Chapter 25 Disobeying him

Chapter 25 Disobeying him
Jackie groaned and pushed herself up again with her lip split. Bridget spat dirt and Kera’s eyes burned. They exchanged glances, unspoken agreement and then all three came at me at once.

I barely dodged Bridget’s swing when Kera’s fist slammed into my side. Pain bloomed sharp, followed by another blow to my jaw from Jackie. My vision blurred for a heartbeat as I stumbled back, tasting blood.

“Thought you were tough, huh?” Kera sneered, circling me.

“Little freak thinks she can take us,” Bridget spat, wiping blood from her mouth.

“Let’s see that confidence now,” Jackie added with a cruel smirk.

They attacked without rhythm, all at once, clawing, kicking, pulling at my arms. It wasn’t a fight, it was a pack tearing at a single target. I tried to block, to counter, but they moved like a storm, fury and jealousy driving them faster than thought.

A kick to my stomach sent me sprawling onto my back. The air rushed out of my lungs. Dust filled my mouth. I looked up just in time to see Bridget’s boot come down, missed my ribs by inches. I rolled to the side, coughing, trying to stand again, but a fist caught my cheek.

The crowd roared in confusion, some cheering, some shouting at the Alpha to stop it.

My gaze snapped to him.

He stood there, arms crossed, expression unreadable. No command. No intervention. Just watching. Enjoying.

Rage surged through me, hotter than the pain.

So this was it. He wanted to see me broken. To let them tear me apart for his amusement.

“Pathetic,” Kera spat, shoving me down again.

“Stay down, bitch,” Bridget hissed.

The world tilted, but I stayed conscious.

Fine. If he wasn’t going to stop them… then I’d end it myself.

My inner wolf howled out, urging me to let my inner beast free. "Hold on," I warned myself of the results of me shifting and showing the power that she possessed. I will slaughter these girls. I held back for as long as I could before control was finally lost.

My body began to shake. Air around me began to fade as I gasped for much needed air. Vibrations surged through my bones as they began to crack, shifting and deforming my once humanly body.

My skin, once smooth was now covered in white fuzz that quickly lengthened out. I continued to try to contain myself but I knew I had lost that battle moments ago.

Fully shifted and filled with rage, I shook the girls off of me before I snapped my teeth at the scared party.

My claws dug into the soft dirt as my head lowered. Teeth exposed and my body in attack stance, I dared them to shift so we could finish this game.

Eyes watched me very closely but my eyes remand fixated on the three daring she-wolves. A sharp, threatening growl escaped me. I wanted them to shift. I wanted them to test me again. I dare them to.

All was quiet except my low and dangerous growls that left me every few seconds, a warning to show that I was not up for the shit.

"SHIFT BACK!"

My head snapped in the direction of the command. I opened my mouth slightly until my sharp canines were exposed to him in an almost threatening way.

"Now!!"

I tried to ignore him; I struggled to ignore his command.

"SHIFT BACK OR I SHIFT." His tone was threatening so I knew he would shift. By me showing my teeth to him, I knew if he shifted, blood would definitely be shed then my dead body will be taken to my father who will be happy.

Almost hesitant, I finally gave in and began to transform back into my human form. Fur retracted back into my skin and my bones returned to normal until I was just an exposed human sitting in the grass. Wide eyes stared at me. Not due to my naked body but they read something else. Curiosity? Shock? I'm guessing no one has ever disobeyed their precious Alpha. But I did it again.

Lyra ran out on the field, handing me a blanket to wrap around myself.

"Thank you." I tightened the material around my flesh as I stood to my feet. My head low, I walked past the wondering eyes and also the angry ones.

I guess I showed them. My inner wolf felt noble, satisfied, and almost powerful. She also felt something else. Nervous...

Just as I was passing via the Alpha, his angry dominant voice made me stop in mid motion.

"Take her and lock her in my office," he ordered angrily and the nearby werewolves gasped.

I was dead again.

The guard didn't hesitate gripping my hands. He dragged me to the Alpha’s office but I was glad this time it wasn’t the guard, I knew. I really hated him.

My nerves frazzled at the thought of being kept as a prisoner again. What was Kael going to do with me now? I doubted he'd show any mercy after how I treated his warriors in his presence.

"I'm going to lock you up in the Alpha's office till he comes," the guard said while pushing the keys inside and unlocking the office. I stepped inside while he stayed out, "If you need anything, let me know, I will be outside and try not to go through the Alpha's things, he doesn't like that."

"Thank you and I will try," I replied quickly.

He closed the door and locked it from outside. I puffed out a breath when I heard his footsteps disappearing from the hallway.

The soaring electricity inside me kept me anxious and scared at the same time. I didn't know what punishment he was going to give me this time.

Whatever it was, I still knew it in my heart that I will never obey his rules.

I was a raging female wolf that would harm anyone and Kael was no less. Destruction and havoc would stem our path if we ever got together.

I couldn't let that happen.

Not now, not ever. I now wanted to disobey him until he finally rejects me or let me free.
