232- The Scent That Breaks My Control
POV Aldren Valmorin:
“Nothing.”
“Nothing?” He stared at me in disbelief.
“People have the right to talk, just as I have the right not to give them explanations. I sacrifice my life for the safety of my people, Orion. They know I wouldn’t let someone dangerous roam free.”
“Will you integrate her in an acceptance ceremony?”
“Not yet.”
“Are you two… together?”
“No.” Orion moistened his lips, looking thoughtful, and then I remembered something I needed to tell him. “I contacted the alpha of your beloved foreign family—the one you want me to bring to Valmorin.” My revelation lit up his expression.
“Tell me more, please.”
“I don’t want you to build false hopes, but he seemed interested in negotiating.”
In Romania, the mated female migrated to the male’s pack, but in the rest of the world, alphas followed their own rules. As much as I had the power to move that family without negotiation, I wouldn’t risk creating enemies for nothing.
I had learned cruelly that an enemy at my heels would also be a threat lurking for my people. That was why they were never left alive to plan their revenge.
“Forgive me for this, Aldren. If we could choose who we fall in love with, things would be simpler.”
“Don’t worry. Keep an eye out and inform me if you notice any strange movement.”
I said goodbye to Orion and walked to my shelf behind the piano.
I didn’t hear the door closing—only opening.
Some time later, I didn’t need to look to understand what was happening.
The scent of roses, jasmine, and black pepper intoxicated me.
“Elowen,” I spoke her name, and finally heard footsteps followed by the door closing. The bitch had slipped in through the door Orion had left open. I remained where I was, reaching for one of my books, pretending not to be affected by her presence. “I don’t recall inviting you to the basement.”
“That’s true, but I missed you so much that I decided to risk my neck one more time,” she teased, moving closer.
I forced my facial muscles not to react with a smile and turned to look at her. Damned and irresistible female.
The temptation of hell itself wore a different color on her lips, making them even more enticing. Was that part of her shopping? Dressed in a short skirt and a sleeveless blouse, she exposed part of her mark on her shoulder.
On that white skin, my mark was the most beautiful painting on Earth.
“You will not step outside the house wearing that.”
My order made a wicked smile slide across her lips.
“Why? Don’t you want people to see this?” She spun around, exposing the marks on her thighs, looking at me playfully over her shoulder.
I used my speed to stop right in front of her. Too bold for my liking, she threw her arms over my shoulders, crossing her hands behind my neck.
“What do you think you’re doing?”
She rose onto her tiptoes and stole a loud kiss from me. Unbelievable.
None, in three hundred and fifty years, had ever been so forward.
“Thanking you for your kindness.”
“What kindness?”
“For letting me get to know Valmorin. It’s been so good.”
“You want to thank me properly? Kneel down and suck my cock, Elowen,” I shot back, completely out of control. I was already insane, without a doubt. I avoided her because I knew what would happen when we were together. I knew it well.
My suggestion startled her, her pupils expanding under the moonlit glow. But she quickly recovered, running her tongue over her own lips provocatively.
“You’ve been very nice. I think you deserve it…”
What?
I was caught off guard. I spoke without expecting— not even for a second—that she would accept.
I closed a hand around her hair and grabbed her hard, leaning in and catching her lower lip between my teeth.
“Are you going to let me fill that mouth with cum, you slut?”
“Mm… I’m already drooling just imagining it. I want to swallow it all…” She used her most needy tone.
“What are you waiting for, bitch?”
“For you to guarantee that… I won’t have to share you with anyone.”
Impossible…
“Cunning, filthy bitch,” I growled.
“Woof, woof,” she joked, unafraid of danger.
I released her and returned to where I had been, before she realized the state she’d left me in with almost no effort.
“I’m not promising you anything.”
“Oh, what a shame. I guarantee it would be incredible…”
I grabbed a book, trying to disperse her, but cunning as she was, she was already beside the piano.
“I’ll find something else to do, don’t worry.” A female growl sounded.
No.
Besides being cunning, she was possessive. If I weren’t rock hard, I would have turned to admire her ferocity with pleasure.
“If I smell another bitch on you…” she murmured.
I laughed.
“And what will you do? Try to kill me again?” Elowen fell silent. “Get out,” I ordered.
“You asked me to forget that, Aldren. I’d appreciate it if you didn’t keep reminding me.”
“All right, Elowen, g-e-t o-u-t.”
No sign that she was moving her marked tail toward the door, and her presence tormented me far too much.
“I wasn’t born to share, Aldren.”
“Neither was I. Get out.”
“Stop avoiding me.”
I let out a furious growl and turned my face toward her, glaring threateningly.
“On three, your right to leave this house will be revoked. Don’t doubt it. One, two…”
Before I could finish counting, she ran swiftly to the door and left, slamming it shut.
It was good to know there was still some fear left in her—because audacity, she had in abundance.
I was fucked. I sensed I was about to pay for all my sins.
