Chapter 1043: They Are Living in the Same Room?

"Hey, why don't the three of us share a room?" Jett started to suggest, but quickly realized his mistake when he saw Timothy and Dash, both towering at six feet tall.

Forget it, he thought. At five foot nine, he knew three grown men wouldn't fit comfortably in two rooms.

Dash looked at Timothy and said, "Why don't you make the call, Dr. Reed?"

Among their group, Timothy and Catherine were the closest, and rumors about them had been circulating around the hospital for a while. They were likely an unofficial couple, and this situation could work out perfectly for them.

Everyone turned to Timothy, waiting for his decision.

Timothy's face was expressionless, lost in thought.

Just as he was about to speak, the receptionist chimed in, "Actually, there's no need to worry. These two rooms are the more expensive presidential suites, with a layout that includes separate living and sleeping areas. This should help avoid any unnecessary awkwardness."

Catherine, who had been feeling anxious, couldn't help but feel a surge of joy at this news.

It seemed like fate was on her side for this trip.

She knew she had to seize this opportunity to get closer to Timothy.

With this thought, Catherine felt even more excited.

However, she didn't show it on her face, instead displaying a shy and embarrassed demeanor.

Jett and Dash noticed her bashful expression and exchanged knowing glances.

"Alright, that works. Special circumstances call for special arrangements. Price isn't an issue. Dash and I will share a room," Jett decided.

Dash nodded repeatedly, "Sounds good."

"Okay, I guess that's settled then," Catherine said, lowering her head and looking embarrassed.

Timothy, who hadn't said a word from the beginning, couldn't object now.

So, the group checked in and went to their respective rooms.

The presidential suite was impressive.

Both the living and sleeping areas were spacious, with floor-to-ceiling windows offering a stunning view of the night skyline.

Catherine was even more pleased.

This was the perfect setting for a romantic getaway.

"You," Catherine said, looking at the sofa in the living room, "Are you comfortable sleeping on the sofa? Would you prefer to rest in the bedroom?"

Timothy felt a strange resistance to her suggestion but simply replied, "No, I'm fine on the sofa."

Catherine wasn't discouraged. She knew Timothy was a gentleman and wouldn't act impulsively before their relationship was confirmed.

Otherwise, he wouldn't have stayed single all these years, waiting for her to return.

After their brief conversation, Catherine and Timothy went about their business and settled in for the night.

Meanwhile, three floors below, Mary was tossing and turning, unable to sleep.

She and Rachel were chatting and scrolling through their phones when they came across a video of a cat, which reminded Mary of something. She quickly messaged Timothy: I just remembered, Jazz's stomach still needs post-treatment care. Be careful when feeding him and make sure he takes his medication on time.

After sending the message, she realized something was off.

They had been so close last night, but today, after a whole day of traveling, he hadn't sent her a single message.

What was he doing today?

Was he performing another major surgery?

But he hadn't messaged her since the morning. What kind of surgery would take this long?

Putting her phone down, Mary couldn't help but let her mind wander.

With no reply for a long time, she grew anxious, tossing and turning in bed.

"Are you nervous?" Rachel asked, noticing Mary's restlessness.

"What?" Mary was startled, then smiled, "No, I'm just turning over."

Forget it, she thought. Maybe Timothy hadn't seen the message. Should she call him instead?

Waiting was too torturous.

Mary gathered her courage and picked up her phone to call him.

Timothy had just poured himself a glass of water and sat down when his phone rang.

Mary?

Timothy's heart skipped a beat as he picked up the phone.

Mary's soft, gentle voice came through, like a refreshing spring, washing away the day's fatigue.

Timothy's voice unconsciously softened, "Hey, what's up?"

After a whole day without contact, she called just to ask what's up?

Mary bit her lip and asked, "Are you busy? Should I call you later?"

"No," Timothy shook his head, "If you have something to say, go ahead."

"It's nothing major. I just wanted to remind you that Jazz's stomach isn't fully healed yet. Make sure he continues his medication, and watch his diet."

"I had to go on an urgent trip today and didn't get a chance to tell you," Timothy replied. "I took Jazz to the pet store."

"What?" Mary was taken aback. "Where did you go?"

"Timothy, I can't sleep. Can you talk to me for a bit?"

Timothy was about to respond when Catherine, who had gotten out of bed without him noticing, spoke up from behind him.

In the quiet room, Catherine's voice was clear and loud enough for Mary to hear on the other end of the call.

Timothy turned around to see Catherine in a black silk nightgown, gracefully walking towards him.

The nightgown accentuated Catherine's curves perfectly.

She wore a gentle smile, which surprised Timothy.

"It's late. I'll hang up now," Timothy said, lowering his eyes and ending the call.

Mary heard everything, and her heart sank.

Catherine and Timothy were on a trip together, sharing a room?

"Timothy."

Catherine sat on the armrest of the sofa, looking at Timothy expectantly.

"It's late. Just lie down, and you'll fall asleep soon," Timothy said, not intending to chat, as he picked up his water glass.

Catherine was taken aback by Timothy's coldness.

She smiled again, "Can you lie down with me?"

As she spoke, Catherine wrapped her arms around Timothy's neck.

Timothy didn't push her away, making Catherine's heart leap with joy.

Sometimes, not rejecting is a form of acceptance, right?

Her warm, smooth arms brushed against Timothy's neck as she whispered in his ear, "In this place filled with our shared memories, will you stay with me?"

Catherine leaned into Timothy's embrace.

But Timothy gently and firmly lifted her up.

"It's late. Get some rest. I'll take you somewhere tomorrow."

Catherine felt disappointed by his rejection but was intrigued by his last words.

Could Timothy have a surprise planned for her?

With this thought, Catherine's eyelashes fluttered. She said goodnight to Timothy and went to bed.

Timothy turned off the lights and lay on the sofa, staring at the dark sky outside, his mind drifting to the events of the past few days with Mary.

Mary's call had left him wide awake.
