Chapter 218
Victoria opened her mouth.
She really wanted to tell Chase without any hesitation that she would forgive him, that he didn't need to worry about it.
But she just couldn't say those words.
She had some emotional boundaries in relationships. She couldn't accept that while still in a relationship, this man had been intimate with someone else.
Before, what happened between him and Eleanor was an accident, but that accident had lasted way too long.
Since he got that woman pregnant...
Victoria pressed her hand against her chest, her voice low. "I don't know, Chase. I don't know if I can forgive you, but I know this isn't your fault."
Chase's emotions went up and down like a roller coaster.
When he finally heard Victoria's conclusion, he dropped to his knees, a bitter smile on his face.
"So you won't forgive me, Victoria. You think I'm disgusting, don't you?"
Victoria immediately covered his mouth. "Don't talk nonsense. I never thought you were disgusting. This wasn't something you could control. Nobody wanted this to happen. I just need time to accept it."
Chase's eyes lit up with hope. "You won't break up with me, right? You don't hate me, and you don't think I'm disgusting?"
Victoria smiled and nodded.
She said seriously, "Since we're in a relationship, we should face some things together, not have you bear all the pressure alone. I never thought you were disgusting, Chase. You're a really good person. You..."
Before Victoria could finish, Chase suddenly stood up and pressed a kiss onto her lips, his hand cupping the back of her head so Victoria couldn't escape.
He almost greedily breathed in Victoria's scent, constantly exploring with his tongue.
Chase took off his jacket, his hand sliding down from her neck and settling on her waist.
The kiss lasted nearly 5 minutes before Chase reluctantly let go.
He picked up Victoria, his eyes full of desire.
He loved Victoria. He wanted to have a child with Victoria that belonged to them.
Victoria was too good. He didn't want anyone to take her away.
Victoria's face was flushed as she let out a small gasp, her hands gripping his neck tightly. "Chase, what are you doing?"
Chase smiled, his voice low and husky with desire. "Can I? Victoria, I want to make love to you. I want you. Can I?"
Victoria's face turned completely red.
She buried her head in Chase's chest.
How could Chase say such things so seriously?
Her voice was muffled. "We still have things to do tomorrow."
"Then we'll just do it fewer times. Victoria, I want you. Will you let me?"
Chase carried her steadily with each step, taking her upstairs.
Victoria's body sank into the soft bed. She looked at him with watery eyes, her red lips slightly parted. "Chase, I..."
"Let me take care of you, okay?" Chase's fingertips trembled slightly as he slowly and solemnly traced Victoria's collarbone, wanting to explore further.
His Adam's apple kept moving, full of sensuality and desire.
Victoria reached up to cover her eyes. Her body was screaming with desire, but her heart was resisting.
Aiden's image appeared in her mind.
A burning and devoted kiss landed on the corner of her lips as his hand slowly and gently unhooked her bra.
Victoria suddenly reached out to stop his movement.
She still couldn't do it.
Chase immediately stopped what he was doing, his eyes confused. "What's wrong? Are you uncomfortable somewhere?"
Victoria shook her head stiffly, not daring to look into his eyes.
"No, it's not that... Chase, I... I'm a bit tired. Can we do this tomorrow?"
The desire in Chase's eyes quickly faded, leaving only bitterness that could almost drown someone.
He forced a smile and pulled the blanket over Victoria.
He got off the bed in a panic and turned away. "I'll take a shower. You rest first."
With that, he stumbled into the bathroom.
Victoria looked frustrated too. She was Chase's girlfriend now, and doing these things was completely normal!
Why did she stop at the last moment, and why did she feel like she was betraying Aiden?
Victoria covered her face and sat up, feeling disgusted with herself.
She had clearly decided to start fresh, so why was she so resistant?
She grabbed her hair tightly and rubbed it before lying back down on the bed.
No, she was Chase's girlfriend now. She shouldn't resist these things.
Fortunately, Chris's phone call came through, breaking the awkward atmosphere.
She quickly answered like she was grabbing a lifeline.
Before she could speak, Chris's slightly apologetic voice came through.
"Victoria, I'm sorry to bother you so late, but there's a tricky situation here that needs you to come over."
Victoria's expression became more serious. "What happened?"
"It's Aiden. His mental illness is acting up. He's refusing treatment and hurting people in the room. We can't get close to him. Whenever we try to get near, Aiden starts self-harming. He has glass shards in his hand right now. Can you come over?"
Chris felt a bit embarrassed to trouble Victoria.
But right now, the fastest and most effective solution was to have Victoria come and calm this man down.
He felt helpless too. He had wanted to stop caring about whether Aiden lived or died.
But he was a doctor. He couldn't just watch Aiden die right in front of him, so he had to ask for help.
Victoria hesitated for a moment, listening to the sound of water in the bathroom, then firmly shook her head. "I'm not going. It's so late, I need to sleep."
Just as she refused, she heard the sound of glass shattering from Chris's phone, along with people pleading.
She vaguely heard words like "jump off the building," "knife," and "suicidal."
Victoria's heart immediately tensed up, but she quickly shook her head, pushing those thoughts away.
What could really happen to Aiden in the hospital anyway?
She was Chase's girlfriend now. She shouldn't get involved with Aiden again.
Victoria hung up the phone and lay on the bed. Her clothes were already half off, and she had made up her mind.
When Chase came out, she would continue what they hadn't finished earlier.
But after only 2 minutes, Chase came out.
His expression was serious but also cautious as he came to Victoria's side.
Victoria pulled back the blanket, exposing much of her skin.
She proactively hooked her arms around Chase's neck. "I said I wasn't ready earlier, but now I'm ready. Chase, let's continue."
Chase's eyes were filled with tenderness. He gently ruffled Victoria's hair. "I don't want to force you, Victoria. I heard what Chris said just now. Do you want to go?"
Victoria hesitated for a second, then shook her head. "He and I have nothing to do with each other anymore."
Chase sat by the bed, his hand on her chest. "But your heart is telling me you really want to go save him."
