81- The apex of pleasure

81- The apex of pleasure
POV Edric Eldoria:

The muscles in my arms were rigid. With every thrust of my hips against hers, our lips parted, exhaling our pleasure.
I penetrated her, once, twice, three times. In hard, firm thrusts.
The dry leaves were caught in her strands of hair, turning her into a beautiful mess.
She lifted her jaw, letting out a moan mixed with unintelligible words.

“I’m going to come,” she warned, digging her nails into my biceps. “Don’t stop, please.”

I leaned in, planting a kiss on her sweaty forehead.

“I couldn’t stop even if I wanted to, little she-wolf.” The nickname I had given her flowed from my lips like a breath.

Our gazes locked. I watched her irises, with small greenish spots, dancing within the deep blue. Her pupils widened, the black taking over a large part of their color. Then the emerald-green pulsed, shining vividly.

I gasped, astonished by the beauty of what that meant. Her and her wolf in sync, both surrendering to me.
I saw my reflection in her dilated pupils. My eyes were the same, the gold and blue dueling yet in tune. It wasn't just the two of us, man and woman, who were connected; our beasts, our wildest parts, were too.

Her pussy tightened around me, the muscles contracting around my length, and then she exploded in an orgasm, coating me and screaming my name loudly.
I couldn't last a single second longer.

I joined her at the peak of pleasure, roaring her name and coming deep inside her womb, without stopping my thrusts against her, until my body had drained every drop I had to give her.
It hadn't been like during her heat, but it was no less intense.

I bent my elbows, leaning closer to her, and planted a kiss on her rosy, swollen lips, running my tongue over the small cracks. I let my body yield next to hers, throwing myself against the dry leaves that prickled my skin. I took a deep, somewhat labored breath. I stretched out my arm, laying her head upon it. And I stared at the moon.
She sighed and smiled. It was a beautiful smile, light and... sincere. It was the first time I had seen her offer one, at least to me.

My heart missed a beat.

Lunara had entrusted me with her biggest secret, removing the only barrier that stood between us. A sister. It wasn't for Alessio that she was suffering, but for a sister who had been lost in the chaos their lives had become.

As much as I hated to admit it, there was something strange and genuine in what we had done. It was as if a connection had been created and there was no turning back. No matter what we thought, our beasts were now linked, sharing the same lifeline.
At first, I thought everything I felt for her was linked to the mating mark. But after the desperation I witnessed in myself today, a feeling I hadn't experienced in a long time, I knew it was much more than that, that it went far beyond.

I felt my beast's distress. It was pure dismay and anguish.

A part of me still believed it was instinct, my alpha male genes screaming louder. But another, who was deep down, tried to convince me that it wasn’t just that.

Admitting this truth was challenging. I raised questions in my life that were not on the table. And if it were up to me, they would never be.

My breath calmed down, entering a slow and continuous rhythm. I ignored the smell of death, avoiding thinking about what it meant, what the torn bodies represented.
Avoiding thinking about the fact that, for a moment, I almost lost Lunara.

POV Lunara Grimwald:

Edric was relatively quiet when we returned home. He didn't exchange a single word with me, as if he didn't have the strength to say anything.

I felt a little dizzy, weak. But the pain from my wounds no longer bothered me. The skin on my calf had a pinkish hue, freshly healed. The marks from the teeth that had torn it apart were gone. It was like an old injury that hadn't been as terrible as it truly was.

I shuddered just remembering the teeth of that wretched beast breaking my skin.

Although my calf had been torn apart, the greatest trauma from that night would be the bastard marking me.

It wasn't just a physical pain that I felt; desperation reverberated from within my soul. It wasn't right, it shouldn't have happened. It felt like a betrayal to Edric and to the act of mating.

I went down the stairs with delicate steps.

I felt renewed after the bath. As tired as I was, I didn't feel... sad. It was as if revealing the truth about Elowen and taking that weight off my shoulders had helped me in some way.

He knew about my sister. He knew about the one secret I had carried for weeks, since I arrived in Eldoria. And I trusted him; I trusted that he would help me find her and that he wouldn't use her against me, like Alessio did.

Edric had been sincere with me. He said what I already knew. Yes, he would have used Elowen in the beginning, when my greatest desire was to run away from him. At no point did he omit or hide the truth, like that bastard Alessio did my entire life.

But now, things had changed; they were different. He promised me a comfortable and safe life. And he kept that promise through small acts, like the books he gifted me.

I no longer wanted to flee Eldoria, and he knew that. However, I wouldn't live in peace until I found my sister. Edric wanted to see me satisfied, so I knew he would be a good ally in this search.

I spotted him as soon as I stepped onto the last stair. His wet hair shone from the moonlight reflecting through the huge window. He was sitting on the edge of the sofa, his body thrown back in a relaxed position. And he was holding a glass of whiskey.

He was barefoot, wearing only gray sweatpants. I let my eyes run over the ridges of his defined abdomen and licked my lips.

The mark of my fangs on his neck caused a stir in my stomach, a pure satisfaction for my she-wolf. Our male was marked, displaying for all to see who he belonged to.

Involuntarily, I brought my fingers to the mark I possessed, touching it and feeling a small sting of pain that brought me pleasure. He turned his face toward me and fixed his blue eyes on me. The silver danced around his irises. He often looked like this when he was upset, worried, irritated, or both.

"How are you feeling?" he murmured, running his tongue over his lips.
