Chapter 24: YOU LIE!
Chapter 24: YOU LIE!
Onyx:
Mara guffawed demonically as she snapped her fingers, bringing forth four cloaked men whose eyes and hair matched their cloaks they wore.
“Let me introduce the “Hadakaran” or as your archives call them the “Unicorns”. Bringers of Death.” Mara’s green eyes flashed brightly, feeling the dagger heating up with each breath as Birgir stepped towards me, halted by the white cloaked man as my body lifted from the ground with a panting groan.
“Don’t hurt her.” Birgir exhaled heavily as Davyn and Mikkel, dropped down behind his panting blood soaked body. Shehad roared in pain as the cloaked man yanked the dagger from my back, transforming the ghostly white dagger into a long, twisted horn as he placed it to his forehead.
A swirling cloud of sparkling dust circled around the base, reattaching itself back to his milky smooth flesh with a clicking exhale of excitement.
“Dragon Royal.” He licked his pale pink lips with a toothy grin as the other three cloaked men matched his sinister expression.
“Now, complete our deal.” Mara turned sharply on her heel, gasping heavily as the three cloaked men disappeared and reappeared behind the guys, plunging the same daggers into their backs with growling roars.
Jun and Dirk froze in shock as the guys lifted from their feet, floating over the rubble that blanketed the floor as our dragons roared in agony from the black abyss of our locked subconscious.
“The Hadakaran are unique creatures, protectors of the Supernatural. The silent guardians of our special abilities.” Mara walked around their backs as they circled around our floating, numb bodies as their eyes glowed to life.
“Hashouk or Famine.” She patted his shoulders playfully as his eyes swirled with blackness, his black locks draped delicately over his shoulders under his hood.
Looking at the guys with a silent plea of my “Love”.
“Idaeus or War.” She hissed along his neck as his eyes glowed red with an inferno blazing against his red locks.
Forgive me my babies.
“Laban or Conquest.” Trailing her finger along his shoulder as his eyes turned a bright white, smirking behind the odd braid that wrapped around his neck in a long white tail.
“Lastly, Apor or Death.” The word hissed from her lips as his eyes flashed a ghostly hue of gray, hidden enough behind his messy gray bangs as his lips tilted up in satisfaction.
“You Monster.” Jun’s voice cracked heavily with sobs as Dirk thrashed and growled from his restraints, re-opening the healing wounds along his wrists and ankles as it painted the ground in a thin layer of crimson.
The soft flicker of silver against Birgir’s greenish-yellow orbs, sent a heart wrenching ache through my body as our bodies floated gently through the musk stricken air with a strange pulsing licking along my exposed flesh.
“See, in order for me to take back my rightful place as Queen, an equal exchange must be presented. The “Phoenix’s” are righteous guardians and harder to find, whereas the “Unicorns” are always eager to make a deal as long as it maintains a balance. So, you my precious Dragon Royals are my “live sacrifices” to the “Unicorns”.” Mara laughed triumphantly as the four cloaked men began chanting in a strange language, creating a glowing symbol along the floor beneath our floating bodies as our dragons roared with our silent screams.
The chanting grew louder as our bodies began to emit a soft glowing light, drifting off into the darkness that pulled heavily at my eyelids. A loud cracking crash, echoed around the darkness as thunderous thuds shook the eerie silence that swept over the chambers.
“Nultagi morra akhra yonnikorns!” (We meet again Unicorns!) Four familiar voices spoke in unison as the darkness shuttered and vibrated against their monstrous aura.
“Ama lek phenix.” (As to you Phoenix’s) The Unicorns spoke with a strange vibration in their timbered tones, feeling the rushing swoosh whip across my flesh as Shehad roared in response to the magnetic pulsing sensation that clashed heavily in the musky, dust riddled air.
“Bark alleh fe an yakon al-owsia!” (Bless be the guardians!) The four voices shouted in triumph as the pulsing amplified, sparking into a strange ball of flaming white light as the darkness shattered into a million little pieces, feeling my numb flesh slap heavily into the cool stone flooring.
Gasping loudly as large palms scooped me into a strange warmth, flinching back in pain as Shehad slowly pushed through the hazy barrier, healing the throbbing wound along my shoulder blade. Hearing the rattling clanks of chains as Jun and Dirk’s voices shouted out in fear, feeling the jolt of electricity rip through my heart as soft hands brushed along my cheeks.
“Onyx, open your eyes.” Jun’s voice sounded firm as loud clanking clashes, reverberated all around, pushing my eyelids open with a few blinks to rid the foggy mess of colors as my trio stared back at me with bright smiles.
“Hey.” They croaked out with shaky voices as Jun, smiled her “You’re in trouble” smirk as the raging roars sounded wildly behind us.
Sitting up quickly against the protests of my trio, watching the four cloaked men battle against…
“THE WATCHMEN”!!!” Cupping my mouth in shock as their hands glowed with fiery balls of energy, snapping and shocking the “Unicorns” as they battled one another for dominance.
“ENOUGH!” Shehad roared from my lungs, halting their movements mid-swing. Mara tried slithering away with a rude awakening as the Berserkers circled around her with snarling grunts.
“You.” Growling out as Mara tried to dart around the massive wall of snarling muscle, grabbing her by the throat as her blackened limbs thrashed against my hold.
Turning sharply to the “Unicorns” as they stood with perked brows and tilted smirks, tossing her nasty ass to their feet with a heavy thud.
“Finish your Deal.” Pointing to her, huffing out a ball of flaming smoke as the guys stood closely to my back with a hand supporting my wobbly legs.
“The deal is for you.” Mara snipped back as she stood slowly to her feet, looking over her shoulder as the four men watched her closely with a strange shadowing casted over their faces.
“Actually, my Dear Mara, you made one fatal mistake. Unicorns are indeed unique creatures, “Tricksters”. The deal was for Onyx, not Royal Guardian Queen Onyx and the unborn hatchlings she currently carries.” Desmond slithered out from the wall of Berserkers as his crimson eyes glowed with a magnificent hue of red against his long black locks.
“YOU LIE!” Her voice screeched in agony as her body lifted from the ground.
“The Bringers of Death have a cunning method to their words, and when you originally made your “Deal”, Onyx was not crowned. Once she was crowned as the Queen of the Dragon Realm, your agreement with “them” changed.” Desmond smiled darkly, pointing his slender finger towards the four cloaked men that circled around her whimpering body.
“Are you okay?” Davyn whispered along my neck as we watched the “boys” form another circle behind the “Unicorns” chanting in that strange language as the “boys” placed a glowing purple barrier around them.
“I’m great.” Whispering softly, smiling over my shoulder at their bright smiles as a blinding white light engulfed the chambers with a strange swirling energy.
Leaning into their embrace as white glowing chains wrapped around Mara’s body in a sparkling dance of floating dust as her body slowly faded away against the blinding light that radiated from the detailed symbol under her feet. A bright flash and they were gone.
“Where’d they go?” Mikkel held his hand out in disbelief, laughing softly as the Berserkers slowly drifted away like blowing sand mixed with smoke, feeling Shehad relax back into the shadows.
“Home.” Desmond smiled with a wink, brushing his silky black locks from his shoulder as he turned around on his heel “poofing” away with a husky laugh.
“That actually sounds good. Home.” Dirk laughed softly, scooping Jun into his chest as her cobalt eyes misted with happiness.
Gasping lightly as Davyn lifted me up bridal style, playfully slapping his chest as we misted back to Demon Wolf.
