A feeling of intense rage deluged and flooded out her heart, she clenched her hands into fist and rushed into the room.
"Hey! What are you doing here? Who let you in here? This is a private room!" A. Man in black suits standing in the corner bellowed sternly.
The mysterious man on the sofa raised his hand as a sign of silence-ignore order. Afterwards, the man waved his hands again, telling the man in black to exit.
Diana's mind was still tumbling and weaving with flashbacks how this man was underlying reason her husband divorced and thrown her out. Although, everything went towards preparing her table.
The next instant, the man in black suit exited the room. When he reached the entrance he saw Jared, watching Diana closely. He as well stood with Jared not daring to utter a word.
Diana however was stunned, oh! So gigolo are rich enough to afford bodyguards now? On top of that, have the guts to tie a military shirt around his waist?
Looks like he has even been enjoying life for the past seven years.
Diana bit back her agitation and inched nearer carefully, "is it you?"
With that question, the man stood up and turned. He was wearing a red masquerade mask exposing his thin pink lips. His steely and enigmatic gaze gleaned.
Diana took a step back instinctively. Why is he imposing a powerful aura? Is he not just a gigolo? Did I get the man wrong?
No, I didn't. There is that unmistakable tattoo. Diana assured himself.
The man under the mask recognized this lady standing before her.
He wondered, "Why is she here? And why is she asking if he was the one?"
"Talk to me you unprofessional gigolo. Are you the one from that night, seven years ago?" Diana asked again, extending her explanation with the intention of jolting the man's memories. But, she was not done talking when the mysterious man's phone rang out, disrupting the moment.
"Hello", he said as he answered the call and placed the phone on his ear.
"Oh.... Alright I'm on my way!" With that said, he ignored Diana's presence and darted out. Before Diana could understand what was happening, he was out on the walkway, and the man wearing a black suit who is supposedly his bodyguard followed him.
They went opposite direction and Jared deduced they were leaving using the back door.
It took a while before Diana snapped out of her stupor. "This man?" , She heaved a sigh in dismay before she decided o trail him but she was too late, he was long gone.
With a frown, she hurried downstairs and soon left the bar with her entourage...
She had few minutes before her break gets over so she decided to spend it with her kids.
Soon, the red porsche she was inside stopped outside the five star generals villa and she got down heavy hearted. Anamika actually deceived her for the umpteenth time! That was embarrassingly annoying to Diana.
Likewise, Derrick had just gotten home heavy-hearted. Why would General Laura go the legendary erotic bar? On top of that, she asked some questions he didn't pay attention to. What were those questions again..."Seven years....." Oh shit, he couldn't remember.
He sat on the sofa and then a figure appeared on the living room, reminding him of what the kids had made him promise.
"Ask our mum to take us to our Daddy!" Chioma's little voice reverberated in his mind.
Derrick stood up, now, he was wearing the military shirt but unbuttoned, with a white singlet underneath, exposing his broad averagely muscular chest. Diana was lost in thought when Derrick approached her and grabbed her slender hands.
"General Laura!" He spoke gently. His hand felt a strong warm and gentle sensation the moment it grabbed Diana's arm. There was an electrifying flow through it. The touch was sufficient to jolt Diana out of the land of her thoughts and bring her to reality. The moment she raised her head, her eyes locked with his.
"Oh God! Not again...." She felt tensed all of a sudden. She didn't know why she had been doing all of her possible best to avoid him, still it keeps getting worse and each time she is with him, there is just this unusual feeling.
"Your three little Rugrats....." He suddenly spoke and as soon as his words registered, Diana's heart skipped and her emergency hormone automatically got stimulated. She thought and said, ", Are they okay?" In a panic struck voice, wanting to leave right the minute to check up on them. She has not seen them since morning and it's natural a mother would be worried for her kids, especially now that the five star general referred to them in such a tone.
"Yes, they're fine inside their room -" he sighed, realizing how much General Laura cares for her kids.
With that, Diana's racing heart calmed a bit but this man's piercing gaze still sent chills down her system.
The next instant Derrick hummed and inquired with a gentle voice, "They made me promised them I'd make you bring them to their Dad! General..... Who is their father? And why are you not with him?"
Diana's heart almost fell off when she heard that, "Her kids? She knew what they were capable of doing. Why and how did they make this cold man make such a promise to them? The most surprising thing was the colour of his eyes and the physical resemblance. This man in front of her was like an older version of her two sons.
Wondering why her kids would go to this extent, she decided to stall this conversation, Afterall it was a personal question and out of context, "it's personal sir! Can you not and please avoid asking me questions like this in the near future?" She humbly stalled and demanded.
"How then can you explain the striking resemblance that subsist between us?" Derrick asked involuntarily, betraying his thoughts.
Diana's heart got more troubled when she heard that, but she managed to smirk and put on a strong face, "oh..... about that, haven't you heard of virtual twins? It's possible to meet someone from another continent who surprisingly have a striking resemblance with us.... And clearly, it's all a coincidence. We've only just met a day ago...." Diana explained. That was the truth occuring to her afterall. She was not even the type that could lie and she can't even lie to him, it'd be too early to build their partnership based on a lie, although on a personal level.
There was however a second thought, as this figure before her looked like the man she had met at the private room of the legendary erotic bar few minutes ago. Same military shirt and black trouser, soon, she disbursed the second thoughts off.
Derrick made a humming noise the next second thinking about the possibilities of being a virtual twin to her two sons.
"I highly doubt- " he was not done talking when he was cut off. He was sure he was not the kid's father despite the resemblance. He was a man of his words and wanted to keep to his words by helping the kids find their father. It was worrisome that General Laura would deny her own kids the knowledge of their owm father. To his belief, there was no way he was the kids father, the only woman he has laid with for the past seven years was Anamika and it was seven years ago. Anamika - The woman he ravished to stop the activity of the drug his drink got spiked with seven years ago.
Derrick's voice trailed and died down when the beep of Diana's pager intensified. Atleast now, something had cut through her mystery. The pager beeping was an indication that her break was over and she needed to go check up on her patients before closing for the day, least her patients life are at heavy risks.
"I need to go!" Diana said and began to leave, she was kind of relieved and glad it beeped at that sensitive time. Otherwise, she didn't know how she would avoided him.
As she walked out, she couldn't help but think of getting done with work and meeting with her kids. It's been a long stressful day!
