Chapter 277
The caregiver was just hired today, but they only handled nursing care. It would be ideal if he could find a discreet person to take care of the meals.
Robert was thinking about this as he left the hospital room, and then the ward.
In the elevator lobby, five or six men were already standing ramrod straight. When they saw him come out of the ward, they instantly formed a line, heads held high.
Robert was speechless. “Did Edwin tell you to come here?”
“Yes.”
The man at the front reported, “Mr. Cruz, there are a few more of our guys on the first floor, and some under the room’s window as well.”
Robert: …
Robert looked at their matching outfits and felt a headache coming on. “You guys… don’t scare people!
The security in this country is very good. This is unnecessary.”
“Mr. Cruz, it’s our duty.”
Forget it, forget it, forget it…
Robert was helpless, knowing they wouldn’t leave. “Well, don’t be so conspicuous then. Be more low–key!”
When he brought Lucille back from abroad, there were at least thirty bodyguards hidden among the regular passengers on their flight.
Dozens more had followed on the next flight.
Edwin was really being too paranoid.
He could understand being protected so closely abroad–after all, his father’s side of the family was like a pack of wolves, wishing he’d drop dead. But here, in this country, it really wasn’t
necessary…

The bodyguards felt wronged, too. They were already being very low–key, just wearing plain T- shirts. What could they do if they accidentally bought the same style?
Besides, their height and muscles were a bit conspicuous, but there was nothing they could do about that…
Robert was helpless. “Alright, alright, just leave it.”
Just then, the elevator arrived. Robert stepped in, and two bodyguards followed him.
“Tsk.”
Robert gave a wry smile. “You don’t need to follow me. Just stay here. Oh, and if Cedrick shows up, don’t let him in.”
“Yes, sir.”
The two bodyguards stepped back out.
A car was waiting to pick Robert up. When he got in, he saw more bodyguards inside, and Edwin was there too.
“Edwin, this whole setup…” He didn’t know whether to laugh or cry.
Edwin said, “Mr. Cruz, it’s very important to guard against petty people.”
Fine.
Edwin took him to a detached villa.
It was spacious enough, complete with a garden and a swimming pool. It had six floors, including the basement, and dozens of rooms.
After a tour, Robert wasn’t too satisfied.
Edwin could tell. “Time was tight. This is the best one we could find for now.”
“Forget it, this will do. It’s big enough. Lucille and Grandma are only staying for a month before they leave anyway. It’s uncertain if we’ll even come back. We can’t change the fixtures, but replace all the soft furnishings.”
“Yes, sir.”
Edwin knew his preferences and had guessed he wouldn’t like this overly opulent style of decoration.

“Have you found a housekeeper?”
This was his main concern.

“It’s a bit difficult right now. How about we transfer someone from overseas?”
“Let’s look for someone while we arrange the transfer. A few more wouldn’t hurt.”
Since he was already out, Edwin also had some business matters to ask him about, so although Robert was anxious to return to the hospital, he still went with Edwin to the company–a company still in the planning stages.
Meanwhile, Cedrick had arrived at the hospital. He parked his car, grabbed the soup, and entered the inpatient building.
However, just as he reached the elevator lobby, before he could even press the button, he was surrounded by several men in black T–shirts, all of them tall and imposing.
“Who are you?”
Cedrick became wary.
“Mr. Maynard.”
one of the bodyguards said coldly.
“Who are you?”
How did they know him?
“What do you want?”
“Please go back, Mr. Maynard. You can’t enter here.”
