right to stop me. Not even you, my love.”
Lucas stood frozen, dumbfounded, his eyes roaming Alex’s face as if searching for solid ground. He swallowed…once, twice…throat working around saliva that wasn’t there. His breath came shallow and uneven.
“My love, I can’t survive without you. Please, give us a chance.”
Alex’s voice was low, breaking at the edges as his fingers brushed along Lucas’s neck. “Do you know you’re so special. No Adam’s apple,” he murmured, almost in awe. “You’re beautiful in a way I don’t even have words for.”
His hand returned, gentler this time. Lucas whimpered despite himself, the sound betraying him.
“My love,” Alex pleaded again, thumb stroking Lucas’s cheek before drifting to his lips.
Alex leaned in slowly, deliberately. Lucas’s lashes fluttered, then fell closed.
Their lips brushed…barely a kiss, a whisper of contact, as Alex breathed against his mouth, “Please say yes, my love.”
But Lucas was already gone, swept away by the rush of it all. His knees weakened, his thoughts scattered. He couldn’t answer. Couldn’t even steady himself but Alex didn’t wait. He leaned in again and captured Lucas’s lips, the kiss deep and urgent, all restrained longing finally breaking free.
When he pulled back, his breath was uneven, his eyes locked on Lucas the moment Lucas’s fluttered open.
“My love,” he whispered. “Kiss me back. Please.”
Lucas hesitated…right on the edge…Then a sudden noise echoed from somewhere nearby, shattering the spell.
Lucas turned away at once, chest rising sharply as reality crashed back in.
“I’m sorry,” he muttered, barely above a whisper. “I need to go.”
He reached up, gently but firmly pulling Alex’s arm down, stepping out of the small, fragile cage Alex had built around them. Without another word, he walked past him, leaving Alex standing there, hands empty, heart pounding in the silence he left behind.
Alex stayed rooted to the spot, his heartbeat thundering so loud it felt like it echoed in his ears. Weakness washed over him, but threaded through it was something dangerous. Hope…small, stubborn, and bright. He was sure of it now. Lucas felt something for him. There was no mistaking that.
His pulse kicked harder when he saw Lucas break away and hurry down toward the locker room.
Alex couldn’t let it end there.
He turned, strode for the elevator, and burst into his office like a man possessed. In seconds, he was at his desk, fingers flying, tapping into the security feed. The screen flickered, and then the locker room came into view.
There Lucas stood, frozen before the mirror, staring at his own reflection as though it might answer him. He shook his head sharply, then pressed a hand to his chest, breathing unevenly.
Alex leaned closer to the screen.
What is it? Happiness… or regret?
Lucas’s gaze dropped. Alex followed it instinctively, and then he saw it… an erection.
A slow, delighted whistle slipped from his lips.
“My honny bunny,” he murmured under his breath, a grin breaking through. “Did I really set you on fire right now?”
On the screen, Lucas fumbled, hurriedly untying his apron, tugging his pants open just enough to look down at himself. He stared hard, wide-eyed, like someone confronting a stranger—like this reaction had blindsided him completely.
Alex’s smile softened, curiosity replacing triumph. Why does he look so shocked?
He frowned slightly. I know he is still a virgin… but is his erection all new to him?
A flicker of concern crept in, uninvited. “Oh, Lucas,” Alex murmured, voice low and thoughtful now. “Is that the secret you couldn’t say out loud?”
The screen glowed quietly as Lucas stood there, conflicted, undone, while Alex watched, knowing one thing for certain.
Whatever the problem with him, he would be all there with him.
Lucas walked around until his body normalized. He checked himself again and tapped on his cocky as if he was saying, “Well done, good boy.”
Alex, chortled happily at his reaction.
Then Lucas watched his face, checked his time, then walked over to a long chair and lay down. He still had about twenty minutes. He decided to close his eyes. The instant he drifted off to sleep, Zenith stepped into the locker room. His eyes went straight to the person sleeping on the bench. “Oh, it's my sweet bunny.”
