Chapter 56: 41-1
I wake up with a start when I hear a loud thump. Where the hell am I? I look around my dark surroundings, momentarily unaware of where I am. Good thing I didn't get drunk or else I'd have no recollection of what happened. But then again, maybe that would have been a good thing. I get up with a groan and head towards the noise. I'm walking by the bathroom when my body makes contact with another. "Ow!" I whisper yell. Jaewook looks down at me with wide eyes. "Noona—" "Jaewook, why the hell aren't you wearing any clothes?" I ask as I close my eyes. "I don't feel well," he mutters. I look at his face and notice the hair sticking to his forehead and the glisten of sweat. "What hurts?" I ask, now growing worried. This is his first hangover after all. "My stomach, my head," he grumbles. "Let me go find some water for you, just go lie down." He nods and drags his feet to the room across the hall. I search the cupboards for a cup and fumble with what seems like a filtered water system. "I want some too," a high voice says behind me. "Geez Hansoo, you scared me." He begins to giggle, and then I realize that he's still drunk. "Is Noona still mad at Dannie," he pouts, the whites of his eyes glowing in the moonlit darkness. "I'm not mad at Dannie, but I will beat Hansoo's butt when he wakes up," I say sternly as I hand him a glass. I see his Adam's apple bob in fear. "Ha-Hansoo says he's sorry. He wants you to keep it a secret from sober Jaewookie." "No can do." His eyebrows raise in the middle. "Why!" He whines. "Because, I don't keep secrets from my boyfriend." He pouts, his face now turned into a frown as he takes a drink of water. "You're mean," he mutters like a kid. "No, I'm not. I just don't like secrets." "But Dannie love secrets." I roll my eyes, take Jaewook's glass of water, and head to the hall. I hear the padding of footsteps following behind me. When I reach the door, Hansoo stands behind me still. "Hansoo, go to bed." "But I want to have sleepover." "You've caused enough trouble, please just go to sleep." I almost feel bad when I catch the sadness in his eyes. He looks like a scolded puppy. "Jaewook's sick, he can't have a sleepover." "Oh... did Dannie make him sick?" "No, don't worry. Just go to sleep." "Okay," he softly says before turning and waddling away. "I'm going to kill him when he's sober," I mutter as I close the door behind me. "Kill who?" Jaewook asks from his curled up position on the bed. The sheets are all thrown off of him. "Jaewook, can you at least put on your boxers? I can't be near you with that thing out." He softly giggles, but is clearly still feeling sick as he struggles to sit up. I hand him the boxers from the floor and wait for him to be decent. "Okay." "Drink this." I hand him the glass and put my hand on his forehead. Hot, why is it so hot? Hangovers don't usually give fevers. "Jaewook, are you sick?" His eyes widen as he continues to drink the water. He shakes his head. "I had a little sore throat yesterday but that's it. It might have just been the air quality." "Air quality was good yesterday. Why didn't you tell me? You should never drink alcohol if you're sick, it'll just make you worse." I put a hand to my own forehead in exhaustion. Then I leave and find a face towel to wet with cold water. Going into the kitchen, I search for a bowl to fill with cold water and ice from the freezer. When I return, his cup of water is empty. I sit beside him on the bed and lift his hair to place the damp cloth on his forehead. He whimpers a bit from the cold temperature and closes his eyes. "Noona," he croaks out. "I love you." My heart suddenly beats loudly at the sudden statement. I stroke his hair. "I love you too." He settles so that his head leans against my shoulder, body splayed out and shining from his sweat. His breathing is shallow, his lips pale. "Go to sleep, okay? I'll stay." He simply nods. Soon enough he's asleep, soft breathing sounds leaving his parted lips. I keep the cold towel on his forehead, dunking it in the ice water when his temperature has warmed it up too much. I'm freezing. Without any sheets and constantly dipping my hand in ice water, I soon begin shivering from the cold. I adjust my body so that Jaewook lays against me completely, his back against my torso and his head curled into my neck. His body heat helps keep me a bit warmer. After maybe the fifth dip of ice water, I feel myself fall asleep. . . . The curtains weren't closed in this room, so the morning sun blinds me once it rises. I groan, my body feeling sore from my awkward sleeping position. Jaewook is still asleep against me. I hear noise from the kitchen and assume Hansoo is awake making breakfast already. I lift my hand to Jaewook's forehead. It isn't hot like it was last night, thank god. I may have broken the fever. His body is soaked in moisture, a telltale sign that he sweated the fever out of him. He whimpers as he comes awake, his body curling around me subconsciously. "Wookie," I coo softly. "Baby boy." I run my fingers through his hair. His eyes flutter open. I watch as the expression in them go from neutral to panicked. He sits up with a start but then holds his head from the fast movement. "Jaewook, what's wrong?" I ask. "Where am I?" His voice sounds painfully hoarse. "We're at Hansoo's house. You don't remember?" "The last thing I remember is getting up to pay the bill." He doesn't remember. "We came here and stayed since you were quite drunk." "I was drunk? Was I okay? Did I hurt you?" His eyes are round in worry as he frantically looks at me. I reach a hand out to hold his face. "You were okay baby, you didn't hurt anyone. Just horny, very very horny." His body slumps in relief. "Wait, did we have sex?" "No," I laugh. "Okay good. It would suck if I couldn't remember."
