Chapter 105: Chapter 105
Damien
I agree I was wrong but then! She hit me right in front of everyone. I needed her to open up.
She has too many secrets that gives me no choice than to question her and fuck! She wasn't at the shop.
When she had handed me this envelope and still chase me out, I felt a pang of guilt.
What if I accused her wrongly while she was busy trying to help me out.
Stepping out of the shop, I still wasn't myself. Not when she openly told me the truth that she haven't been with anyone else.
She hates me now but then I still wanted to see her. And so rather than opening the envelope, I kept it with me inside my large coat and stood at a corner, like a watchman.
I don't want to be the pathetic alpha and mate to her. I don't want her to think I don't care.
I just needed truth and maybe I overreacted. I wasn't even myself as my eyes stared at her through the glass wall.
Damn. She looked like sizzling volcano, breaking everything she touches and pouring her frustration on her poor team mate.
If she sees me, it would add up to her anger and I thought it wise to stay.
But why are my feet still planted on the same spot?
However, my attention was suddenly driven to a man who was running like an emergency took place.
I swear I have seen that face somewhere but I can't recall where.
At first, I thought he forgot an order or needed something desperately even after the shop had placed it's closed tag.
I couldn't really see what was going on inside but then I noticed the three people, obviously her workers, at a corner where they were visible were smiling sheepishly.
And then there xandra who's emotions are expressed quickly on her face. She was saying something and even though I couldn't hear her, I followed her mouth.
She was saying;
"Harry is the only one that can handle her"
Fuck!!! He's Harry! I literally shouted in my heart and without a second thought, wanting to play a hero, rescue her and redeem my name and well...win her heart again, I rush in.
His hands were on her shoulders and with that look, he was hypnotizing my Luna!
How dare he touch her!
In a fit of rage, I lunged at him, landing him several blows.
I hauled her away from him, protecting her as he stumbled back.
At this point, everything was invisible to me except him.
My alpha aura flares, a low hum vibrating through my bones, and I can feel the room shrink around me, everything narrowing to the pulse of my prey.
He’s there, the demon with the bright eyes and the flicker of magic dancing at his fingertips. Harry.
I’ve heard the rumors—how he can bend light, how he can summon storms with a thought and I fucking witness it.
But right now, all I see is a threat to Luna Rosie, the woman who owns this place, the one who’s been my anchor for months.
“Stay back, Damien,” he says, voice steady, but his hands are already sparking. “I’m not here to hurt her.”
I snarl, the sound more animal than man, and surge forward.
My aura crackles, a wave of raw, primal energy that pushes the air aside like a blade.
The kitchen tiles tremble under my feet. I swing a fist, the force of my alpha power behind it, and the impact reverberates through the metal pots hanging above.
He dodges, a blur of motion, the light around his hands flaring as he conjures a shield of shimmering glass.
The shield shatters against my strike, shards scattering like rain. I feel the sting of his magic lashing at my skin, but it’s nothing compared to the roar in my chest.
“You demon! I found you at last!” I growl, the words grawling out with the ferocity of a storm. “i'm ending you today!"
He doesn’t answer. Instead, he launches a bolt of electric blue, the current arcing toward my heart.
I meet it head‑on, my aura absorbing the charge, converting it into a surge of raw power that ripples through my veins.
I felt invincible, the alpha inside me roaring louder than any magic he can summon.
He’s fast, I’ll give him that.
He darts to the side, slipping past my next swing, his foot brushing the edge of a flour sack.
The sack erupts in a cloud of white, momentarily blinding me. I cough, the taste of ash and iron filling my mouth, but I don’t stop.
My claws extend, the tips glowing with my alpha’s feral light.
“Damien!” a voice cries out, sharp and terrified. Rosie, my Luna, has stepped into the fray, her apron dusted with flour, eyes wide with fear.
For a heartbeat, my focus fractures. The world narrows to her trembling form, the way her hair brushes the counter, the soft gasp that escapes her lips.
My mind, clouded with protective rage, misreads the scene. I think she’s in danger, that Harry’s magic was about to strike her.
“Get away from her!” I roar, channeling every ounce of my alpha dominance into a single, crushing blow aimed at Harry’s chest.
He meets it with a shield of pure light, the impact sending a shockwave that knocks the kitchen cabinets open.
The force throws me back a step, but I’m already moving, driven by instinct and fury.
Rosie lunges forward, trying to push me away, to protect this bastard that's a threat!
"Stop it Damien!"
Her hands press against my chest, and for a split second I feel the softness of her skin, the warmth of her pulse. My aura flares, reacting to the contact, and I push back, hard.
She stumbles, her foot catching the edge of a overturned pot. And I heard the loud crash of something.
It's Rosie and her body fell to the floor.
