Chapter 54 Camilla’s Pov.
Going on a trip just like that?
His words left me dumbfounded right there on my front porch but I parked anyways and true to his word, he was there to pick me up in an hour.
He didn't tell me where we were going and I was too angry from the way he treated me the last time to even ask.
But immediately we stepped out of his private jet and into the car already waiting for him, I knew.
Wait. Am I dreaming or did we just landed in Spain?
I bounced my legs nervously in the passenger seat of the car as he drove.
I watched eagerly as we entered the small town. Even with the greenery on both sides of the road, it was still as bleak and dead as ever.
But even as bleak and dead as it was, I missed it. This place held memories of my childhood that would always stick with me. I swallowed nervously as Àlvaro placed his hand on my bouncing knee, successfully calming me down strangely.
We hadn't uttered a word to each other since he appeared suddenly on my front porch, telling me to pack my bags but I knew what he was trying to do and my heart completely melted at this man who totally has my heart.
This was the nicest thing he has ever done for me.
Everything was still so familiar. I even saw some familiar faces and I childishly lowered myself in the seat to avoid them noticing me. Àlvaro let put a slight chuckle and I couldn't help but laugh too.
“Thank you.” I murmured after our laughter died down and he nodded his head in acknowledgement.
“If anything, I should be the nervous one. I'm about to meet your mum for the first time.” Àlvaro said, turning down a small street leading to my mum's house. I wasn't even surprised that he knew exactly where my mum and brother lived. Knowing Àlvaro, I'm sure he knows about my life history. Also, he didn't yet agree to it but I knew he was the one that has been sending my mum those secret packages that she wouldn't stop talking about.
We stopped at a red light, right next to the familiar diner that I used to hang out in high school. I scooted lower in the seat until my head was barely visible.
Àlvaro eyed me warily. “Why do you keep doing that?” He asked as he continued to drive immediately the light turned green. I shook my head and quickly sat up straight.
“Nothing.” I said, gazing at him.
Dressed in black pants and a black t-shirt, he was truly the most gorgeous man I've ever laid my eyes on.
“You got a haircut?” I stated, smiling slightly.
“Nice of you to notice.” He muttered, avoiding my eyes.
Did something change? Because this is not the same Àlvaro from Saturday night.
“It looks good on you, Àlvaro.” I complimented him and watched in complete shock, surprise and amusement how he failed to keep his grin to himself.
“Wait. Àlvaro, are you blushing?”
He cleared his throat and scowled. “I'm a grown ass man, Camilla. I own a fucking mafia empire. I don't blush.”
“Aww, the big scary mafia boss is blushing.” I teased, enjoying how we went from stone cold silence to these playful banters. I laughed as Àlvaro glared at me.
“You're so cute. I'd offer to suck your dick right now but I'm pretty sure we'll soon get to our destination.” I said casually in another playful banter.
He shifted in his seat and I had a sense that my words had affected him more than I thought it would. His veiny hand reached over to hold my inner thigh, giving it a hard and cautionary squeeze. I subconsciously spread my legs further. That was how much effect this man had on me.
“I'm going to fuck that pretty little mouth if you don't stop with all that teasing.”
“You promise?” I asked breathlessly.
Àlvaro looked at me for a split second, perhaps to see if I was serious. But thinking back to the way he treated me last Saturday, I decided to tone it down a bit.
“We're here.” I murmured.
He turned to me as he started unbuckling his seatbelt. “Camilla, I'm sorry for the way I treated you last Saturday. I was angry and fucking jealous. I'll understand if you want me to wait in the car while you go to your mum but remember, when we get back, I want to fuck you the way you deserve.”
Pinch me, please!
I leaned forward and placed my lips on his. “I want you to come up with me.”
One thing Àlvaro doesn't know is that I have talked to my mum multiple times about this guy I liked named Àlvaro. Of course, she doesn't know the circumstances to it.
I sat up straight, wiping my palms on the hem of my dress as I gazed out to the building I called home. It had only been two years and I don't know why I was expecting it to be different.
Àlvaro packed in front of the closed garage door, turning to me for just a moment. I gave him a nervous smile as he gently took my hand in his, giving it a little squeeze.
I stepped out of the car, instantly absorbing the heat of the sun. It was always so scorching out here and it reminded me of one of the many reasons why I wanted to school in Miami in the first place.
We walked up to the porch, glancing at each other a few times. My knuckles hovered over the door and I took the moment to look at Àlvaro. He stood next to me, nearly reaching the doorframe and of course, I had to soak in how good he looked just standing there, about to meet the mother of the girl he kidnapped and threatened to kill multiple times.
What an interesting plot twist.
I shook my head, knocking on the door. After a few seconds later, I heard footsteps approaching.
When the door opened, I couldn't hide my surprise. My brother's brown eyes landed on mine and a grin spread across my cheeks because I hadn't seen him in ages and until now, I didn't know how much and how deeply I fucking missed him. He was seventeen but he ran into my open arms like a toddler.
He had gotten so much taller, taller than me and so much bigger, his curly hair had even grown out. He looked like a typical teenage boy.
“You didn't say anything about visiting!” He yelped excitedly. “If mama wasn't here, I'd have cussed your ass out for not visiting earlier.” He murmured the second sentence quietly, for my ears only and I chuckled through my teary gaze, giving him a small punch on the arm. Hector scowled, swatting my hand away.
“Hey mama! Come see who's at the door.” He screamed for my mum.
In his excitement, he had completely forgotten that he was blocking our path and we were still standing outside.
My mum immediately appeared on the door and immediately she saw me, the tears started coming down her cheeks. “Come here, baby.” She said, opening her arms and I stepped into it. I hugged her tightly, burying my face in her shoulder and breathing in her familiar smell of coconut and vanilla. It smelled like home and my tears threatened to fall once again.
I turned to Àlvaro when my mum finally released me. “Mum, Hector, this is Àlvaro. My uhm….my friend.”
My eyes widened when my mum enveloped him in one of her famous hugs. He had the widest, most beautiful smile on his face as he wrapped his arms around her.
“It's so nice to finally meet you, Àlvaro.” My mother said sweetly, letting go of him. He turned to me with a frown on his face.
Finally? His eyebrows quirked in question but I ignored him.
I watched as he shook hands with my brother.
All of a sudden, Hector breathed in a long and dramatic gasp. He was looking over Àlvaro's shoulders, his gaze fixated on the car parked in the driveway.
“No fucking way! Is that a GTR?” Hector asked and then his head snapped in my direction. “Camilla, do you know what that is?!”
I shrugged. “Not a clue.”
He gasped again, holding his chest. “Are you serious?” He turned to Àlvaro. “Is she serious right now?”
I rolled my eyes. Men!
