Chapter 73

Freshia Ava’s POV

I saw the condition of the people around me who were busy walking back and forth. Most of their faces looked panicked, and quite a few were even crying. Then not long afterward a woman came over to me and carried me. He took me into the house and stood by the coffin. "Hey, God loves your father more, so He took your father before us." Said the woman who was carrying me and now she turned to me.

I could clearly see that shady face. The woman was very beautiful even though she no longer looked young. Now her eyes are puffy and a little red, but this doesn't reduce the radiance of beauty from her dignified face. "Forgive your mother, Freshia." She said suddenly while tightening her arms around me. Mom? Why is she still around me when my father is gone? What is this actually?

I was just silent and confused by everything in front of me. So the woman carrying me is my mother? After that, I glanced a little at the coffin where my father's body was lying stiffly. However, I couldn't remember anything until not long after a middle-aged woman came into the room crying hysterically. That's grandma, isn't it?

"You unlucky woman, Evelyn! How can my child leave me at such a young age? Why did you just let him go? You should have tried to save him, Evelyn! Why didn't you just die in that accident?!” My Grandma exclaimed while pointing at me and the woman who called herself Mami.

Evelyn? For a moment, I felt very familiar with that name. Her full name is Evelyn Winston?

Then I felt something invisible pulling me and waking me up. I opened my eyes in surprise and found that I was gasping for breath, and my forehead was covered in sweat. “Freshia.” That very familiar voice suddenly caught my sense of hearing and I found Eros beside me, sitting on the side of the bed. I, who was still confused, just stared at him in silence. But a split second later, tears began to fill my eyes.

Seeing that, Eros immediately embraced my body which was still lying down and into his arms. After that, he hugged my body tightly. "Don't be afraid, I'm here, Freshia." He said that he meant to calm me down. However, instead of becoming calmer, I cried uncontrollably and all that time, Eros maintained his embrace on my body.

About five minutes later, the sound of my crying slowly stopped and Eros began to loosen his hug on me, until he slowly let go of the hug to see my current condition. “I've called George. He's on his way here to check on you, Freshia. Don't worry." He said again while wiping the tears from my face and eyes.

"Eros, you said at that time that you knew about my parents. Therefore, I want you to tell me everything now.”

“Did you see anything when you fainted earlier, Freshia?”

“Evelyn Winston, that's Mrs. Winston's real name, isn't it?” I immediately shot Eros with my words. However, he did not immediately provide any response. "Is it true that she is my mother?" I asked again.

Eros still looked at me silently. Then a few seconds later he took a deep breath. “You can finally remember that again, Freshia?”

"Earlier, when I lost consciousness, I was shown a flashback of my childhood in my dream." After that, I told him all the events that had appeared in my memory when I fainted. “All the flashbacks came suddenly when I saw the face of the woman who greeted you at the party. The half of her face that was not covered by the mask was very similar to the woman who appeared in my previous dream. Then, when I called the name of the woman who turned out to be Mrs. Winston, for some reason my brain was suddenly filled with various kinds of unformed memories and made my ears ring violently, after which I lost consciousness." I told him again about the thing that caused me to faint just like that.

"I'm sorry for ruining everything, Eros." I said again in a low voice.

“Hey, nothing is more important than your health, Freshia. Besides, after we left, the event was still going on."

“How long was I unconscious, Eros?"

Eros immediately raised one of his hands which had a watch on his wrist. “About thirty minutes.”

"Does that mean the party is still going on now?" I asked.

Eros seemed to frown, feeling strange about the question I had just asked. "Possible. So what?" He answered and then asked me again.

I didn't immediately answer what he said. Looks like I'm still wondering whether I can ask this now. And as usual, when he saw me looking doubtful, Eros immediately grabbed my hand to hold. “Just say it to me,” he said.

Suddenly I turned and looked at him, then I started to convey my meaning. "If Mrs. Winston is still at the party, I want to talk to her, Eros."

Eros smiled. “Easy, Freshia. I'll make an appointment with Mrs. Winston so you can meet her one-on-one. But not now because you have to recover first." Eros said. And at the same time, someone rang the bell of the hotel room we were staying in. Eros immediately went towards the door and peeked briefly to see who the guests were that night. After that, he immediately opened the door and George's figure appeared from behind the door. I, who had been staring at the door, immediately breathed a sigh of relief when I saw George's figure emerging from there. Who did I expect to appear from behind that door?

After that, George immediately came over to me and checked my condition. Assisted by Eros, I told him again what happened in my dream when I lost consciousness. “You managed to recall a fragment of your past memory when you saw the person you thought might be the person who appeared in your previous dream. And it was such a heavy blow for you, that your brain went into overdrive and made you lose consciousness. What you need now is to rest and don't think about it for too long. It would be a good idea for you to talk directly to Mrs. Winston to tell you everything. That would be easier for you than having to try to remember it yourself using your weak memory.”

I just nodded my head, trying to comply with what George suggested. Although I'm sure it won't be easy for me to sleep tonight because it will always be ringing in my mind. Why are the pieces of my memory shown in my dream different from what my grandmother told me so far? In fact, someone who called herself Mamiku was still there when Papi was gone. What really happened?
