515- The Vase That Held Memories and Hearts Across Time
POV Thalyndra Moonclaw:
After three days, I woke up without feeling the pain, the chills, and the wave of heat. I sat up in the empty bed and took a deep breath, smelling my scent intertwined with Anton's.
I patted the mattress beside me and broke into a radiant smile, finally satisfied and relieved.
The heat had come to an end.
I didn't know how I was certain; I just was.
Over the past three days, Anton and I had barely eaten and barely slept. He fucked me constantly, every minute. My body gave no respite, no pause, calling him to me, filling me with arousal—it was as if my wolf was testing our limits. And perhaps she really was, especially after having brought forward the period to force a mating.
If I didn't learn to deal with Anton's presence, I would end up going crazy. The way she took him, as if he belonged to us, trying to force us to stay together—at some point, I would lose my mind.
The smell of bacon and scrambled eggs coming from the other side of the door made my stomach growl.
I got up, placing my bare feet delicately on the floor. I was suspicious; heat usually lasted seven days, and mine had only lasted three, so I kept waiting for another wave of heat, but nothing happened.
I turned around and looked at the room, finally able to analyze, for the first time in the three days I'd spent there, what Anton's bedroom was like.
The bed at the back, a door leading to a closet, and another leading to the bathroom. There was a bookshelf with some books in the corner, a television with a video game, and a sofa facing it. In the center, a beautiful rug in shades of dark blue and white. There was a large glass door with a view of part of the forest and a small balcony. It was simple and cozy.
I went to the bathroom and splashed some water on my face. I searched the cabinet under the white marble sink and found a new toothbrush. I did my morning hygiene and brushed my hair with my fingers, rolling it up and pinning it on top of my head.
I cast a glance at the enormous bathtub, remembering some moments we'd had inside it on the occasions when we tried to shower to relax our tired muscles.
I was wearing a black linen t-shirt that belonged to Anton, hanging above my knees, covering much of my body.
I took a deep breath, filling myself with courage, and left the room, opening the door gently. Anton had his back to me, facing the stove, cooking.
"You must be hungry," he said without turning around, noticing my presence.
I ran a hand over my neck and advanced. The living room was messy, with cushions thrown on the floor, the remains of our shredded clothes scattered, and the marks of my claws that would never come out of the wooden floor.
I cleared my throat.
"My heat passed," I announced, approaching slowly.
"I know," he announced and turned around, holding a frying pan with eggs in one hand. He looked me up and down, analyzing me.
"How?"
He wore only sweatpants; the skin of his chest, which I had scratched many times over the past few days, was intact, with no sign of the marks from my claws. He didn't look tired, despite having barely slept in recent days.
He sniffed, flaring his nostrils, and walked to the counter, placing the frying pan on it.
"Your scent changed; it doesn't have that sweet aroma anymore, characteristic of heat," he explained, pointing to the stool in front of me. "Now, sit down and come eat."
I didn't protest; I really needed to put some food in my stomach or I'd be capable of fainting from hunger. I pulled the stool that faced him and sat down. I poured a cup of coffee and brought it to my lips, letting out a sigh.
"It only lasted three days; I thought it would last seven," I commented, after savoring the hot, bitter drink.
Anton chewed a crispy slice of bacon, as desperate for food as I was.
"Usually it's seven."
"So I have some problem?" I widened my eyes. He laughed and shook his head.
"There's no problem with you; sometimes the period lasts less time."
Well... it was my first heat; perhaps the period was shorter because of that.
I stabbed my fork into the scrambled eggs, bringing them to my mouth. They were deliciously well-seasoned, just the way I liked them. I moaned, licking my lips.
"This is incredible!"
"You're welcome, at your service," he retorted. I rolled my eyes.
"Anyway, do you think my period lasted less because it was my first heat?"
Anton didn't look at me; he kept his eyes fixed on the food on his plate.
"Maybe," he said, shrugging, but he seemed to be omitting some information.
For a moment, we ate in silence, devouring all the food he had prepared, which could have served an army. There were at least a dozen eggs and plenty of bacon, yet we managed to consume everything.
"Your wolf seemed impatient," I commented, breaking the silence and changing the subject. "Was he... tired?"
He laughed and finally raised his face, looking at me.
"Tired? That's a word that doesn't exist in my vocabulary. Right now, at this very moment, you're moaning so much over the food that my cock is already hard, completely ready to fuck you, even though I've done that for the past three days nonstop." He ran a hand through his hair. "Believe me, Little Beast. It's not your heat that makes me desire you."
I took a deep breath and stirred the eggs on my plate, feeling a restlessness, arousal building up just from hearing his words.
I cleared my throat.
"So?"
Anton dropped his utensils and crossed his arms over the counter, pressing his lips into a grimace.
"You didn't open your womb," he said, staring at me intently through his thick lashes.
I dropped my fork and leaned back, assuming a relaxed posture, though my heart was beating erratically.
"I don't even know how to do that," I admitted.
