Chapter 12: Brayden's POV
Brayden watched from the garage of the apartment building as Jackson and Emma drove out of site. His heart ached with a heavy mix of emotions. This was something he had never experienced until now. He was usually a very emotionless man, and nothing got under his skin. This however was a very different situation.
“God I am going to miss them so much, but especially Emma.” He thought out loud as he got into the elevator and went back up to his apartment. Once, back upstairs the apartment already felt lonely. He missed Emma’s warm welcoming laughter and the way she smelled of lavender. She was such a carefree spirit with so much love in her heart. Brayden had never been around anyone like her. He knew her heart belonged to Jackson, but he felt like there was a part there that belonged to him too. “I would never take her away from Jackson. We just work well together, and I am certain that would never become an issue.” He sat down on his bed running all of this through his head. Brayden was supposed to have been going into the office today for a meeting they had, but there was no way he could focus on that right now. With a sigh, he texts his brother Brent.
“Hey, man, I just can’t function today. Too much on my mind. Emma and Jackson just left. Can you cover for me in the meeting?” Brayden lay in his bed curled up in a ball waiting for Brent’s reply.
“Of course, dude. What kind of brother would I be if I didn’t? Brent texted back. “I knew today was going to be hard for you. There was no denying the evident connection you have formed with them. I have never seen you like this with any woman you have ever dated. Emma is very special. Maybe even one in a million. You love her, don’t you?”
“I do Brent. I am absolutely in love with her.” Brayden said as tears ran down his cheeks. “This is something I would have never imagined happening, but it works. Jackson and I know what she needs, what she wants, and we just flow like we have been together for years. Plus, this is strange to me the coincidence, but did you know that they also cannot have children? How odd is that because obviously none of this would work with children involved.”
“Really? No, I did not know that, and yes that is strange. Maybe it is fate. I believe you feel the way you do man. I could see myself falling for her. In a different situation of course. At the end of the day though if that is what makes you happy then do it. Whatever it takes. Do not worry about work. I have you covered for as long as you need. If anything comes up that I can’t handle I will call you.” Brent replied.
“Thank you, Brent. It means the world to me. I am lucky to have such an awesome big brother.” Brent laughed as they ended the call. Brayden rolled on his back staring at the ceiling with images of Emma running through his head. When Jackson first introduced him to Emma he was astounded by her beauty. She was a simple country girl. If she wore makeup it was very little, and she wore basic everyday clothes, not all that designer bullshit, but all he focused on were those sexy curves in her tight jeans and her beautiful blue eyes that sparkled when she talked. God and those kissable soft lips. Oh, how he longed to feel her beside him. This made his cock stand at attention thinking about Emma. Brayden slowly began stroking his cock through his boxers. He moaned as he pictured Emma’s perfect lips wrapped around him, licking, and sucking him.
“Yes, Emma.” Brayden moaned out loud as he took his cock out and started pumping it faster and harder. It didn’t take him long before he erupted all over his hand. He shook his head panting out of breath and said, “I am not going to make it without her.” Brayden grabbed a tissue from the nightstand and wiped up his mess.
As he lay there he began to go back to his thoughts of Emma. There was just something about her – her kindness, her warmth, her infectious laughter. She was unlike anyone he had ever met. The girls he had been out on dates with were money-hungry whores. All they focused on was his wealth. He didn’t want that for his future. He wanted someone that loved him as much as he loved them. Someone he could grow old with and share his good fortune with. This is why he wanted to buy some land outside of the hustle and bustle of the city so maybe that would entice them more to move here with him. Brayden found himself drawn to her in a way he could not quite explain. The strangest thing about all of it though was that it didn’t bother him that she was married to Jackson and that Jackson was a part of this adventure.
Oddly enough, Brayden enjoyed it more. It turned him on knowing that Jackson got so much enjoyment out of watching them together. Was he wrong for that feeling? If he was, he didn’t care. He would be with Jackson and Emma somehow some way.
He wished he could just make that pang of loss go away. He did not know how he would deal with not having her vibrant presence in his life every day. It was too much to bear, but he knew he needed to give them the space they needed to think over his proposition. He would give them at least a week and if they had not decided, he would fly south to get one face-to-face. Brayden finally dozed back off to sleep, dreaming about Emma and waiting for her phone call when they got back to the farm. He would be counting down the days until he could hold her again.
