Chapter 73
"You didn't ask," Pearl shrugged, still in the same stance, staring down at him and secretly wondering if he isn't aware of the fact that he was supposed to hug or at least shake her hands.
Her eyes trailed off to the unfamiliar lady beside Ryan and she squinted her eyes at her. Why does it seem like the lady is glaring at Ryan? Who the heck is she though?
Woah... Woah... Pearl just announced or rather proclaimed Ryan as hers. , "Moreover, it won't be a surprise if I had told you about it," She continued, her eyes trailing back to Ryan.
Just as Pearl was secretly observing her, Emily was doing the same. She couldn't shake off the bad feeling that arose in her whenever the lady Ryan has just called Pearl stared at him.
"Thank goodness, it's you. Now I know that annoying Wilson doesn't stand a chance against me. Let's get the meeting started," Ryan motioned to her to have a seat and she felt embarrassed.
She wouldn't have stood up from her seat in the first place if she knew that he wouldn't even bother to acknowledge her presence with a greeting.
She nodded anyway and went back to her seat. Eva didn't even notice her as she was too busy glaring at Emily, who according to her is her biggest rival!
The meeting began with an introduction. Everyone stood up to introduce themselves to Pearl. Well, not literally everyone. Emily didn't count herself among the people conducting the meeting so she resolved to not interfere in their affairs at all.
Thus, she chose not to introduce herself. This was the beginning of the problem. Pearl looked at her, feeling irked. Everyone except the unknown lady beside Ryan stood up to introduce themselves.
So why the heck is this unfamiliar bimbo ignoring her presence? What the heck is she even doing, pressing the phone while a meeting is ongoing?
Pearl didn't really think Ryan's standards had dropped so low that even a mere employee could now ignore the presence of higher officials at a meeting.
Eva saw how displeased Pearl felt... Regarding Emily. Being the bitch she is, she couldn't miss this opportunity to start a beef, "Hey! I can see that you still lack proper office ethics."
Ryan looked at Eva wondering who she was talking to and when he trailed the direction she was looking at to his Emily, the rage he felt was almost par the one he was feeling earlier.
Has he been too lenient with the bitch? How dare she insult his mate!? Emily on the other hand neither heard Eva's words nor was too focused on the youtube channel she was watching to notice how the change.
Chris smiled and held his phone. Should he record this and send it to others? Nah... Ryan would probably murder him when he finds out.
"Hahaha!," Emily burst into laughter, still unaware of how silent the room was. "Boss... Ryan, see this... This guy is so cute. Look at his eyes," Her voice however was quiet as she shook Ryan.
No one could hear her words... Well except Ryan, Pearl, Chris and Scott... You know... Because of their high hearing abilities.
Ryan's eyes shook with an emotion he'd never understand. He turned to Emily and snatched the phone from her hand. "No phones are allowed in the conference room," His words sounded harsh but his voice was soft.
Of course, it was only those three I mentioned above that were able to decipher the difference in his words and voice. Pearl's eyes narrowed at them. Ryan... Just now, he was actually snatching away the phone because of something else.
Emily pouted angrily. Jerk! Why did he snatch away the phone when her idols are going to perform next? Just before Ryan switched off her phone, he saw a display of seven men with different hair colours.
They looked like Asians. A scowl appeared on his face and he switched off the phone angrily. What cute!? Yeah... They are handsome but not as handsome as him. Heck! They even looked like females.
Why would she call people like that cute!? "Pearl," Scott called out when he saw that the main agenda of the meeting had been shifted to this shameless couple displaying their PDA (public display of affection.)
Pearl snapped out of her trance and brought out a file. She passed it to Ryan. Their fingertips brushed against each other. Butchers lingered on his.
A certain someone noticed this cause Ryan winced at that very moment. "Ouch! That hurts you know," He turned to whisper to Emily. "Why the heck are you even driving your sharp nails into my innocent palm?"
Emily glared at him. He still has the guts to ask her. See the way his hands were touching that lady's hands while she was still beside him and he didn't even flinch or try to pull away!
Ha! Emily, didn't you notice it's the other way around instead? "Ryan," Pearl's voice finally sounded annoyed. "Who is she?"
"What?," It's Emily that asked this time. She could see that Pearl's question was directed at Ryan and she couldn't resist the annoyance she felt at that harmless question.
The conference room was completely silent. Everyone except those four had the same question on their minds, "Emily actually dared to question a client."
"Since you have entered this conference room, she's been distracting you and she hasn't even made any single contribution since she walked in here so who is she?" Pearl's statement intensified Emily's anger but she remained emotionless.
"Let's just carry on with the meeting. Scott and Chris will be the ones to handle it," Ryan overlooked her slightly annoying words, trying to change the subject and lighten the atmosphere.
Pearl wanted to protest but then decided against it. She sat back, gave Emily another hard, hateful glare and focused on the meeting. Within an hour, the meeting was over.
By then, Emily's head had already hit the table. She was practically drooling which made Ryan chuckle inwardly.
