In such a critical moment, Giorgio, with his dignified posture, sat on the sofa, tapping the armrest with his slender fingertips, elegant and noble.
He seemed indifferent to everything.
Save her, this cold-hearted man!
The sound of Katherine's high-heeled shoes stopped in front of the curtain.
Anna was on the verge of crying. But she dared not. The noise it would make… Anna was not a dainty crier by any means.
She closed her eyes tightly, constantly searching for excuses in her mind, preparing for the worst.
But at this moment, the man on the sofa finally spoke,
"Katherine, we're out of red wine at home. Go buy a bottle from the store outside."
Katherine's steps halted.
Although she and Giorgio were not intimate, they had spent some time together, and she knew about his picky and demanding nature. How could he drink red wine bought from a small place? Giorgio only ever consumed the most luxury products. Even his soap was worth like $40.
However, she wouldn't refuse his request, "Okay."
After saying that, she walked away from the villa.
But at the moment she walked out the door, she glanced at the feet below the curtain, and her beautiful eyes suddenly changed color.
Did she really have poor vision? How could she not see such obvious feet!
She wanted to see what kind of woman dare to seduce her fiancé! What kind of woman was worth the deceit of noble and rigorous Giorgio.
...
With the sound of footsteps receding, the villa returned to silence.
Anna's hanging heart finally returned to its place.
That was close, she had almost been discovered, luckily...
Though she hid, Giorgio helped her out and made it seem like they had an illicit relationship. She blushed and walked out, "Thank you, now, I'll leave first..."
"Leave?" Giorgio sneered, his sharp gaze locked onto her, "Why do you look exactly like Katherine?"
His voice was cold and questioning, like interrogating a criminal, implicitly explaining that she couldn't leave until she provided a clear explanation.
Anna's footsteps suddenly came to a stop.
Of course, she and her sister were twins. They looked exactly the same, and even they were surprised when they first met each other. It had been like a scene from a movie.
But how could she explain without revealing her true identity?
Her hesitation made Giorgio's already cold face even colder.
He stood up, walked elegantly in front of her, looked down at her, and his voice was unusually cold, "Cosmetic surgery? Pretending to be someone else? Trying to seduce me?"
Anna's eyebrows furrowed.
What? Cosmetic surgery? That was quite a stretch. Trying to seduce him?
She was all natural, even her eyelashes were natural, so how could she look like she had undergone cosmetic surgery? If anything, it was his whole family that needed it! No, that wasn’t true. He came from a long lineage of beautiful people.
She spoke up, "Sir, aren't you the one who made advances on me? I was just here to deliver food, and you held me, claimed it was role play, and then kissed me. It was clearly harassment. I can file a complaint against you!" When she mentioned their previous encounter, her face turned red with embarrassment.
Giorgio had never been scolded by anyone, not even the President would dare to disrespect him in the least, and now this girl was talking about suing him? Sexual harassment?
His black eyes narrowed, "Oh? Go ahead and sue. We'll see if the police think I'm harassing you, or if they'll sentence you for intentionally and illegally approaching me with the face of my fiance. Let's wait and see."
His magnetic voice carried a strong implication, dangerous.
He was a high-ranking man, she was just a poor commoner. A powerful man. The cops were his, the whole legal system was his.
But she really didn't deliberately approach him! She wanted to stay as far away from him as possible. If she had known this was his house, she would never have come here.
Anna felt aggrieved and angry. He didn't even apologize for hugging and kissing her earlier, and now he was accusing her unfoundedly?
Anna looked at him with an unusually determined expression, "Sir, haven't you heard of twins? I'm Anna, Katherine's twin sister! Meeting you was just an accident, and I hid just now because of some reasons that were inconvenient to appear in front of my sister. I was afraid of her misunderstanding. If you don't believe me, you can check."
Her voice was clear and resolute.
Giorgio furrowed his brows.
Twins? He hadn't even considered that possibility, and when did Katherine have a twin sister?
"And sir, someone like you who mistook his own wife, how can I possibly like you or try to seduce you, you blind man? I will never do that in my lifetime!"
With those words, Anna lifted her chin, turned around with a proud demeanor, and walked away.
Giorgio stared at the woman walking away, his handsome face quickly darkening.
Blind? Didn't like him? It sounded like she thought he was interested in her.
But...
Thinking about the scene earlier when he kissed her, his lips twitched.
Why did he feel something towards her?
It was like that satisfying night seven years ago...
