Chapter 56

Freshia Ava’s POV

I saw that look again. A sad gaze that looks clear like a pool of calming water. My mind was suddenly filled with blue eyes, sad gazes, and Eros. The more I looked into Eros' eyes, the more familiar I felt with that gaze. But not long after, I felt a sudden, intense dizziness attack my head until I lost consciousness. And the last thing I heard was Eros's voice calling my name in a worried tone.

I opened my eyes and found myself on the bed in my room, but not only me, Eros was also there. He fell asleep next to me facing me. I started to pay attention to his face. His face didn't look the least bit scary when he was sleeping like this. Instead of being scared, I found beauty in the face in front of me. All the senses on his face are arranged proportionally on his face. Her skin is not too white, nor too brown. Very fitting for him. Suddenly I smiled without realizing it.

The smile didn't last long when I saw the wrinkles on his forehead. He seemed to be going through a nightmare. Without hesitation, I immediately massaged his forehead slowly to remove the wrinkles. But when I saw his face like that, I suddenly remembered the moment I spent at the hospital. At that time I saw him deliriously calling his mother and his eyes opened full of confusion. After that, I remembered those two blue eyes that looked at me sadly, only a few moments before he finally left, leaving me in the treatment room at that time.

Then my memory shifted to when Eros and I had dinner together but there I made him emotional until finally he took me to the room and tied my hands and feet. I immediately moved my hand away which was previously still on his forehead and I looked at my wrist which still showed a faint scar. After that, my memory returned to someone who entered my room at that time. Yes, he is George! Then George injected something into my body to make my body stop, and then he immediately took something from his pocket which turned out to be a fairly large pendulum. He brought the pendulum closer to my face and ordered me to fall asleep until I lost consciousness and fell asleep completely.

Not only that, I also remembered George and who he really was, then how he pretended not to know me at that time. Wait, what exactly is this memory? I'm so sure that I've experienced all the things I just remembered, but why do they all appear at the same time now? So, George's arrival that night was to hypnotize me and erase some of my memories? I thought.

After that, I felt so nauseous that I felt like I was going to throw out all the contents of my stomach. I immediately ran to the bathroom and vomited everything as soon as I reached the toilet. Not long after, I heard Eros calling me, and a split second later, I found him already beside me patting and gently massaging the back of my neck. Until a few minutes later I stopped expelling the contents of my stomach and my body felt very tired. After that, Eros helped me stand up and wiped my mouth and face in the sink before he helped me walk back to bed.

Eros handed me a glass of water that was on the nightstand. I immediately accepted it and drank the water to help relieve my nausea which was still slightly felt at that time. “Are you feeling better, Freshia?” Eros asked after I returned him the glass of water he had given me earlier. But I just kept quiet. "Are you feeling so unwell that you're vomiting like that?" he asked again.

"Eros, what did you and George do to me that night after we fought?" Instead of answering his question, I charged him with another question. I could see he was surprised when he heard the question I had just asked him.

“I remember everything, Eros. George hypnotized me that night.” I said quietly.

“Our relationship has just improved, but why do I have to come back to discover the crimes you committed against me?” I said again and Eros was just silent. "Don't you want to tell me anything?" I said for the umpteenth time.

“You already know that what you remember and say is all true. I can't avoid it, so I don't know what to tell you.” Eros answered.

"What's your reason for doing that to me?" I asked again.

Eros was silent for a moment before answering me. "I just want to calm you down and stop thinking about running away from me. Besides, I don't want you to remember what happened at the hospital yesterday when I woke up in a mess after having a nightmare. I don't want you to know my weakness, Freshia.”

"Then why did you tell me that last night? What do you really want to do to me, Eros?"

Eros was silent for a moment, apparently trying to calm his emotions so as not to be provoked by me. “I meant it when I said that I wanted to improve our relationship, Freshia.”

"But how can I trust that you won't do bad things to me again in the future?"

“You don't have to believe me. Just judge how I will be in the future, Freshia.”

I still don't understand what I really feel right now. I get angry every time I remember what Eros did to me, but my heart just melts when I hear his explanation and the mistakes he made, I can just forgive. I don't know and don't understand why I am like this. I felt very angry with him, but I couldn't hate him.

Eros Robinson's POV

“How is Freshia doing now?” George asked. I'm currently connected to him via telephone. I really intend to tell George about Freshia's situation and how my relationship with her is currently.

“She remembers everything, George. And she also knows a little about my past.”

"A moment. Regarding her memory returning, that's normal because as I said before, maybe her memory will come back quickly considering that you often meet intensely. But about your past, how could she know?”

"I told her by myself."

"Seriously, Eros?" George asked in disbelief.

“I remember what you said to me yesterday. You said that if I don't change, it's possible that my sense of humanity will completely disappear and my feelings for Freshia will become a complete obsession. And that night, when I was just thinking about that, Freshia tried to run away again. I saw with my own eyes she had reached the stairs and was about to go downstairs, then I chased her. When I reached the end of the stairs, I managed to grab the back of her clothes but she slapped my hand away, making her lose her balance and fall. When she fell, she turned to face me and in fear, she tried to keep some distance between us.” I told George everything that happened.

“Seeing her like that filled me with deep fear. I still remember how that look full of fear was directed at me, which she had never shown before. My heart hurts when I imagine how Freshia will look at me with fear like that in the future. And again, I remembered that that look was the same look that the woman gave me before leaving my father. It made me realize, what if she would leave me like that woman left my father and me, George.”
