364- Fragile Relief
POV Seraphine Valerian:
Tears filled my eyes again, and I felt humiliated, out of control. I pushed against his chest to pass, but he didn’t move. He grabbed my arms, frowning.
“Are you jealous?”
“Let me go!”
Viktor pressed me against the table and his body, his eyes still that volatile color, his breath mixing with mine. Then I lost all reason, rising onto my toes and brushing my mouth against his. He froze, staring at me seriously. I kissed him.
Everything exploded. Within seconds, his tongue was in my mouth, invading and taking over, while he lifted me onto the edge of the table and moved between my legs. I was grabbed brutally, and I attacked him back, hungry, desperate.
We clung to each other, and I soared with the taste, the scent, the hard body against mine. I tangled my hands in his hair, moaning and giving myself to him. Finally having what I needed to feel alive, real.
I whimpered, caught in the delicious spiral of pleasure, his lips firm and soft devouring mine, each twist and stroke of his tongue creating new waves.
Viktor gripped my hair tightly at the nape, holding my head to kiss me deeper and deeper, his other hand on my ass, pulling me so close that his thick length pressed against my damp folds through my panties. I opened myself, rubbing and moaning, delirious.
He growled, bending me back, his fingers moving upward, squeezing my flesh, grabbing a breast and kneading it. He bit my lip, my chin, pulled my hair back, and attacked my throat with painfully delirious bites.
I arched, wrapping my legs around his body and lifting my hips to grind against his erection, nearly falling onto the table. He held me, pulling me back to kiss me again, making me almost come like that, without even being naked or penetrated.
“You drive me crazy, fuck…”
He ranted, licking, kissing, biting, touching. He pinched my nipple through the fabric, and I cried out into his mouth, that storm exploding and throwing me into the whirlwind, making me beg for release.
“Viktor, I’m—”
A man’s voice suddenly cut through the madness we were in.
He froze, his tongue still against mine, opening his eyes.
“Sorry, I’ll come back later.”
The door slammed, and the silence was broken only by our ragged breathing. I almost cried when he pulled his head away, tense, letting me go slowly.
It was hard to release his hair, to let my arms fall. I trembled, sitting on the table, unsteady, shaken by the interrupted desire.
Viktor turned his back to me, saying harshly:
“That’s enough for today.”
“But…”
“Leave, Seraphine. I have a lot to do. And don’t come back.”
He disappeared into the bathroom.
I slid my legs to the floor, adjusting my dress, still stunned. It had been fast, overwhelming, cutting.
I tried not to feel humiliated, but the emptiness came anyway.
I wouldn’t cry or beg.
I left without speaking to Daciana’s two sons downstairs, my face burning, my heart shattered.
I would never let that damned man touch me again.
Never again!

POV Viktor Averwyn:
“I’ll take over now,” Florian said as the others prepared to leave.
“No, I’ll stay the night here.”
I settled more firmly into the chair, and he shook his head.
“There’s no need to go two nights without sleep, Viktor. The attacks have slowed down. We can take shifts with the cameras.”
“I’m staying.”
I was a bundle of nerves and wouldn’t find peace away from there. They exchanged looks, and Cezar went to pour us some țuică, speaking over his shoulder:
“Let’s have a drink and relax a bit. Maybe some good news will reach us.”
I found that unlikely. Katarina and Virgil hadn’t communicated, everything out there was silent, signaling bad omens. And my mind wouldn’t stop, weighed down by so many different worries that it was hard to focus on just one.
Ionuț and Emil went home. Florian and Cezar kept discussing the probabilities of enemy advances across the territory as we drank.
The younger one finally turned to me, addressing the subject:
“I wanted to apologize for coming in earlier. I knocked, but I guess you were so… occupied, you didn’t hear.”
A smirk started to form at the corner of his mouth, disappearing quickly when I shot him a furious look. He raised his hands.
“No need for that, I’m just explaining!”
“He and Ionuț are very curious about the human,” Florian added, setting his empty glass on the table. “Just like the rest of the village. They think she might be your destined one.”
“They should worry about the war, not my love life,” I cut in coldly. “It’s always the same conversation!”
“We know you prefer humans.” Cezar smiled. “Of course, the cemetery out front isn’t exactly subtle.”
He laughed, but quieted, a bit wary. He pretended to focus on the monitors, sensing my irritation.
“But is she important?” Florian insisted. I respected him like a father—I knew he wouldn’t push me too far.
“No.”
It was a blatant lie, and everyone knew it. If Seraphine meant nothing, I wouldn’t have brought her to the village. Much less fought for her life, even letting my daughter escape because of it. I also wouldn’t want to fuck her every chance I got, not caring whether she’d be dead in a few weeks.
I finished the harsh drink, still burning from what had happened that morning, tense. If Cezar hadn’t interrupted us, I wouldn’t have resisted. I had been on the verge of devouring her right there on the table, forgetting the rest of the world.
That was another reason to stay the night there. Maybe that desire, that temptation, would ease.
“Tomorrow the full moon begins. People in the village are upset because there won’t be the monthly gathering around the fire,” the younger one commented.
“They can still have it,” I replied. “It might distract them from the tension.”
“But there’s no mood. And they know you won’t show up, so they’d rather wait until things settle,” Florian said, running a hand through his gray hair.
“I don’t have the head for that right now.”
