Chapter 255
He thought the grandmother might be in Seaston, but it was really strange. He had checked every place she might have gone, but there was no sign of her at all.
But he never thought anything had happened to her, because Lucille had hidden her away. He believed that with how much Lucille loved her grandmother, she would definitely keep in touch with her, even from abroad. If her grandmother was in any danger, Lucille would have notified him immediately–after all, he was Lucille’s only family in the country.
The other three Radfords didn’t count.
The company had been unusually busy during that time, so he didn’t keep pushing the issue. He focused most of his energy on the company, just having his driver check every now and then to see if the grandmother had come home.
Who would have thought that the grandmother would actually be missing!
Lucille wouldn’t answer his calls, so he had no idea what had happened. He could only guess at every possibility: Was she sick?
Did she collapse somewhere on the street?
And, who might be involved.
If she was sick, the hospitals would have information–he told his driver to check them one by
one.
If she collapsed somewhere or was in danger, someone would have found her, and the police would know–he was sure Lucille had already reported it.
As for other possibilities, the people connected to the grandmother were the Radfords—he hadn’t forgotten the greedy looks on their faces when they wanted to take the house in the village.
And the fact that the Radfords had all disappeared was very strange.
Just like Lucille, the first person he thought of was Jaxon in the detention center. And just like Lucille, he was told that Jaxon had already been bailed out.
Who bailed him out!
Following the trail step by step, he became certain that the grandmother had been taken by the

Radfords. The biggest question was who had given them the money for the bail.
He had to go to the local police station!
It was already evening when he arrived at the local police station.

Coincidentally, Lucille, who had been refusing his calls, was also at the police station, with another man.
The reason Lucille was at the police station was that the police had told her they had located the phones of her grandmother and the other three members of her family.
She thought she had found a glimmer of hope, but the greater the hope, the greater the disappointment.
Grandma’s phone was found, in the bushes of a public park…
Those three from her family are ruthless. Were they afraid she’d call the police and use the phone’s location to track them?
Tears streamed down her face as she held the phone, sealed in an evidence bag by the police. This was the phone she used to video chat with her grandma every day!
“The other three people’s phones were located in a neighborhood. It’s probably where they live. We went to check, but no one was home.”
the police officer told her.
“Don’t worry, we’ll keep looking.”
Afraid she couldn’t handle it, Robert put his arm around Lucille’s shoulder and let her lean on him.
Cedrick arrived just then, and the first thing he saw was Lucille leaning on another man’s shoulder.
“Lucille!”
He rushed in and yanked Lucille out of Robert’s arms.
Her wrist ached from his pull, and she looked annoyed. “What are you doing?
You better not lose it right now. I’m in no mood to talk to you!”
All she could think about was her grandma’s safety; she didn’t want to hear about anything else.

“Who is he?”
Cedrick glared hostilely at Robert.
Lucille was about to speak, but Robert stepped in to protect her.
“Lucille, let’s go.”
He gave Cedrick a cool, passing glance.
“Stop!”
